Ridiculous that they make you call the poison control hotline where you have to pay an additional $70...plus their fee of having of $100 emergency. I completely understand the emergency fee but why do we even need to call poison control and pay the fee? We obviously came here for a reason. I've been to other animal hospitals for a similar situation and our vet did not have us call poison control nor pay that additional fee. Also, most vets, even in emergent situations, will run you through what will be done and an estimated of what you will be expected to pay. We did not see a vet until our dog was already treated at the very end.  Needless to say, we will not be back to this place Read Less

Too much expansion too fast. Their customer service has dropped dramatically. I'm not even sure they have integrated the computer files of newly acquired practices. I would NOT recommend them

Horror story. I brought my cat in because she stopped jumping on the couch. She was fine other than that.  Dr Pla suggested Xray and bloodwork. When completed she was brought to me by vet tech Brittany who said she didnt like the Xray procedure. For some reason, she was not sedated for it and I had forewarned that she was a feisty cat. When she let her out of the carrier my cat could barely walk straight. Subsequently she saw two other vets who informed me there was disk damage and diagnosed her with hind limb paralysis. Months went by where she suffered and I suffered watching her and making sure she got the best treatment possible.  I am disgusted and angered by what happened and why they did not sedate her for the procedure. I once had a lot of respect for Dr Pla. Shame. Read Less

Tonight our ferret Murr let out a scream we never heard before. When we ran to check on him he was limping and pulling his leg up in toward his body. Fearing a broken bone we frantically started calling the local emergency clinics. None of them had a vet that treated exotics. We usually see Dr. Beeber in Little Falls but they were closed. So we called Rutherford Animal Hospital where we know Dr Beeber also practices and they told us to bring him right in. Cindy the technician and Dr. Petrone were so wonderful with him. They really fussed over him and gave him TLC. Best part.. his arm isn't broken! The bill was super reasonable as well. This is a great clinic staffed with incredible people who really love animals. I highly recommend this clinic. Read Less

The reason why I have decided to write this review is that it could be useful for a pet owner that is looking for a place where his pet is appreciated. I have brought my cats to RAH for many years now, and overall, the staff is nice, and the veterinarians do a good job.  The truth is that after putting to sleep my beloved 18 years old cat and since my younger cats did not really need any special care, I thought it was time to find a place a little more reasonable ($$$).   It Turned out that one of my cats got sick and I decided to take her back to RAH because I did not feel confident about the other places.  As I never had any preference as to the vet that sees my cats, it appeared that the veterinarian available that day (or in charge) was Dr. Petrone.  She was the one who called me and gave me the diagnosis: My cat had an enlarged heart :/.  Dr. Petrone was so good at explaining everything about that disease and patiently answered all my silly (obvious) question.  At the follow-up appointment, I was assigned to see Dr. Petrone again.  To my surprise she remembered my cat, she remembered our phone conversation, and even more, a week later I received a call from her asking how my kitty was doing.  I wish I had found this vet before, it is so difficult when you have an animal with health complications, and it gets so expensive that sometimes you do not know what to do.  I know this because my husband and I went through a lot with our old cat, but we realized that we could only do the best we could.  In the same manner, we did not think it would be fair to expect veterinarians to achieve the impossible, nor do to expect no hospitals fees. So here we are again, it is going to be an expensive disease and sadly our cat will have a short life.  This time we really appreciate having Dr. Petrone direction and my beloved cats will be visiting her from now on.   For sure! I am touched by and grateful for the TLC our Gracie must have received during a recent stay at Rutherford Animal Hospital. Shortly before, she was diagnosed with a serious heart condition. Although the hospital has our complete confidence after thirty years of excellent service by Dr. Beeber and his team, I was very stressed at even the thought of boarding her for a week. In my head, I knew it was going to be okay. My heart told me something different. Fortunately, the hospital administrator, Kathy Sylvester, was kind enough to spend a long time discussing my concerns and allaying my fears. I left home knowing Gracie was going to be in wonderful hands. I am delighted to be able to say that when we picked her up she was in great shape. Bless you, Rutherford Animal Hospital - all of you - for the care and caring you showed Gracie. It made our excellent vacation possible. Read Less

I would NEVER ever come here EVER again and I don't recommend anyone to bring there pet here.  My Dog was sick and had CHF one morning he could not breathe so I took him in. He was placed all day in oxygen tank to stabilize him. I was told To come back cause I wasn't allowed to stay with him. I came back to pick him up and the vet told me HES DOING BETTER ITS OK TO TAKE HIM HOME. If he has trouble breathing then you can bring him to an overnight vet hospital. I asked her if I can feed him and her exact words were GIVE HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS TO EAT, MAKE HIM COMFORTABLE. I was relieved inside because I loved my dog so much. He was my son my everything. When we got home I put him on the floor to walk and he was walking like if he was drunk.  I thought to myself they probably gave him something and he's a little woozy. Another thing I noticed was that he wouldn't look at me, he was acting strange. I thought he's probably mad at me cause I took him to the vet. The next morning it was time to give him his medication for his heart and he didn't want to swallow it. I was sitting with him in my arms on bed trying to give it to him. All of a sudden he throws up a little and starts peeing in me. As soon as that happened I knew he was leaving me. He gasped for air and I was shaking him and screaming his name. He became unresponsive. I called 911 and I was screaming at the top of my lungs. My baby left me. It was the most traumatic experience I've ever gone through. After a week I called this vet  to let them know how upset I was. How dare they send my baby home knowing he was going to die without telling me me? They were okay to collect all this money but they didn't have the decency to tell me he wasn't going to make it? They knew he was going to die. I know this because I google on signs that show your pet ending stages and everything that my dog did wasn't because he was mad at me or was drugged up from the vet, he was dying. So when I spoke to them and let them know how upset I was the head Doctor said well according to his chart the dr that discharged him told me don't bring him home take him to a vet hospital he's critical.WHICH WAS A LIE. They covered themselves because they knew. If they would of bedroom honest and tell me he doesn't have much time I would of at least stayed up all night and said my final goodbyes. I had him for 12 years don't you think I would of took him to another hospital for overnight care I asked the vet. His response was What are we God? Like he clearly was the devil himself because he knew my dog was going to pass away, Don't bring your pets here Is my advice, Read Less

If I could give this place no stars I would. I have been taking my six animals here for about 8 years. I took my boxer there 2 weeks ago because she was having trouble going to the bathroom and eating. They did nothing for her but gave fluids and an antibiotic. I called two days later because she was still having issues and they were of no help. I brought her to a doctor today because I could tell she was in pain. Within 10 minutes she was diagnosed with end stage colon cancer. I am so angry and frustrated with Rutherford Animal Hospital. My dog who I had for 9 years was in distress and pain and they did nothing but charge me 600.00 for antibiotics, bloodwork, and a visit. They should not be in business. Dr. Sing is very nice & very caring as well as the rest of the staff. Dr. Sing kept us updated as to what was going on with our kitty. I called at night to see how she was doing & I was given an update. I also felt better knowing someone would be there overnight. The next day Dr. Sing called to let us know our kitty was ready to go home. I highly recommend this hospital & their entire staff. I have been taking my Golden Retriever, Kirby, here since we got him as a puppy in April 2009. While he has been seen by several different vets over the years, each one of them has been friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and clearly have a love for animals and for what they do. They always explain any procedures that may or may not need to be done, and will gladly give you a fair estimate of what the procedure will cost in order to help you make a decision - no being surprised by a giant bill after the fact. The other staff members are equally friendly, and not one has ever passed by Kirby without giving him a quick "hi" and scratch on the head :). The facility is always clean, and cats and dogs have separate waiting areas which is awesome for the safety of both, and I would imagine, for the noise level, lol. Finding a spot in the parking lot can be a little iffy, depending on the time of day for an appointment. I only wish they had automatic doors - sometimes it's hard to handle a big dog who can't wait to get out of the building while holding paperwork and/or medication and keys, all while trying to open the door...carrying a tote bag of some kind is probably a good idea...:). If spending $80 for lifestyle opinions equates to veterinary treatment then I must be Tommy the Choo Choo Train.  No you don't live here, no you don't know my cats or my house, I'm here for you to diagnose my pet's health, not tell me to buy a fourth cat tree.Prices are ridiculous, wait times are super painfully long, and the veterinary assistants are not too useful for other than telling them what you will tell the doctor is the reason why you came to the vet in the first place.  Neither doctor nor assistant listen when you give them instructions, like, please do not wrap my cat up in a towel as that will upset him.  Meanwhile, they wrap him up and he's hissing and screaming up a storm.  I would sign a waiver to handle the cat myself, but the pretentious staff here assume they know better than you.Nearly killed my other cat; gave her two shots, then decided it would have been a smart idea to check for allergies.  So, thirty minutes later, puking and shitting everywhere, my cat nearly went into anaphylaxis.  To add insult to injury they made us pay for the follow up medicinal treatments to keep the cat alive. Will, under no circumstances, ever take my cats back to this joke of a veterinarian. We had to bring our 11 month old baby in with very scary symptoms and together we were able to come to the conclusion that he had toxic poisoning, through a lot of talking and brain storming together we figured out that unfortunately Norman had gotten a hold of some human medicine and together with the Vets here and at poison control, they were able to come up with a game plan for Norman. Norman made a 100% recovery; it is important to note that Norman was Critical, he was almost completely blind, running a high fever, crying out in pain and had almost no sensation in any of his extremities. Norman stayed over night and the next day; less then 24 hours later we were able to go back to the Vet and pick up our baby boy; the baby boy we had before this horrible incident, they saved his life and we will be forever grateful. Helped my sick 10 year old Corgi tremendous! Very good care! Compassionate and caring. My dog went for an emergency visit due to stress induced colitis. He should have stayed there overnight for IV treatment, however the vet was understanding of my financial situation and was able to provide fluids for Max in another way that I was able to afford and I was able to care for my dog at home. They gave him shots to stop his nausea and medication for diarrhea (his was literally all bloody mucous) and also gave him a shot to increase his appetite as he didn’t want to eat at all since almost 3 days. Few hours after that visit Max felt much better, was hungry and his GI is recovering. I am very happy with the the treatment they provided. Excellent job! While I find the staff to be incredibly caring and friendly (especially all of the vets I have dealt with), and the facility to be extremely clean and well kept - this office has made more "minor" errors administratively than any other business I have had an ongoing relationship with. Every time I bring my cat in there is some kind of clerical or other mistake made. This has ranged from: billing me incorrectly multiple times, recording my appointment time wrong, giving me another cat's medication (which was the completely wrong type of medicine AND had been opened/used already) to most recently when I paid to have his nails & ears cleaned - did not come into the room with him - and realized when I got home they had billed me for a nail clipping but his nails had not actually been clipped. While I appreciate the office as a whole, I worry that I may need to find a new less convenient vet's office to take my cat as I do not know if a future mistake staff makes will prove to be harmful to my pet. $75 for anal glands expression, it's what I was charged today. I called to schedule the appointment and and discussed the reason for the visit. The receptionist scheduled the appointment with a Doctor and not with a technician for just anal glands expression.  Therefore, I was charged for a full exam/ visit. I believe this to be deceptive practice, I was never informed that by being seen by a Doctor my charge would be $150 instead of the normal  $25 for anal glands expressions. While I don't blame the Doctor for charging his fee and he agreed to cut the charge in half.  I place the blame on the office staff for not keeping the customer informed of the varying  pricing structure. As a patron of Rutherford Animal Hospital for over 20 years, with numerous animals, 2 dogs and many cats as I would say I will never go to  this Animal Hospital Again.  In August, I noticed a growth on my dogs leg.  I took her to RAH wherein the Dr. took two aspirations.  She sent these aspirations out for diagnosis.  She then said it looked as though it was Cancer they would have to operate and the surgery would cost $1,600.00.  She gave me antibiotics and sent us home until the results from the aspirations came back. The antibiotics did nothing, and when the results came back, I never received a call,  I had to call the Dr. who proceeded to tell me the results were inconclusive, but if I bring her back in, she will do another aspiration and look at it under the microscope in her office.  The first aspirations cost me, along with the office visit and antibiotics over 350.00.  And the results were inconclusive.I took her then to Twin Oaks in Teaneck, who did two aspirations (which came back cancer), gave her antibiotics, scheduled her for surgery with the estimate of $600.00.  $1,000.00 difference.  Oh and the office visit and the aspirations and medications, two shots and pills cost me $91.00.  The Dr. did the surgery (where he told me there were no guarantees because of where the lump was that we would be able to get it all but we were trying) and there were no hidden costs, $600.00 as quoted, and super nice.  They were compassionate and called my pet by name, showing care the entire way.  RAH, didn't even comfort my pet, knowing the aspirations hurt.  Never will I go there again. My family had relocated to Rutherford and hadn't yet found a new local vet when our cat suddenly had a severe bout of vomiting. Our petsitter had recommended Rutherford Animal Hospital so I gave them a call hoping that they would somehow magically squeeze me in as a same day appointment. When I called I was ready to hear that there was nothing available since I was not a client, but the lovely woman I spoke with was able to get me in just a few hours later. I saw Dr. Trancredi accompanied by a student vet. Dr. Trancredi had a great warm personality and superior bedside manor, and I always love to see a hospital with student vets. I was then given a detailed estimate and my cat was taken in the back for care. The hospital itself is run like a much larger animal hospital. By this I mean that the techs and office staff do a lot of the initial checks and discussions about the bill estimate that normally would be done by the vet at a smaller hospital. Despite this I didn't feel rushed at all when I had time with the vet and she was perfectly willing to answer any questions I had. Also she was extremely conscious of my time, which I found really thoughtful and something I hadn't experienced before when waiting at an animal hospital. I was given accurate timelines for the treatments and never felt like I was left waiting with no answers. The bill itself was expensive (I was surprised that their regular exam fees were more than I was paying in Queens), but I don't think any more so than if I had gone to an emergency vet so I don't think it was outrageous. I think I have definitely found a new practice for my pets. Read Less

Misdiagnosed my kitten, despite being told he had his vaccine four days earlier and he almost died. He had a temp of 104.6 and was limping when I brought in as an emergency. He was given x rays, which I was later reimbursed for and sent home...I was told by the vet that he had a temp from pain because he was limping... Complete rubbish... Later that day, I took his temp and it was 106.7, so I rushed him to Oradell... He was given IV fluids and benadryl and kept overnight... Next day he was fine... It was a vaccine reaction. I would never take any of my cats or kittens here again unless a specific vet was on duty. When I called the vet from Oradell, she didn't seem to give a damn that she misdiagnosed my kitten. Limping kitten syndrome is well known to most vets and equals vaccine reaction... Shame on this vet Read Less

Our dog was treated with compassion and we were given options as to the course of treatment. Doctor even suggested doing the less expensive tests first since it was the holidays and didn't want us to get stuck with a high bill right off the bat. I appreciate that. They were fantastic. My dog has to get fluid drained from her each month she's old and dying slowly. When they went to take her in to the room for her second time having this done she refused to go. So the doctor and 2 other girls came and sat on the floor with a towel fluid got all over them. My dog would not let them put the needles in with the catheters. They kept on coming out. And they were still able to drain at least 1 L of fluid out. They wanted 2 but they got one. But this is a monthly process. The price tag friend is a mear $100. Worth every penny to keep her alive for as long as possible. My doctor was fantastic. So were the girls. Everybody had fluid on them I even had it on my sneakers. I was referred to this animal hospital by another Vetenarian Dr for cat Dental procedure. At the hospital three girls Alexandra, Donna& Shaina at the front desk. I asked the "girls" behind counter to let me know HOw much it would cost Me before the Dr. sees my cat and does any procedures. All three ladies reassured me that I would get a free estimate prior to seeing Dr. No charge will be on me without prior authorization Alexandra added. I waited and then we were escorted to a private room. Then Brittany, enters the room and takes my cat weight and information I also ASked her How Much will this cost me she also told me that the Dr.will see me and give me a free estimate. At this point Four 4 young ladies told me I will receive a FREE estimate. Dr. Petrone then enters sees my cat and reiterated the exact same thing other two animal vets from two different hospitals told me and I already know my cat needs dental work in addition she adds She does Not know what causing her rash but she can give me estimate for dental procedures. After Dr. leaves Stephany came to room and hands me two bills one for $169 bill and another for the amount of $1,039.62 and tells me this is on the low end dental Estimate. Confused I asked why did no one tell me there was a charge for office visit or how much! Donna said "l should have known free estimate did not include Office visit ," but when I asked How much this visit would cost NO one told me including herself that I would be charged for office visit or how much!I was told all four times answer was always FREE estimate? An hour later Shaina said that they did not tell me how much office visit would be because they did not know what the vet would charge? After an already 8 1/5 hours waiting to see two Dr.s in ONe day I agreed to pay reduce bill and leave. I brought my dog in because he needed to be seen in an emergency situation. He was diagnosed with pancreatitis and needed to be kept overnight on fluid to ensure he would stay hydrated through the night. That was over $1100. A few days after coming home he starts with a small cough that wasn't getting better. So I called the office and told them he had what appeared to be kennel cough which he probably got when he stayed overnight. They told me they he couldn't have gotten it there and it probably wasn't kennel cough but after speaking with a few people and making a fuss they agreed to see him without charging me. The vet stated that he did indeed have kennel cough but they would still have to charge me for the medication even though he most likely got it from his overnight stay. ($200) Of course I have another dog at home who also got kennel cough a few days later since it's very contagious. I didn't take her to Rutherford since I was already deeply annoyed at there lack of providing a sanitary condition and taking full responsibility for it. I had recently adopted two kittens who I brought to RAH for an overall check. One of my kittens was diagnosed with ringworm. At this time we were seeing Dr. Sing. This was the first I have heard or/experienced ringworm so I had no knowledge of treatment options so I relied on Dr. Sing's expertise as a vet. She only wanted to treat the one kitten who had signs of ringworm and not my second kitten even though I made it very clear that the two could not be separated (ringworm is contagious). After expensive weekly treatments that required me to take time off work, I brought my kitten back in for a final check and Dr. Sing gave her the all clear without performing any tests or cultures on her. Two days later, I saw a ringworm lesion on my other kitten.  On a side note, Dr. Sing nickel and dimmed me for every single thing she did. I even got a charged for her cutting the kitten's nails. Knowing that i was spending hundreds of dollars on treatment it would have been nice for her to at least cut their nails that took maybe 1 minute for no charge.Extremely annoyed that I wasted all that time and money on treatments only to start from scratch it was clear that Dr. Sing had no clue how to properly treat my kittens. Starting the process over I was armed with knowledge from the internet and I was now seeing Dr. Sas. She told me I should be treating both kittens and gave a complete overview of everything I needed to know for ringworm. I continued with the expensive weekly treatments for both kittens and brought them back for a check up and culture. Dr. Sas continued to be encouraging, knowing how difficult it is to have pets with ringworm. Fast-forward 2 weeks later I called to make an appointment with Dr. Sas for the kitten's final culture only to be told Dr. Sas was no longer with the practice. So now I am seeing a 3rd doctor, Dr. Chang, who seems to know what she is doing. I would have found another vet but I'm so close to the finish line for healing my kittens that I am afraid switching will end up costing me more money. The front desk staff is friendly but they don't always know what they are doing. I call to make appointments or refill a prescription and sometimes it is like pulling teeth to get them to do what I am asking. Overall my experience with RAH and especially Dr. Sing has not been positive. If you plan to go here do yourself a favor and request anyone but Dr. Sing. Read Less

On Sunday, May 15, 2016 I took Max, a bichon frise, to this facility because he had injured his cheek due to excessive scratching. Given that I was there and had missed his Shake a Paw appointment on April 2016, I had bloodwork done as well while at the hospital. The nurse was kind and caring but the veterinarian made our experience the worst. After weighing Max, the nurse took him inside to be examined. The vet brought him back and said she doesn't see anything wrong with his cheek. I mentioned several times that he was bleeding the night before and that his skin is bloody and irritated. She was dismissing us saying there is nothing wrong but I insisted that she checks him. I asked her if she had examined him and her response was that she couldn't see much because Max had attempted to bite her and the staff. What kind of response is this? I asked her for some wet cotton balls so I could show her where the wounds were at. She rolled her eyes and with a nasty attitude not only gave me some wet cotton balls but said that I look afraid of my own dog and that how was she supposed to examine him. I couldn't believe how unprofessional she was acting. I was upset at the situation and not afraid of my dog. She had this confused face not knowing what to do. When I've taken Max for his shots elsewhere, the vets know how to handle the dog. They don't come back and say "Sorry we couldn't give him his shots because he attempted to bite us". What kind of response is this. Plus keep in mind that she couldn't examine his cheek, the main reason I was there for, afraid of getting bitten YET she was able to draw blood. Please explain this. How can a vet treat a dog like this? I left the vet feeling so puzzled and disappointed. If this is how this facility handles my pet when he has irritated skin, I cannot trust them for other serious conditions. Read Less

I wish I could give this place negative a million stars. The MOST unprofessional place I have ever been in my life -- between all of the restaurants, schools, organizations, doctors, etc. I have ever dealt with.About 2 months ago, my sweet dog was tragically hit and killed by a car. I rushed my dog to Rutherford Animal Hospital, but she was already gone. I was a mess - I don't even remember the whole debacle, but it's not even about that, it's about what happened following this horrific time of my life. While at the vet the day of my dog's untimely death, I paid in full for her individual cremation. They told me I would have them back in a couple of weeks. About a month goes by -- still heard nothing. I decided to call Rutherford Animal Hospital to find out what was going on with my dog's cremains. Turns out my sweet dog's body was STILL in their freezer. They NEVER sent her body out for cremation. Can you believe that? A dog's dead body sitting in a freezer for over a month. What would they have done if I never called to check on her cremains? Who knows who was to blame for this. I don't even care- there was barely an apology. The receptionist had to deal with me and the office manager NEVER reached out. They offered a 20% refund for my "troubles". What a joke. I didn't even accept the 20% - felt like it was insulting. To add insult to injury, when I went to FINALLY pick up my dog's cremains, the date of her birth on the paw print was WRONG. They put 2010 when my dog was in fact born in 2009. There's no way they can fix this since clearly there is no longer a paw to print. Again, NOT apologetic at all. Oh, and a week later they were more than happy to send me a receipt for the cremation, but NEVER sent a sympathy card. I always believed that people who work in the veterinary field really cared for animals. This place doesn't care about the animals who they service. All they care about is making money. Do yourself a favor and find a place that actually cares about the animals they are caring for. Read Less

I booked an appointment there for my puppy's digestion disorder. The front desk is neither very professional nor welcoming. I was called in 10 minutes late which is, to me, pretty acceptable. The doctor's assistant was wonderful, she really seemed to care about the pup and liked her job, which is why I'm comfortable giving the place the 1 little star on this review. The doctor was okay (but far from fantastic). She was very dry and didn't seem to be listening to my concerns or questions. She answered before I had even finished formulating anything. She didn't ask questions about the pup's diet, which was essential to his condition. It was all about testing testing testing (of course, it costs money). The doctor was also very bossy with me. While the (poor) pup was about to get a rectal touch (sorry for providing details here), she almost yelled at me: "don't give him treats right now he is already sick". Even though she might be right, I certainly did not appreciate her tone towards me and her lack of compassion for the puppy. Finally, the 2 things that made me white this negative review:-the checkout took 45 minutes of me, waiting for the front desk to do their jobs, which was: 1) giving me dog diet food, 2) giving me some medication, 3) providing a pack of probiotics and 4) charging me for it. Everything seems to be very disorganized, nobody knew what they were doing and I wasted a tremendous amount of time in that place.-as mentioned above they gave me a pack of probiotics for the pup that they charged me 55 dollars for. These very same probiotic bag costs 12 dollars online.Personally, I call that a rip off. I will never be going there again because they wasted my time and are not trustworthy, plus they are very average (not to say poor) at what they do. Read Less

We have an English Bulldog and we looked far and wide around Northern NJ to ensure our pup would be with a place that understood the uniqueness of our breed.Rutherford, from Day 1, was lovely in welcoming us in with open arms (and paws). They treat our little Monster like family: showering him with pets and treats. Our dog never has any issues coming in with the team and letting them take him away for a bit. We've been coming here now for almost a year and we still cant be happier! They also do boarding, in case you need someone to watch your pet for a long period of time - they let you book the dates in advance and, if anything pops up that you need to adjust, they are extremely flexible. I went on multiple ferret websites to find a vet, including ferrethealth.org/vets, which is really helpful in quickly locating a place. Rutherford Animal Hospital was the place closest to where I live, which is really convenient because it's right near my dad's business! I have seen Dr. Cantamessa multiple times now and am so grateful to have found her! My one ferret Duchess just got diagnosed with Insulinoma and Dr. Cantamessa has been very vigilant in trying to get her blood sugar up. I think we've been successful as my little Dutchie has been a lot more active recently, climbing all over everything, and being her crazy old self again!! She has also been monitoring my other ferret, Grizzly, who has been having all kinds of weird issues that we are trying to get to the bottom of. Dr. Cantamessa is very practical in treating him instead of running all kinds of unnecessary (and probably expensive) tests right off the bat. I feel comfortable with the attention and care that they are both receiving, and it goes without saying that Dr. Cantamessa really knows her stuff!Additionally, I have never had any problems making or cancelling appointments. I feel that the wait times are reasonable and the receptionists are always very understanding and accommodating. I once had to rush Grizzly in for an emergency and they took him right away. Thank you for looking after the best interests of my ferrets! Read Less

He asked so many questions to really get to know Lano. Very happy with my visit! and of course Lano pooped on the table during her appt. She was probably nervous....  :) Read Less

RAHO has taken care of 7 of my pups. They now treat my current 4. They have expertly and compassionately treated my Rottie with lymphoma under Dr C who no longer works here. Dr Sing and Dr Trancredi currently treat my 4 and they are superb. Office staff, especially Christine, are helpful and attentive. They even cohosted an adoption with Pitter Patter Puppy House 4 months ago and I'm now the proud parent of a black lab puppy. Dr Beeber was wonderful when my current Rottie sprained her leg and even talked to me at 9:30pm to update me! When a procedure requires a specialty Doctor they do not hesitate to recommend you to another professional.

And they were still able to drain at least 1 L of fluid out. They wanted 2 but they got one. But this is a monthly process. The price tag friend is a mear $100.

Read Less

Brought my dog to get his rabies vaccine. Dr. Beeber was the one who gave him the vaccination. Once I got home he began to shake, itch, vomit, and barely was able to walk. I called up and they wanted to charge me to see him even though my dog was fine before getting the vaccine. She did not want to see my dog without charging me and I explained to her that I am a college student and don't have the financial means to pay for it. She had no sympathy on the phone and didn't really care about the whole situation, on top of that she HUNG UP the phone on my face while I was speaking to her. This vet doesn't care for animals and all they care for is MONEY. What a shame!

Read Less

After seeing two other Vets and realizing my ""son"" had to be euthanized, I arrived at Rutherford Animal Hospital and met Dr. Laquinto. She was courteous, professional and caring. After performing the euthanasia, I received a call confirming that all had gone well and also a statement that proved to me she had gone above and beyond the requirements of her job. She showed she cared and when the time comes for a new animal my decision on the Vet of choice is made. Thank You Dr. Read Less
