This is a very hard subject matter to review. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I urge you to contact Albuquerque Animal Hospice for help. Dr. Moulton is kind, compassionate, professional, caring and very good with animals. We recently had to euthanize our beloved senior English Bulldog. He had been ailing for quite some time and it was a very painful decision. I talked to my regular Veterinarian about euthanasia and I asked for a list of names of Veterinarians who could come to our home to do it. I wanted our dog to die at home, peaceful and comfortable. I saw Dr. Moulton's name on the list and recognized the name because she works at the same clinic as our regular Veterinarian. Dr. Moulton had also treated our dog several times in the recent months when our regular Veterinarian was unavailable. It made me feel better knowing our dog would be treated by someone familiar. We arranged for a time to do it at our home and Dr. Moulton explained the process as well as answered all of my questions beforehand. She stayed with us for almost two hours and took our dog's remains away for us. Dr. Moulton will ask you prior to the appointment what you want to do with your animal's remains. She will present you options if you ask. She uses a very humane and compassionate method. Our dog was sedated first and passed away shortly thereafter. Due to his poor health he did not need the medication needed to cause his death. He died before it could be administered. If he had not died, Dr. Moulton would have used a catheter to do this. The research I have done indicated using a catheter is a method that is easier on the animal being euthanized. Our dog got to pass away peacefully at home surrounded by those who loved him. He was a very important part of our family and choosing at home euthanasia was important for our dog's last moments, his wellbeing as well as our ability to say goodbye to him privately. The cost was $250 and is below the average price for home euthanasia for an animal. Read Less
