I know this hospital through the shelter from where I adopted my two cats, Tom and Jerry. The price is absolutely reasonable and the staffs are so friendly and sincerely love cats. I live in Manhattan but really don't mind driving back and forth to visit this hospital, totally worth it. Read Less

Over the past few months I have brought 7 cats to this vet clinic and have had a great experience each time! All of the staff are wonderful, caring individuals that truly love cats! 2 of the cats were feral and they were trap/neuter/release candidates. I was amazed how the staff was able to handle each of these animals. Both recovered very well without complications and I released each one 3 days after surgery. I had such a pleasant experience that a month later I brought my 2 new kittens for their neuter/spay and shots and a week later my other 3 house cats that were due for their yearly vaccinations and health check. If you want to spend a ton of money on dentals before the doctor acknowledges what the underlying issues are with your cat, go here. If you want to see a doctor that is only interested in suggesting treatments that cost quite a bit of money without offering all options in regard to quality of life, go here. If you want vet techs that swing your cats case around on their shoulder with your ill cat IN IT as they bring it up to the front for pick up, enter and exit exam rooms in a huff without acknowledging that a cat may in fact be on the floor and SLAM doors in the process, by all means go here.  It was a good idea in theory to try this place but we're done. Our cat is a cranky old lady and hates the vet, along with hating most people, but she is our baby and we love her. This is the first vet where she has not mauled the staff almost immediately, she is actually quite calm there. The entire staff is extremely kind and caring, we never feel pressured to do anything and Dr. Pla listens to you, explains everything and is very knowledgable which puts you at ease. I've had pets my whole life and dealt with many vets in the tri-state area, including major animal hospitals.  I've never encountered such professionalism and caring dedication to total pet wellness.  Dr Pla always goes above and beyond, spending extra time to give valuable advice on proper nutrition and home care for common illnesses.  Unlike most animal hospitals, office visits are never hurried.  Plus the staff is just awesome!  My cat loves going there.  This is the kind of vet you want for the rest of your cat's life.  Thank you guys! This is a great hospital for cats & cats alone.  When you specialize in one area,  you are getting great, caring  knowledgeable personnel. You will pay for this, but you will be paying for their expertise & when you leave,  you will not be coming back many times because of a misdiagnosis or wrong medication. My cat has cancer & is doing wonderful!!! I was ready to euthanize him if he became sick & in pain. He has put on weight & purrs all the time. Very happy boy (me too). Read Less

I initially was trilled to find a vet in my area that only delt with just cats. I myself work in the animal field and wanted to go to a place that I felt was going to take great care of my baby. My first initial meeting with Dr. Pla was quite pleasant. We went over different foods and feeding and he was surprised with my knowledge and I learned a few things from him as well. I was taking my cat  in for vaccinations but brought up a hair issue I noticed on my cat and  Dr. Pla looked at it and identified it immediately as Ringworm. After his diagnosis I was told to do 2 dips per week for 1 month and to start on a round of antibiotics. He also told me to quarantine him as much as possible which is hard since I live in a 1 bedroom condo. Dr. Pla advised me that if it were his cat that he would just put him in a 1/2 bathroom that he has till his treatment was done. I was appalled by this response since my cat is 6 months old and is still learning and is such a lover. I would think that something like this would be traumatizing at this young age. He also explained to me that he had a client that battled this for 2 years but was not following his advice. I understand that his diagnoses was not a light one but he made it seem like it was the plague. After leaving and spending a lot of money I was nervous and worried about everything. The next day I brought him in for a sulfur dip and was shocked at the price. I wound up doing them done elsewhere otherwise I would have been driven to the poor house. After a week on meds my cat started to vomit every time he took it. I called the vets and a receptionist informed me that the vet wants  to do a liver enzyme test. I asked to make an appointment with Dr. Pla and was told that he didn't have an appointment till 4 days later. This is ridiculous. I knew he just had a liver test done 1 week before and this just seemed unnecessary. After much thought and feeling more like nuisance than a priority I decided to take my cat somewhere else. After  making an appointment at a new vet I called to have my records faxed over and was given a cold "ok" and hung up on. In 30 minutes Dr. Pla called me and explained that he could do the test that night at another vet clinic he was working at. I politely told him no and took my business somewhere else. I informed him that I was going to another vet and was asked what other vet was I going to and told me that I was going to be charged office visits at a new vet. All said and done he is cured after only 3 weeks of treatment  and I never treated him any different other than keeping him out of a few rooms. He also did not have to endure any unnecessary test from his new vet. The receptionist are nice as is Dr. Pla but I feel as though it is all about a dollar here. I brought our adult cat in because he had developed a periodontal disease that needed to be addressed.  We had gone to our local vet, and we were given an outrageously high quote.  And after having a great experience with Cats Exclusive in the past, I brought him in for a second opinion.  Dr Pla spent over an hour talking about my little guy's condition, and told me all of my options and possible consequences.  I felt very assured and confident that he would be in good hands.  The costs were considerably less than what we were originally quoted by our other vet, and the overall experience was exceptional.  Dr Pla insisted on offering a free visit a week later to make sure things were healing correctly.  While I've found most vets to be focused on how much they can charge you for their services, Cats Exclusive projects an honest and refreshingly transparent approach that focuses on the animal and not the dollar. If I could, I would clone Dr Pla and the staff so they'd be there night and day. Best veterinary office I've ever experienced! I'm grateful to have found them when I first moved to NJ and will never go anywhere else. I recommend Dr Pla to everyone I know, he's fully up to date on all the latest info, treatments and tech for getting our cats in optimum health. I didn't have the best experience in the office when I took my cat in for a visit. The reception staff was great, but whether the team was rushed or what, I felt I didn't get the chance to really talk to someone about my cats care, and was sort of rushed through the process. I was offered a lot of things without really understanding what they did or if I needed them. ( I did not see Dr. Pla at my visit - it was another vet.)However, when they sent out a survey and I explained this, the head vet (Dr. Pla) called me and gave my his home phone number to talk about it. We ended up speaking for almost an hour and he took the time to respond to all of my questions about my cat that I didn't feel comfortable talking about in the visit. Doctor Pla was amazing and I really appreciate the time he spent talking to me about my animal, that is the sort of vet that I would trust to care for my cat. Read Less

Sick or well, you won't find better care for your cat. Having been a client at Cats Exclusive for more than ten years and I have never had a bad experience. Ever. Over the years Dr. Pla and his staff have taken care of six of our cats. Besides the usual well care, the illnesses have ranged from an impacted tooth to incurable cancer and seizures. Dr. Pla always takes the time to explain every diagnosis, prognosis and course of treatments available. When we have been forced to deal with the inevitable, the compassion shown by Dr. Pla and the staff is incredible. We are always given the option stay as they go to "sleep" and encouraged to spend as much time  as we need with our pet both before and after. The compassion and consideration extends to condolence cards they send--and not just form letters. It is always Dr. Pla who calls with the results of lab work, whether good news or bad, in case you have any questions. And how many doctors--for animals or humans--give you their home and cell number in case there is an emergency or you just need reassurance for a sick cat? Bottom line--Dr. Pla and Cats Exclusive are the BEST! Hands down, no question, positively! Read Less

If you want to give money for wrong diagnosis, go here!   They told me that my cat has a disease where all of his teeth would rot (and each one would have to be removed at $400 / tooth).  Needless to say, I got a second opinion.  He had one bad tooth that was removed about 3 years ago...and all the rest of his teeth are perfect at age 7!  They also told me that I should have my cat groomed and it would cost $500.  Aye yai yai.  Seriously...! These people truly care about your cat.   A friend recommended this place after the nightmare at Secaucus Animal Hospital.  What can I say Bethany the receptionist is a delightful woman and the staff really took care of my lil girl.  They are not cheap, but really worth it.  They see every alternative, they investigate they treat your cat like a human.  They also give you alternative places to purchase your medicine if you think it's too expensive.  I can't say anything but great things about this place. this is very nice clinic, with reasonable prices and very competent and friendly staff. I would recommend going to Dr. Pla as long as he is the main vet there and seems to be very knowledgeable. I visited few clinics before and consider this one the best so far. If you have a cat and can get there sure go! I found this clinic in google and after researching few specific sites this clinic was the only one with positive reviews only. Now I know why.Read Less
