Rude staff. My son, who is entering his sr year in high school, is considering studying veterinary science in college. He stopped by SOAH to ask if they would consider a short unpaid internship so he could make a more informed decision regarding his career pursuit. They were short with him, but he decided to stop back in after a week anyway to see if the Dr had a chance to review his resume. The staff was once again, not very welcoming. No one ever got back to him.

My first visit with my dog, Oreo, was March 4, 2018. The first thing I noticed was the office being well-stocked with a variety of preventive medications. Dr. Levine knew how to relax my dog who was a little fearful. He drew blood, gave him his shots and even clipped his nails for the first time. I was in and out in under 20 minutes and the bill was very reasonable. I made a good decision to change vets and hope to have a lasting relationship with Dr. Levine and his staff.

I brought my new rescue pup to South Orange Animal Hospital for a wellness check and they were amazing. I was able to get an appointment the day after I called them, which was great. We met with Dr. Knight and she was amazing. I think she spent 20 minutes alone with my pup giving him a belly rub - i think she would have stayed longer if not for an emergency that came up with another dog. She was also very helpful with helping me choose dog food, treats (frozen kibble in a Kong...brilliant!) and the best way to start crate training. I can't say enough good things about the staff at SOAH. I would definitely recommend taking your pets there.

Our young dog Lucy completely changed over a week from healthy to almost unable to walk. Dr. Knight diagnosed her with Addison's Disease upon examination -- and Dr. Levine confirmed with blood work. She was so weak that even after getting her proper meds she was in and out of their care for 3 days getting IVs etc. They are both wonderful vets and Lucy is back to her normal self (on the proper medication). I cannot thank them both enough. I have used South Orange Animal Hospital for 18 years and would never go anywhere else. Dr. Levine was our vet when we had to make the very difficult decision to put our previous dogs to sleep. His care for my dogs (and compassionate talks with us) during those times were outstanding.

My husband and I had to travel out of state. The veterinarian I used didn't board pets any longer. They referred me to the Animal Kingdom in East Orange who would not take my pet because he was only 13 weeks old. They recommended the South Orange Animal Hospital. I called explained my situation and they agreed to board my pet for a week even though I was not a client. The staff was outstanding and professional. I am now going to use Dr. Levine and his staff for my three pets. Excellent staff and excellent service.

Dr. Levine has been my vet for 22 years. He is a caring, compassionate man who always has time to answer questions and fully explain everything that is germane to your pet's care and diagnoses. Unlike other animal hospitals that I have used (while I am in Florida) he doesn't suggest extra tests to make more money. I have had the occasion to see Dr. Knight, too, who is also a very competent vet who takes her time to explain what you need to know about your pet's care.
I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.

He never has pushed unnecessary services and the fees are always very reasonable. I recently had to say goodbye to my wonderful dog. South Orange Animal Hospital provided outstanding care for our two terriers the past decade: routine care, shots, tick treatment, spaying for the little one, and late-in-life care for the older one (R.I.P.) When we misplaced their shot records and needed them for dog licensing, we got them e-mailed to us in a few minutes. The medical docs we use for our own health should be so responsive. There are vets closer to us. Mark Levine and Diane Knight are the ones we trust and use. Based on two other vet services we used in the past closer to home, South Orange Animal Hospital is giving us as good or better care at more affordable rates.

I went to Red Bank Animal Hospital first knowing something major was wrong w/ my pup and they misdiagnosed, or didn't diagnose anything at all and sent us home. I knew something was wrong and needed a 2nd opinion. I am beyond grateful for South Orange Animal Hospital for that. Dr. Diana made a diagnosis on my dog within minutes and knew the route for treatment to take right away. I trust her wholeheartedly with both my dogs. The staff was absolutely amazing as well - they were all very nice and I didn't realize they all stayed late just to accommodate us. I wouldn't trust any other vet more. Thank you! The other vets there are as unprofessional as the front desk staff. No hello - just a lecture on how terrible you treat your pet. Too busy up selling all the medicine and vaccinations possible. To top it off not even a good bye or we are done nor a thanks for coming. This other vet just walked out and left me and my pet in the exam room to guess what's next... This place has the greatest location - but totally sucks! Thank god I didn't lose my composure... They aren't worth it. A complete joke. Sorry Dr. Levine has to deal with this -- he really is a good vet.

I have been using the South Orange Animal Hospital for over 20 years and they are superb! They taken care of my dogs Shaylynn, Elvis, and KiKi. The also saved a rabbit we were watch 15 years ago. Dr. Mark Levine is dedicated and cares about pets and their owners. He has no problem spending time with the pet owners to understandably explain all the details of the pet's ailment. We moved from Maplewood to Fair Lawn NJ 3 years ago and still travel 45 minutes to South Orange because a Vet like Dr. Levine is a priceless find.

Furthurmore, the amount they had previously given me to have my cat fixed was raised another 100 dollars because whoever I had spoken with on the phone had never informed me that female cats cost more for the procedure. Thankfully a woman in the waiting area informed me that Petco has services that will fix your cat along with other procedures for a WAY more affordable price.

Have only positive things to say about the South Orange vet group. They have watched over our dog for the past fifteen years, thru routine visits as well as a couple of crisis situations. Everyone working there is knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. They also have a fantastic attitude toward both pets and owners. As our dog has grown into his very senior years, the team has been forthcoming and compassionate when addressing our concerns. They are very much appreciated!

I would suggest going elsewhere. My kitten had a bad reaction to her sutures after she was spayed (by an adoption center) and when I took her in to this animal hospital they took one, brief look at her and told me that she would need to be reopened and stitched back up (For over $500). I ended up taking her to a different vet two days later (who actually bothered to take a good look at her and find out what the problem was) and it turns out that all she needed was the smallest shot of cortisone. Two days after the shot, she is almost completely healed and will not be requiring any surgery. I will not be taking either of my cats to this animal hospital again because not only was the building filthy, but they resorted to the most dangerous, expensive option first, before considering what might be causing the reaction.

Rude staff. My son, who is entering his sr year in high school, is considering studying veterinary science in college. He stopped by SOAH to ask if they would consider a short unpaid internship so he could make a more informed decision regarding his career pursuit. They were short with him, but he decided to stop back in after a week anyway to see if the Dr had a chance to review his resume. The staff was once again, not very welcoming. No one ever got back to him.

My first visit with my dog, Oreo, was March 4, 2018. The first thing I noticed was the office being well-stocked with a variety of preventive medications. Dr. Levine knew how to relax my dog who was a little fearful. He drew blood, gave him his shots and even clipped his nails for the first time. I was in and out in under 20 minutes and the bill was very reasonable. I made a good decision to change vets and hope to have a lasting relationship with Dr. Levine and his staff.

I brought my new rescue pup to South Orange Animal Hospital for a wellness check and they were amazing. I was able to get an appointment the day after I called them, which was great. We met with Dr. Knight and she was amazing. I think she spent 20 minutes alone with my pup giving him a belly rub - i think she would have stayed longer if not for an emergency that came up with another dog. She was also very helpful with helping me choose dog food, treats (frozen kibble in a Kong...brilliant!) and the best way to start crate training. I can't say enough good things about the staff at SOAH. I would definitely recommend taking your pets there.

Our young dog Lucy completely changed over a week from healthy to almost unable to walk. Dr. Knight diagnosed her with Addison's Disease upon examination -- and Dr. Levine confirmed with blood work. She was so weak that even after getting her proper meds she was in and out of their care for 3 days getting IVs etc. They are both wonderful vets and Lucy is back to her normal self (on the proper medication). I cannot thank them both enough. I have used South Orange Animal Hospital for 18 years and would never go anywhere else. Dr. Levine was our vet when we had to make the very difficult decision to put our previous dogs to sleep. His care for my dogs (and compassionate talks with us) during those times were outstanding.

My husband and I had to travel out of state. The veterinarian I used didn't board pets any longer. They referred me to the Animal Kingdom in East Orange who would not take my pet because he was only 13 weeks old. They recommended the South Orange Animal Hospital. I called explained my situation and they agreed to board my pet for a week even though I was not a client. The staff was outstanding and professional. I am now going to use Dr. Levine and his staff for my three pets. Excellent staff and excellent service.

Dr. Levine has been my vet for 22 years. He is a caring, compassionate man who always has time to answer questions and fully explain everything that is germane to your pet's care and diagnoses. Unlike other animal hospitals that I have used (while I am in Florida) he doesn't suggest extra tests to make more money. I have had the occasion to see Dr. Knight, too, who is also a very competent vet who takes her time to explain what you need to know about your pet's care.
I cannot recommend this practice highly enough.

Together, they create a fantastic environment for all pets. My puppy absolutely loves going there. When waiting in the room, she'll pace back and forth which ends in shear joy at seeing them - even if she's getting a shot! Don't think I could expect a better vet.

Once they were totally booked and I had to take my dog to another local vet. It wasn't until then that I realized how special Dr. Levine and Dr. McKnight truly are!

Outstanding! Dr. Levine has been our pets' veterinarian for 25 years. He is wonderful with the animals and his medical advice has proved to be right on point. He never has pushed unnecessary services and the fees are always very reasonable. I recently had to say goodbye to my wonderful dog. Dr. Levine and his staff were so comforting and supportive, they made sure we were ok every step of the way - they were gentle and allowed us to stay with her as long as we wanted.

When I looked at the bill even I--with zero animal health training--could see there were ridiculous unnecessary charges tacked on. So I went to South Orange Animal Hospital. South Orange Animal Hospital provided outstanding care for our two terriers the past decade: routine care, shots, tick treatment, spaying for the little one, and late-in-life care for the older one (R.I.P.) When we misplaced their shot records and needed them for dog licensing, we got them e-mailed to us in a few minutes. The medical docs we use for our own health should be so responsive. There are vets closer to us. Mark Levine and Diane Knight are the ones we trust and use. Based on two other vet services we used in the past closer to home, South Orange Animal Hospital is giving us as good or better care at more affordable rates.

I can't thank Dr. Diana enough for her diagnosis and treatment today for my Pug Pepper. I went to Red Bank Animal Hospital first knowing something major was wrong w/ my pup and they misdiagnosed, or didn't diagnose anything at all and sent us home. I knew something was wrong and needed a 2nd opinion. I am beyond grateful for South Orange Animal Hospital for that. Dr. Diana made a diagnosis on my dog within minutes and knew the route for treatment to take right away. I trust her wholeheartedly with both my dogs. The staff was absolutely amazing as well - they were all very nice and I didn't realize they all stayed late just to accommodate us. I wouldn't trust any other vet more. Thank you! The other vets there are as unprofessional as the front desk staff. No hello - just a lecture on how terrible you treat your pet. Too busy up selling all the medicine and vaccinations possible. To top it off not even a good bye or we are done nor a thanks for coming. This other vet just walked out and left me and my pet in the exam room to guess what's next... This place has the greatest location - but totally sucks! Thank god I didn't lose my composure... They aren't worth it. A complete joke. Sorry Dr. Levine has to deal with this -- he really is a good vet.

I have been using the South Orange Animal Hospital for over 20 years and they are superb! They taken care of my dogs Shaylynn, Elvis, and KiKi. The also saved a rabbit we were watch 15 years ago. Dr. Mark Levine is dedicated and cares about pets and their owners. He has no problem spending time with the pet owners to understandably explain all the details of the pet's ailment. We moved from Maplewood to Fair Lawn NJ 3 years ago and still travel 45 minutes to South Orange because a Vet like Dr. Levine is a priceless find.

We've been very happy with the South Orange Animal Hospital since the early 1980s! Dr. Levine is wonderful, and he and his caring staff have been with us through three dogs and a rat. They are caring, thorough, willing to answer questions and they really care about the animals they treat. We were there just today with a poorly dog and Dr. Knight took excellent care of him. I am very confident that my pets are in the best hands when they are being seen at the South Orange Animal Hospital.

When we moved to the area and needed a vet we came here and have never regretted it. The staff is easy going and both vets we've seen have fielded all questions, our dog has reacted well to them, etc....

The staff is easy going and both vets we've seen have fielded all questions, our dog has reacted well to them, etc. It's easy to make an appointment and front desk staff has always been easy for the little things - stopping in to buy flea medicine, dropping off urine samples, etc. has the feel of a trusty spot that's been in the neighborhood for awhile, which we like.

I had to call Dr. Mark on his cell in the early am before they opened and he did not mind a bit- told me to rush the cat in because Bandit was probably blocked and this could be serious. When we showed up, the staff was expecting us- he made a call to the office to let them know we'd be there and what was going on. They are lovely and know their animals!!!

We have been with South Orange Animal Hospital for so many years we have lost count. Dr. Levine has saved the lives of our dogs on numerous occasions. He thinks out of the box, he is creative and never gives up. Twelve of our dogs have been rescues. Most came to us In very bad shape. Some were badly abused. I called to make an appointment for my cat to be neutered and the next day when I went in for the appointment the receptionist said she had.no one in.the system under my name. Furthurmore, the amount they had previously given me to have my cat fixed was raised another 100 dollars because whoever I had spoken with on the phone had never informed me that female cats cost more for the procedure. Thankfully a woman in the waiting area informed me that Petco has services that will fix your cat along with other procedures for a WAY more affordable price.

Have only positive things to say about the South Orange vet group. They have watched over our dog for the past fifteen years, thru routine visits as well as a couple of crisis situations. Everyone working there is knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. They also have a fantastic attitude toward both pets and owners. As our dog has grown into his very senior years, the team has been forthcoming and compassionate when addressing our concerns. They are very much appreciated!

I would suggest going elsewhere. My kitten had a bad reaction to her sutures after she was spayed (by an adoption center) and when I took her in to this animal hospital they took one, brief look at her and told me that she would need to be reopened and stitched back up (For over $500). I ended up taking her to a different vet two days later (who actually bothered to take a good look at her and find out what the problem was) and it turns out that all she needed was the smallest shot of cortisone. Two days after the shot, she is almost completely healed and will not be requiring any surgery. I will not be taking either of my cats to this animal hospital again because not only was the building filthy, but they resorted to the most dangerous, expensive option first, before considering what might be causing the reaction.
