I took my cat to her twice, and both times I left out of her office with more unanswered questions than when I arrived.  The facility is not horribly dirty, and her prices are not too bad but her experience in caring for animals is lacking.  My 2nd visit with her was the last straw, my cat is 9 years old and has been urinating quite a bit, loosing weight, and just not thriving the way he used to.  I went to TLC in hopes that there would be a medical diagnosis for the issue instead she spent most of the visit criticizing the carrier he was in and the fact that he peed in it.  She did not even take a urine sample, she just handed the carrier to the vet tech with a look of disgust to have it cleaned out.  She told me the only way to diagnose the cat was to take blood work, which she said she couldn't do that day because she needed a particular girl in her office to help her take the blood.  So I left her office with no answers for my sick cat, and still had to pay $60.00.  What a waste of money and time.... I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, it's a waste of time and money.  If you are interested in getting your ear chewed off about her animal rescue experiences for at least a half hour.  Or how she mistakenly took anesthesia and passed out while trying to administer it to a cat she was going to perform surgery on then this is the place for you. My mom, a senior on a fixed income, was recently ripped off by a local vet. He charged her $600 for exam, vaccines and a grooming. My brother went to negotiate the bill down and they dropped it to $400 again, for exam, shots and getting groomed. The family had to chip in to pay this because my mom couldn't afford it.Now, my mom is in the hospital and her senior dog is being cared for by a relative who said the dog's mouth was bleeding. Not wanting to get ripped off again, I contacted several places for a referral for a good, affordable vet and was referred to TLC by the Linden shelter. After reading the mixed reviews, I was leery but we really needed an affordable vet and the dog needed to be looked at asap!My sister took the dog in and had a great experience! The Vet was compassionate, knowledgable and really affordable!We are so grateful for the care we received there. The dog had a tumor in her mouth that had been there for a long time and the $600 vet never even found it during his "exam" just two months prior!Dr. Negrin removed the majority of tumor that would not involve extracting teeth, cleaned the dog's teeth and gave us antibiotics for $240! Having our mom in the hospital has been very stressful and Dr. Negrin made this procedure with our mom's dog very stress free!We plan to have our mom continue using this vet in the future! Read Less

Hello everyone My name is Rakir Adams . I'm an ex employed at TLC pet doctor . I only worked for her for two weeks an I have to say it was one of the worse experience I had . its not the animals its her . so anybody that's even thinking about working there think twice or just see for yourself . I promise you'll say this guy was not kidding . She is the worse person of worse to work for . Now when you first talk to her everything seems cool until you start working there . She does not train you at all , you ask her a questioned to learn something and she'll say I don't have time for stupid questions but then when a client comes in she expects you to know what to do . She yells at you 24/7 and on top of that she complains that she don't have time to train but when you walk pass her office she has time to be on Facebook or play Farm ville . She always would tell me how doctors are here and employee are here . she would talk about a lot of her clients and also her employees . she does not check up on the animals like she suppose too to make sure that thiere okay instead she would be on Facebook or playing Farm ville . Trust me I'm not lien about any of this . You can try to work for her and you would see what I'm talking about . Its the worse of the worse . also with clients calling she would have her tecs answer the phone and a lot of the clients would have important medical questions and I go to her to let her know that the client has a medical question and she would say its not my job to be on the phone . she say's a doctor never suppose to be on the phone so take a message or tell them to make an appointment and I'll feel bad not knowing what to say to them because I know its not true but all I got to say people please go to another vet instead of her . Took my dog because he had a very bad cut. They accepted us as a walk-in very late in the evening. She was very knowledgeable and caring towards my dog and us. She examined him and asked us to bring him back in the AM for surgery. Dr. gave him something to hold him over through the night because she doesn't like to put Pets to sleep late in the evening and I appreciated her concern and thoughtfulness. As a first time dog owner, I brought my puppy to his first doctor's visit and here, today, we met Dr. Negrin. She is a compassionate and knowledgeable woman in whom I felt very confident in her care giving abilities. In addition after reading some of the other reviews before writing my own, the people who have an issue with her I'm sure are either exaggerating or were the cause of their own issues discussed. Writing a bad review to let others know that you are not the best vet and may want to consider a second opinion. This isn't to bash you or do with ill intent but it is so no one else has to go through what we went through and is still going through. You misdiagnose our dog by saying he was gaining weight and we listened to you thinking you were an expert at your job. We started walking our dog more often and put him on a little diet to help him get better. Only to later find out from another vet that he wasn't gaining weight but dying of cancer and if we would have known that when we bought him to you we could have made his last days more memorable. You are getting a bad review because when we bought it to your attention that you misdiagnose our dog you showed a lack of sympathy and when asked for a refund you refuse to do. Since you made a mistake admitting it and refunding us our 50$ would have been the right thing to do. We love our dog very much we had him for 12 years and in a house of 6 we all had a unique bond with him and you took that away from us between the time of us visiting you and getting a second opinion we could have had 16 days to make his last days more memorable if you did your job properly but because you chose not to we are mourning the lost a family member.Read Less

I worked as a tech with Dr Negrin at her first job out of Veterinary school.  Pretty quickly, It was felt that she needed to do a residency somewhere to get more experience because her anesthesia and surgery skills were not there. She was let go within the first year.   So, as I'm reading the reviews, I see she is still lacking the same skills 16 years later.   Please read all the reviews here and heed their advise before deciding to bring your pet to her.  A cheap rate is NOT a good enough reason to put up with an incompetent vet. My mother's dog had to be euthanized one evening, near the end of office hours. We had never been here but she understood the situation and took us at the end of her day. Even stayed late with us. Very compassionate, empathetic and understanding. Thoroughly explained everything she was doing. Very reasonably priced as well. I would recommend this practice to anyone. Read Less

I don't appreciate this doctors lack of compassion. We had been going here for YEARS with two different dogs. We only found out recently that my grandmothers temporary carer was taking advantage of my grandmother all this time and found out the vet had banned my grandmother from coming back to this vet without any consideration towards my grandmothers situation and did not even tell her to find an alternative way of getting there. This was after my grandmothers carer made a stink in the office. NOT MY GRANDMOTHER. My grandmother has always been kind respect. Did whatever needed to be done. And paid. We appreciate all the things she had done for our pets at the time. But when my grandmother moved out of state last week, we had to visit a different vet to get the examination and vaccinations necessary for flight approval. My family is not judging what she does for the animals. But her attitude towards the people who had come through the door. After years of loyalty to this vet, we felt like it was a slap. We're very disappointed. And even if we were allowed to come back, we would choose not to considering the lack of consideration my grandmother was given.Read Less

Today was my first time going to TLC Pet Doctor and as soon as I walked in I felt I was in the right place. Incredibly clean and friendly atmosphere, the staff was personable and kind. Dr.Negrin was awesome with my dog Roxy and she identified the problem and gave me many cost effective solutions. You can tell Dr.Negrin truly loves her profession and has compassion toward all animals. Roxy and I will be going to TLC Pet Doctor for a long time. I do not know what to make of this doctor, she seems very intense and dedicated and nervous at times, controlled at other times. All in all if you like a woman with fast talk, stories and a quirky personality that is dedicated to the task this is your doctor. She works hard at it and tries hard, this is her life. Yes, Dr Negrin is quirky. No I wouldn't be best buddies with her, but she is experienced and the most affordable vet we've gone too. My little shih tzu had an infected cut on his leg and needed stitches. She gassed him, clean out his wound, gave him stitches, a cone, and antibiotics: for $175. My husky mix had a bad tooth that needed to be pulled and his teeth cleaned: $200, when other places start at $600 for a teeth cleaning. I took my two cats for here for their 3yr Rabies shots and Dr. Negrin was really nice. It was quick and I had no problems what so ever. I never dealt with her before or taken sick animals here for care so I cannot comment on that, but for routine shots and physical she was great. Read Less

I REPEAT DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!!!!!!My dog was deathly ill and I was bringing her here and after about 5 days of not seeing any improvement I switched to a vet in a different town and she began recovering THE NEXT DAY. One of my neighbor's friends brought her puppy here and died as a result of this woman's crazy, disorganized ill run business. She will yap your ear off for hours about the dog catcher trying to hook up with her, the police trying to sue and kill her and how she is almost bankrupt because of all the lawsuits. (I kid you not..look up google reviews if you think i'm kidding) She has literally kept me there 30 minutes just talking about her life. You will wait very long even with an appt. because she does this to all her patients.My 9 month pup is in good health now but with no thanks to her. Check my review for Dr. Blaicher in North Plainfield for her health. THIS WOMAN WOULD HAVE KILLED MY DOG. To be quite honest, I have my suspicions she is under some sort of drugs. The receptionists are not helpful or friendly. The place looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ten years. The animals stay in a small, ill vented room in cages.. She says she even sleeps here.....ugh can't complain enough about this woman. The location is conveinent but at what cost?
