Dr. K is my cat's hero. This vet has been in business for 40 years and has a proven reputation. Has beautiful surgery suite, and offers boarding for cats and dogs. I recommend this hospital to my friends. Read Less

To board a dog here they require extra immunizations (two types of influenza). My vet said this was ridiculous given there haven't been any cases, and he only carried the most common strain of k9 influenza (and also immediately knew that we were boarding there because they the only kernel that requires these needless shots). When I brought the shot record to the kennel at West Trenton they said they'd have to administer the rare strain of the shot (for $33) the day we drop the dog off. This is ridiculously stupid given that it takes two weeks to get immunity from a vaccine. This means that my dog world get NO benefit from the shot for the one day stay at the kennel. This seems like a scam to get people to pay for needless shots. I immediately found alternate accommodations for my dog. Read Less

I cannot say anything terrible about the staff and Drs. Dr. K hands down has helped me tremendously with animals over the years and my dog when when he got sick w cancer. We have trusted Dr. K with three dogs for the last 30 years - he has always advised us in the best interest of our dogs and provides excellent care. His staff is exceptional, and they always treat myself and my dog with compassion. Had a problem with my cat not using the litter box, and though the root cause was not medical, found the process of determining this quite comforting. Also of note, have had my cat boarded here numerous times: All without incident, and never came home w. an upset animal. Read Less

Every time i call to order food for my cat the staff does not put the order in. I called a week before Christmas and never received a call to say his food is in. This kind of thing happens all the time! One time i was told to call back and talk specifically to one person to order his food. How is that convenient for me in any way? How hard is it to order food? They need a new system on how this is done. It's ridiculous that my cat might not have food to eat because the staff is incompetent. We've taken our 55-lb mutt here for about five visits, for various things, and we are really happy with the entire experience so far--desk staff, vet assistants, the two vets we've worked with, and the prices. With a different vet in the area we felt that we were constantly being up-sold, but not here. And the people have been great, and done a good job. Read Less

Nee to the area and took my 9 yr old cat in for a checkup, the vets and techs are/were all wonderful, very helpful and informative. I also liked that for a relatively healthy indoor cat they provide you with the information and allow you to chose how protected you want your pet. Fast forward a few months and we adopted a puppy and my already high impression of this group went through the roof. Puppy had kennel cough and then worms. For the kennel cough they saw him asap on a Sunday afternoon and Dr. Hoffman spent over an hour going through meds and feeding and general "new puppy parent" information. Then we saw Dr K for his follow up shots and the worms two days later. Dr K was amazing also. Taking the time to go through, advise, and explain at both the regular visit and the worm follow up. Hoping the pup is on the mend and we see less of the vet, but I know they will take good care of both animals and their humans. Read Less

When it comes to our cats, I get very emotional, as I feel that I am their voice.I went there twice this week, each time with a different cat.The place is big, clean and easy to access. They have a huge parking and a big waiting room so you and your dogs don't have to sit with me and my cat. They sell a lot of food and treats, both for cats and dogs and the place is very charming.But once you're there, be ready to leave with a lighter wallet, cause any opportunity to take your money, they will.First, even with an appointment, and even if you're the only customer at that hour (and we were on a Sunday morning), you will have to wait. In my two appointments, I was seen 10 minutes late. Once you are shown to a room, you will talk to the assistant (Like a nurse), and explain in detail what's wrong with your pet.Eventually, the vet showed up, and after examining my cat, used the scare factor to get my cat on some herpes treatment. My cat had a cold and already was injected with antibiotics.Though my cats don't have herpes, the vet, both times, talked to me about a life long treatment to keep herpes into remission and she highly recommended it many times.My second cat had a small conjunctivitis and after giving him eye drops twice a day, was getting much better, but he was scheduled for a vaccine, so I brought him.When the vet saw the eye, she said it was in terrible shape, and that he could turn blind and that she would put eye drops. She didn't ask, she opened the drops and put one in my cat's eyes and instructed me to do it 3 times a day for a week. Don't get me wrong, I bought the drops and have been doing it, but it's the fact that I didn't have a choice.Also, with the second cat, she repeated everything she had told me about the herpes and that I really should buy the life long treatment for both, it would be safer.I've had cats my whole life, and I have never had such a pushy vet...Finally I want to say, that my visit plus the antibiotics, on Sunday morning added up to $130.The vaccine and the drops on a Friday came to $100 something. I find it a bit expensive for such a simple procedure. But I did pay and I will return there as it is near my house.But be ready to spend some money. Read Less

The minute the phone at the West Trenton Animal Hospital was answered, I knew I'd found a great place to take my pet for care. My expectations were exceeded. Dr. Tyler is awesome. As a new fur mommy, I've had a million concerns. She has always been patient and worked to resolve my every concern, big or small. My 10 yr. old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has been going to West Trenton Animal Hospital for the past few years. His Vet, Dr. K is simply wonderful - I couldn't ask for a better Vet for my pet. Dr. K treats and cares for Jamie better than my doctor takes care of me. He calls, follows up, gives excellent advise and is so patient, considerate and loving. I'm extremely happy with the care Jamie receives from Dr. K. I wouldn't want any other Vet to care for my pet. Our dogs spent the New Year's Eve holiday here. They were well cared for, clean and did not have diarrhea when they came home. This was a huge problem in the past with other facilities. The staff is very friendly and patient. The rates are affordable. My husband and I highly recommend West Trenton Animal Hospital! Read Less

Dr. K is the best, I live in Delaware and I brought my Chihuahua, Coco, to see him. She wasn't doing too good when I brought her in the Spring. Now since she is on Gabapentin for nerve pain she is a new fur child. Thanks again for your love of animals. Read Less

I love WTAH!  I moved to New Jersey for two years (recently returned to CA, bye bye winter!), and the whole time I was there, WTAH was the place for my pup, Roscoe. (I was actually inspired to write this review during my search for a new vet here in Cali.) Even though there were a few vets closer to my house, this place was recommended and well worth the extra trip!  The staff are always so friendly and caring to both me and my dog, the parking is ample and convenient, and I can always get an appointment pretty quickly, sometimes even same-day!  Roscoe goes to the vet more often than most dogs, mainly because we're first-time pet owners and think every scrape or sneeze is something major, but they never gave us anything but the utmost in service.  There was even a time that Roscoe broke his dewclaw nail pretty high up and it was bleeding; we weren't sure if it warranted a vet visit, but ultimately we decided to call and check.  They told us to come in just to make sure it was ok, which it was, but I appreciate the fact that they had someone see us right away about something so seemingly minor, and on top of that, they decided not to charge us for the visit!  Their prices are very reasonable and we never felt gouged, like we have at some other places in the past.  I can't say enough great things about West Trenton Animal Hospital!
