Brought our two cats in today, I ended up being almost 30 minutes past our appointment. I called ahead to let them know the mistake. When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly staff who seemed to be more than understanding about my tardiness. After a short wait we were able to see the vet. Again she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was a bit hesitant about the low rating so I wanted to share my experience in hopes that doesn't stop anyone from taking their pets there. Read Less

Brought our two cats in today, I ended up being almost 30 minutes past our appointment. I called ahead to let them know the mistake. When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly staff who seemed to be more than understanding about my tardiness. After a short wait we were able to see the vet. Again she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was a bit hesitant about the low rating so I wanted to share my experience in hopes that doesn't stop anyone from taking their pets there. Read Less

I brought my dog in for an illness visit this morning, as she was lethargic and not eating. The visit started off fine and bloodwork was ordered after a brief physical exam. The results came in and the vet came back stating she didn't like what she saw and circled a few levels for me. She was thorough in her explanation but said my dog was severely anemic with several levels requiring immediate fluids and hospitalization that they couldn't provide. I was told to go to an emergency facility that could provide such services. I told them I was headed to Regional in Turnersville and they assured me they would fax the information from the blood work over to them right away. I called Regional on my way to give them a heads up and explain about the information coming over. It took 20 minutes with traffic to get to Regional and they immediately took my dog back for examination with just my explanation of the results, as they had yet to arrive. We waited. And waited. And the front desk repeatedly tried to call Banfield and received busy tones along with a gone home message. We went back in a room to wait. And wait. And wait. Without the blood results I just paid $244 for, they were at a standstill. After waiting an hour, I called and was told they'd be sent. Some ten or fifteen minutes later they sent blank pages. Then sent a useless summary. Then finally the blood test results after being told that's not what we needed. The vet at Regional took one look at the results and suspected pancreatitis, which coincided with the abdominal tenderness she noted that the Banfield vet didn't note. While I'm not upset about the missed stomach pain (mistakes happen), I am disgusted with the complete communication break down. My dog's treatment was held up for almost 2 hours by incompetence. Waste of money.  Rude staff.  I had my dog on a wellness plan which included teeth cleaning.  Called to set up an appointment and they said they would call to confirm it the day before.  When no one called call me I called and asked if it was still scheduled they told me to drop her off at 7:30am. I showed up and no one was there. Waited about 40 minutes thinking maybe they were late to work.  After waiting went home since I asked the person at petsmart where the Vet was and they had no idea.  No one ever called me when they showed up at Banfield. I had to call them.  I called about every 15 minutes to see if anyone would answer since I had taken off work specifically for this appointment. The phone recording even said they open 7:30 however no one answered my call until about 9.  No one even appologized for the I convince.  When I took my dog back they told me my dog couldn't have this done because of her urine and were afraid the anesthesia could affect her kidneys. Would not refund my money for the teeth cleaning and instead charged me for kidney tests. About a month later I tried to take my dog to overnight boarding but couldn't because they said her bordetella vaccine was out of date. Complete oversight by the vet and staff since that also was supposed to be covered by her wellness plan. When I complained to girl at desk and requested to speak to manager she refused and said she was off that day.  I asked when she would be back and she said she wasn't telling me, nor would she even provide me with the manager's name. Dr. Burg and the entire team at Banfield are wonderful, and the care my puppy has relieved at this office was top notch. We went to Banfield when my puppy started limping after a trip to the dog park. We were given an appointment within 24 hours of our call and the staff was lovely on the phone. Upon our arrival, the nurse was wonderful with the dog, nice to us, and never judgmental. He told us the price of every test, shot, or intervention before he did anything, and without us having to ask. That is a Banfield policy! If there was more than one option for a medicine, we were told the price, pros, and cons of each choice. The staff realizes that price is a concern and never makes you feel guilty for wondering how much things are or having to choose the cheaper option. When we met Dr. Burg, after she had examined my dog and how he walks previously, the first thing I noted was that my dog already LOVED her. After less than 10 minutes, he was a huge fan. She took a long time to show us what she was concerned about and explain the entire situation to us. We never felt rushed. Honestly, when she is with you and your pet, it's like your pet is her only patient. The day after our visit, Banfield called to see how he was doing, and followed up throughout the week. After two bad experiences at other vets, I am grateful to have found Dr. Burg and the Banfield team. I would highly recommend this office to anyone! Read Less

All this place cares about is how much money they can squeeze out of you. They do not care about the pet or you. What is the purpose of to keep coming in for consultations and exams for an old dog, who is emaciated beyond belief. They say they don't know what's wrong with her. Very disappointed in Banfield. My dog is lucky to be alive. My pug Chase has been a patient at Banfield since he came to live with us three years ago. He suffers from epilepsy and is on anti-seizure medication to treat that. Recently he came extremely sick, he was vomiting, shaking, unable to hold down food, water or his medication. I called Banfield several times in regards to this and the receptionist never spoke to the veterinarian about his symptoms and never referred me to anyone else, just told me the soonest they could see Chase with three days later, even though he couldn't keep his medication down. That night Chase was barely conscious, shaking, unresponsive, still couldn't eat or drink. I took him to an emergency vet in Turnersville, Regional Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center, who told me it was lucky I brought him when I had. Chase was suffering from severe pancreatitis, was dehydrated and malnourished, running a high fever. The vet there said if I had waited until the doctors at Banfield could see him, there was a good chance he could have died. Chase is still hospitalized but he is coming around with IV fluids and a feeding tube. I spoke with Banfield, who aren't being helpful at all; a woman named Fawn who I never spoke to is claiming she told me to go to an emergency vet. Not only did I never speak to this Fawn, no one ever told me to go to a hospital. I am relieved that my dog is most likely going to make it, but appalled at the standard of care Banfield seems to think is appropriate for their patients. Read Less

I just subscribed to Banfield because my daughter who lives in deptford highly recommended it. I live in staten island, ny where there is also a banfield, summer upstate near the Middletown one, and visit my daughter often in Nj,...I also visit near their Delray beach Fl office. This is the reason I took the plan. I am now reading some not very good feedback and am about to rethink this. I am encouraged by the Deptford one though...that they at least try to read the comments and offer to make a problem right...if that can be done. This is much more than I can say about the FL.... comments...which are serious and not addressed by their director. Now what do I do about my champion breed pomeranian...who travels wherever I go.....??? I am an RN...does anyone know If I can be permitted to stay with my pet during her teeth cleaning? Other than that and the immunizations...I really dont need them for much more....I guess I can bring her elsewhere in an emergency. Read Less

Dr. Burg and the entire team at Banfield are wonderful, and the care my puppy has relieved at this office was top notch. We went to Banfield when my puppy started limping after a trip to the dog park. We were given an appointment within 24 hours of our call and the staff was lovely on the phone. My dog is lucky to be alive. My pug Chase has been a patient at Banfield since he came to live with us three years ago. He suffers from epilepsy and is on anti-seizure medication to treat that. Recently he came extremely sick, he was vomiting, shaking, unable to hold down food, water or his medication. I called Banfield several times in regards to this and the receptionist never spoke to the veterinarian about his symptoms and never referred me to anyone else, just told me the soonest they could see Chase with three days later, even though he couldn't keep his medication down. This is the reason I took the plan. I am now reading some not very good feedback and am about to rethink this.
