I have been bringing my pets (cats, dogs, rabbits) to Academy Pet Hospital for many years. One of my dogs is very shy and Dr. Harris is very patient and understanding with him. My other dog loves the treats she always has. :-) Academy Pet Hospital has always given my pets the best care and I highly recommend them!

I live nearby and had been meaning to switch my small dog’s vet care here and hadn’t yet; however, when I woke up last week to diarrhea and vomiting I brought her in right away. I love that they were able to fit her in same day when I called to schedule an appointment , even though they were busy with surgeries. Everyone at the clinic was so incredibly kind and the vet was amazing. Dr. Harris is very knowledgeable and was very gentle with my sick dog. She even got down on the floor to examine her! I can’t say enough good things about my experience and will bring my Minnie back for her normal vet care going forward. I also appreciate that they were very transparent about the cost of everything. They gave me options from very conservative to just doing a little today and then waiting to see if more aggressive treatment is required if my dog did not improve in 24 hours. The front receptionist made Minnie and Me feel that we were top priority! Making sure all my questions were answered, him and the whole staff were more then caring. The whole team succeed my expectations in what animal care should be! I will be bringing Minnie and any future pets to Dr. Harris for many years to come.

Being new to Albuquerque, we chose Academy Pet Hospital (after going to one other) based upon the high level of care, the “smaller hometown feel”, cost efficiency, friendliness & professionalism of the staff. Our older pup needed his teeth cleaned, an eye tumor removed & some cysts drained. We were called a few times throughout the process to keep us informed on how he was doing. We highly recommend Academy Pet Hospital to anyone looking for high quality, personal care for their pets!

The Dr was so helpful in diagnosing and treating my little dogs gagging cough. He is 16 yrs old but still healthy & happy except for the gagging that was getting worse and worse. After an initial office visit she talked with someone she considered an expert and called to let me know that it was his trachea collapsing - a fairly common thing in old little dogs. The very potent medicine she prescribed has fixed the problem completely as long as we give it to him every 12 hours. We moved both of our dogs from another Vet to Academy and have been very pleased with the attention to detail, excellent return call time, and corteous staff.

My dog and I just moved to Albuquerque. She has a heart condition so i needed to find a good Vet, right away. I stopped in at a different Vet location which is only just up the road from my home, but their attitude was very cold and distant, and they seemed a bit expensive.
I then found out about Academy Pet Hospital. From the moment I booked my appointment over the phone, to when we arrived later in the week for our appointment, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The doctor, and her assistant, spent a considerable amount of time with my dog and me, answering all of my questions. I didn't at all feel rushed, as I have with other Veterinarians. Also, I have made several follow up calls for help and advice, and the doctor was happy to speak with me and help us out.
The prices are very reasonable, and they have a coupon for first time visits, lowering the cost even more.
All in all, it was a positive experience. Most importantly, I've found us our new Vet in Albuquerque!

I've been taking our Labradoodle puppy to Academy Pet Hospital over the last 3 months and they have been wonderful. During our initial appointment, the Vet was very helpful and answered all of our puppy related questions. They gave sound advice on what to expect in the next few months and then got her all squared away with recommended vaccinations/shots. They are available on Saturdays which is a huge plus for our family and they are excellent at sending reminders in advance of the appointments. Every time we visit the office, they are able to see us in less than 5 minutes and they are very quick! I would recommend Academy Pet Hospital for anyone trying to find a welcoming place for their furry friend.

Extremely knowledgeable staff and they take their time to answer questions, provide information on nutrition/general healthcare, & they check back in with their patients to monitor their progress. Visited with a first time parrot that I had researched, felt much more confident in my abilities to take proper care of an exotic bird after working with such an amazing vet!
I’m a Rancher who’s always been responsible for a large variety of animals (known a lot of vets). New to NM, I followed the advice for a veterinarian from the person who gave me the parrot. The Academy Pet Hospital was impressive and services all household pets. Now have a place where I feel safe to take my iguana too even if it is over an hour away from home.

We have been bringing all of our dogs here for well over 4 years and we know all our dogs are well taken care of. Most recently, Academy Pet Hospital had to do surgery on my pup to remove a portion of her intestines due to a stuck toy. They took excellent care of her and did a great job communicating what was going on. Trust them fully!

We have two pets and use Academy Pet. The staff are terrific; our dog and our bird (YES, they can treat avian issues) are so well cared for here. The prices are the best I've encountered in ABQ, and even if the prices weren't good, I 'd continue here based on the professionalism and care. Cannot recommend highly enough. Go, you won't be disappointed!

Being new to Albuquerque, we chose Academy Pet Hospital (after going to one other) based upon the high level of care, the “smaller hometown feel”, cost efficiency, friendliness & professionalism of the staff. During our initial appointment, the Vet was very helpful and answered all of our puppy related questions. Extremely knowledgeable staff and they take their time to answer questions, provide information on nutrition/general healthcare, & they check back in with their patients to monitor their progress.
