This was the worst vet experience in my life that I stopped my 2 kitties' check ups in the middle of it. It started with getting mildly irritated when I was struggling getting into the animal hospital with 2 carriers in my arms and no one to help me open a door or anything when there were 2 workers sitting chatting , as well as getting no help leaving the vet . I've never assisted so much during a check up either , for the first time I had to help with many steps , it's not such a big deal that I had to hold my cat in order for them to take his temperature , I am lucky that cat is small and pretty calm , but he was struggling to get away . I brought 1 cat for a check up , and the other because I needed one of my cats teeth extracted and was in a lot of pain due to it so they wanted to do a dental exam first . First of all , the vet could not even find the tooth that was affected , and got bit in the unreasonably long process it took to just Identify his affected tooth . (Even when she did finally find it , she missed another affected tooth that my new vet brought to my attention !! There were 2 affected teeth total) She got bit because she applied pressure accidentally to the tooth that was in a great deal of pain and she had a little attitude in her voice like she was irritated examining my kitty . Also I was very unhappy about the doctor and nurse going in and out of the room without caution that my cat is right on the ground near the door and could easily run out if he wanted to while other animals and people are walking up and down the hallway. ALSO , when the nurse had first examined my first kitty , she did not mention an obvious dried-bloody scratch on his head I noticed AFTER she took a look at him . I assume it's a scratch from my other cat , but I didn't know it was there until I was holding him on the table after the nurse had finished her examination, I wish should would have pointed it out to me . I stopped the appointment in the middle because I was just very anxious and upset with the service I was getting and the tooth extraction estimate came out to be about $700-$800 (1 dental molar extraction) , which is pretty averaged priced . I have returned my cat to a new vet which is my old vet that I loved , I stopped going there the reason being that they had merged with another animal hospital that was farther away . I had gotten my kitty's tooth extraction service there at Rutherford Animal Hospital after and couldn't be more pleased , which is only about 10-15 min from Ridgefield Park Animal Hospital . I have never gotten a better service than at Rutherford Animal Hospital . I am so greatly please I would recommend anyone going there . They keep the environment very clean and every single person working there is so friendly and I feel so safe leaving my babies with them . I love getting a good service , and this one at Rutherford Animal Hospital was more than anything . They have different doctors who specialize in cats and dogs and even a separate waiting area for cat owners and dog owners which is a little plus/bonus that I love. They also have their own parking lot and street parking where there's ALWAYS an available spot for you so you can get to the building quick and safely with your pet . And you know what else , my doctor had found another affected tooth that RIDGEFIELD PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL failed to notice , let alone the original affected tooth they couldn't even identify . AND so , at Ridgefield Animal Hospital - with 2 dental extractions my bill came out to only $626 , YES! I will never take my cats here at Ridgefield Park Animal Hospital again or recommend anyone who dearly loves their pets to go here . Read Less
