I can not even explain how sad this is that this has happened!!!!! There is no less then 1 The place killed a cat that was brought in as a SAM (a Good Samaritan) it was a stray cat that had been around my home for the past months the and half. Very friend appeared to be a lost pet. We have 4 strays that we care for and this one joined in. After coming home from a vacation we discovered it had its face slashed ( as if it was caught in something like a tight fence or metal can) it was not bleeding and had begun healing at the time of discovery. We had been away for 3 weeks. Our pet sitter was feeding outside cats. So while feeding the cat it allowed me to pet it and touch his face. Again very friendly! We asked the SPCA if they did medical but they said go to red bank, we asked a local pet store they said red bank and on the way in we ran into a animal control officer and he said the animal would be fine. This cat was a sweet stray that we would have kept but thought the medical would be to much and after talking with all the people we felt that red bank would fix it up and it would be adopted out. Which would be better than a life outside in our yard. So we signed it in was told they would examine it and that it would be checked for chip. Again this cat was friendly sweet and easy. I was rethinking our decision to leave it so I called to find out about it 5 hours later. Only to be told it was put down!!!!!!!! Killed when I asked why they said it was not friendly and behaving agitated. It had rabies is what I was told. I said wrong cat that it was sweet and not an issue then they said the vet said the cat was lethargic and acting like it had rabies. I again said no way this cat was friendly and fine except it's face on both sides had the cuts. They then said they had the right since it was a SAM and that it was too late and done. This cat had not even meows in the car ride. He let me pet him and other dogs coming over smell Him in the carrier with no issue at all, no hissing, and no growling from the dogs. If he was sick the dogs would have smelled it and growled. Nothing sweet behaved tired injured cat. They killed it because no one was paying them to care for it!!!!!!! This place is all about the money and did not even take the time to talk with me to find out more about the cat. So sad to have made the mistake to trust them to care for the cat and get it adopted out.Read Less

I used to work here, and when I did I was always so impressed with the medical quality. It made me feel bad for truly sick animals that went to other hospitals that didn't have the luxury of having advanced diagnostic equipment and specialists present. Because of my experiences with the doctors and techs there, when it became evident that my 1 year old dog would need a neurological consult, I immediately knew exactly where I was going to take her. She went to see Dr. Glass, got an MRI, and thankfully it turned out to be something she was born with and can live with just fine. I do take her for her annuals someplace a bit closer to home (since RBVH is a hike for me), but if she ever needs a specialist or we have an emergency, she will always end up here. Read Less

I've used both the Linwood facility for late at night emergencies, and we have been to Tinton Falls 5 times over the past 6 years to see Dr. Glass, the neurologist. One time was to help my cat, and 4 of those 5 times was to help my dog, who suffers from IVDD, a terrible disk disease that can paralyze and is very painful. This last time, Dr. Glass was able to perform surgery on my boy and help take away the pain from a ruptured disk in his cervical spine. It's only 5 days post-op, but he's already walking and comfortable. Dr. Glass went above and beyond to help my Frenchie, and not just for the MRI and surgery. I cannot say enough good things about their neurology department. Even the front desk staff was amazingly nice and helpful. Cooper, our 13 year old German Shorthaired Pointer mix that looked more like a Chocolate Lab was a patient here. We are fortunate that we had minimal veterinarian appointments in 13 years as Cooper was a very healthy dog. It was in Cooper's last days that showed us how much Dr. Mary Beth Morgan cared about Cooper, her patient and us, his family. We knew it was time, but needed to get his sisters home from College and Dr. Morgan worked with us and revamped her schedule to fit the small window we had with our daughters home. We knew Cooper would be uncomfortable and out of sorts with a car ride to the hospital and we didn't want his final moments to be in the hospital. Dr. Morgan and one of her team members came to us. We were able to be with him in our home and give him the love and respect he had given us for 13 years. Dr. Morgan explained everything and put us at ease, as much as she could during this difficult time for our family. Cooper left this world with us by his side and with the dignity he so deserved. When Dr. Morgan had pulled up to our house earlier, we noticed her car was one that we used to have and how Cooper loved to stand in the back seat with his front legs on the console so he could stick his head out the sun roof. Before Dr. Morgan drove away with Cooper, she opened the sun roof. Just one more thoughtful gesture that made us smile through the heart ache. Thank you Dr. Morgan. You truly care about your patients and families. Jane, Charlie, Reilly and ReidRead Less

It's great to be in the animal care business it seems. I've had my schnauzer in here twice for bladder stones and was prescribed Royal Canine SO prescription food ($70 for 24 cans) I've been buying food from them ever since 2008 but it seems now that they require my dog with an obvious reoccurring condition to come in for a check up before selling me anymore food. I've spent well over $5000 on my schnauzer alone and for them to deny me the food that she obviously needs is just bad business . I guess they want to increase there bottom line regardless of such petty "policy" so now I drive home with just one can left in the cupboard. I'll only be using RBVH for emergency purposes from now on.I'll go to my regular Vet or worse yet online (I make it my personal policy to buy locally) , so much for supporting a local business that doesn't support you back.John Read Less

RBVH REHAB CENTER is an amazing place!! our little Maltese Zoe at the age of 12 started developing many problems. Enlarged heart with a murmur, kidney issues and slight pancreas problems. Zoe also had arthritis. Because of her health conditions, medicine for her arthritis was complicated and not advised. For two years we saw Kirsty at RBVH REHAB for physical therapy, laser treatments and acupuncture. Zoe's energy increased and was playful again. Her other health problems were monitored by an amazing group of doctors and staff. Zoe was our little amazing princess, we did everything possible to provide her with a good life. We lost of little girl at age 14 from congestive heart failure. Everyone was so compassionate. We received cards and calls with condolences. A few years ago, Our younger Maltese who is always into things, jumped off of a sofa and broke her foot. Yup in a cast then physical therapy with Kirsty. We still can't believe Kirsty got her in the water for therapy. PT is always the way to go after and injury. Kaya has had no problems and today walks 3-4 miles a day. Read Less

My husband and I had planned for several months to visit our daughter in Nashville, Unfortunately, less than two weeks before we were scheduled to leave, one of our dogs was diagnosed with nasal cancer and was suffering the aftereffects of a biopsy (bloody nose, sneezing bouts), and the man who was supposed to board the dogs asked that we find an alternative. Fortunately, we were able to board both dogs at RBVH Center for Integrative Medicine, allowing us to make our trip to Tennessee without having to worry about how our dogs were faring. When I picked up the dogs, they seemed comfortable at the facility, and I could tell that they had had a good stay there. Even though I had to pay more to board the dog that has cancer, I found the total cost of the dogs' stay to be reasonable. (In my experience, the cost of boarding my dogs has never been trivial!) I fully recommend RBVH as a boarding facility, especially for those animals that have medical conditions and require monitoring. Read Less

I brought my dog in as an emergency. Her balance was completely off. I knew she didn't suffer a stroke, she was very energetic. But I just wanted to find out what was causing her balance problem. I was afraid that she was going to hurt herself. I suspected it to have something to do with her inner ear. maybe an infection or virus. i had mentioned it to the doctor. Her response was that the only why to find out would be to perform an MRI. Which would cost about $3700.00. I had mention that it was to costly. I kind of felt that I was being put on the spot! To make along story short. My dog has a condition that older dogs can get, that effects the inner ear. but yet sent home with some antibiotics just in case there was an inner ear infection. So pretty much my dog went home with what I suspected that she had. In humans, this would be called VERTIGO!!! THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WOULD BE THAT IT WOULD NOT COST YOU $3700.00 TO FIND THAT OUT FROM YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!! Read Less

We had to take our chameleon here she was very sick and we had to make a choice put her to sleep or years of pain. Theu sent us a foot and tail print and a card. This by far is the best vet we have visited. They are all so caring and thoughtful. My family and I would like to say thank you soooo much for your kind words and the thoughtfulness of the card really touched our hearts. Was not an easy choice but they did make the process a lot better!!! Thank you from Sally's family Read Less

I recently moved from Hoboken to Monmouth County. I took my dog Lexi here Thursday night after seeing the nail in her paw was infected and split.
The Dr. and staff were great - I was out in a few hours and they did a wonderful job! Besides being very clean and reminding me of an actual human hospital, everyone was very patient and accommodating. I recommend this place to everyone in the area and I'll be back for regular visits and any emergencies (hoping no more!) Read Less

My cat, Dribbles, was operated on by Dr Glass and Dr Bald last year to remove a meningioma from his spinal cord. I had all but given up when I heard 'tumour on the spinal cord' but to my amazement, they not only successfully removed it, they restored him to the life of a vibrant kitten. I cannot praise or thank that hospital enough. They are warm, sensitive gifted miracle workers and neither I, nor Dribbles, can ever thank them enough. God bless you guys Read Less

Read Less

Took my Lucy in as an emergency on a Sunday night. A trip from Toms River! I have nothing but praise for the way Lucy and I were treated, even though it was our first visit. I requested in home follow up for her. I cannot praise Dr Avery and Laura enough. Every question I had was explained to me and most of all they took their time with Lucy. I will have a follow up visit at home in 3 months. As I said previously, Dr Avery and Laura are Lucy's care team from now on. Too bad there aren't more than 5 stars!I'm praising Dr Avery and Laura, but everyone I had contact with at RBVH was kind and caring, even Michael who carried Lucy out to my car in her carrier for me. A scary experience turned into a positive one. Thank you! Read Less

I cannot say enough about this hospital. My mini schnauzer started being seen at rbvh about 10 years ago. When the best vet he has ever seen, Dr. Marsha Smith, began taking appts at their CIVM, we moved to that faculty with her. Jake is getting up in years, and this location serves his needs well. All of the staff is lovely and caring. We travel 20 mins to get there, and in the near future planning to move another 30 mins further. We will still continue to go to see Dr Smith here, despite the further traveling. We are that satisfied and confident in the care our dog receives.

Read Less
