Sadly we lost our beautiful dog Goldie recently, after 11 years as a beloved family member. Though it is never easy to say goodbye, the entire staff at Aztec Animal Clinic were compassionate, professional, understanding and accommodating, and made a difficult time easier.In particular, Dr. England was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the process of assessing Goldie's condition and helping us ultimately make that terribly hard choice. She struck the perfect balance between respecting our concerns and being sensitive to our emotions, and providing realistic expectations for Goldie's situation and assisting us with making the most humane decision.Goldie's very peaceful passing was handled by Dr. England and her veterinary assistant with the utmost sensitivity to Goldie and to all of us, in the most patient and kind manner possible. Thank you to Dr. England and the Aztec Animal Clinic staff members from the Thurber family. We cannot thank you enough, and look forward to seeking your loving care for all of our animals in the future.

They have been my 14 year old pugs vets since he was weened. A few weeks ago, he got a tumor that became cancerous . In 10 days I spent $350 on treatments and meds at Aztec. Then I had to make the heart breaking decision to euthanize. They will not cremate him until I have the $140 to pay for it. So for more than a week his body will lay decomposing until I get my paycheck. Aztec Animal Clinic compassion is only as deep as the pet owners pockets!!

I have been taking my dog to this clinic for over 8 years. The doctors and staff at this clinic are absolutely wonderful. They have provided excellent care through the scary medical emergencies to general wellbeing visits for my dog. All of the vets are great but Dr. Georges has been wonderful to work with over the years. Aztec Animal Clinic is by far the best pet clinic I've been to. I've tried some of the PetSmart ones around town as well as some over on the Westside, but I was never satisfied.The staff at Aztec are super friendly and really help calm my dog down (sometimes he gets scared if someone just walks by him on the sidewalk). The place is also really clean, which you'd expect, but is not always the case. I've seen a number of the veterinarians here and all have been very helpful and understanding--I tend to over stress when my pup is sick. The prices here may be higher than other places, but for me and my pup it's worth it. They only suggest what's necessary and don't try to get you to buy every product under the sun like some pet hospitals seem to do. Overall, you can tell they care about the animals and they make the tedious task of bringing my dog to the vet a little easier.Oh, and they even call you back a couple days later for a follow-up to make sure everything is going smoothly! Much appreciated.

These people all really amazed me with their care of my new cat, Tupelo. From the minute I walked in, a friendly receptionist greeted me and then came over to where I was sitting to offer a scent-treated blanket to help with stress. Though I had an appointment, they got me into a room relatively quickly. Doctor Blossom and her awesome tech were so kind and gentle with my new baby that he wasn't nearly as stressed as I thought he'd be. They offered a few treatments based on his wellness exam, and it was under $100. Thanks for the great service and care of animals in ABQ!

This was the most comprehensive and kind practice I have ever been to in New Mexico (and not just regarding animal clinics). The people who work at Aztec truly love what they do and it shows in the quality of care they provide and in their attitudes. Not only did my little lionhead rabbit have excellent care while in their office, but the Dr. and staff called to check in on him and sent a letter of appreciation for choosing their clinic. I was impressed by their level of expertise, knowledge, professionalism, and overall their genuine sincerity. If every business operated the way Aztec does, it would be a joy to run errands and go to the doctor! Thank you Dr. Blossom and staff!

These guys saved my dog many years ago and have since cared for her like she was their own dog. They have veterinarians who can see exotic animals as well, and they always took great care of my ferrets too. Can't be a better clinic in all of Albuquerque. They are always happy to work with me on what tests are really necessary, they make sure that the money I spend goes the furthest for my pets. I hear about the bills people get from other clinics, I think Aztec must also be more reasonably priced than other clinics in town as well.

Dr. Bouchet saw Patch today with 4 hours notice. His quiet demeanor and easygoing personality put her at ease. We have taken all 3 of our dogs to Aztec for their entire lives (the last 8 years) and we cannot say enough about the prompt, thorough care that we receive. We always get a follow up phone call to check in and give us lab results. The staff is incredibly pleasant and quick to do anything to put both humans and dogs at ease!

I just returned home from our first real office visit and was amazed at the care we received at Aztec. Never in my life have I had the inkling to leave my pet at a vet's office just so they could visit with him longer. I genuinely felt they enveloped my disabled kitty in love and care. I'm sure they are more expensive than some but what a great feeling to know that such people are available to help those dear to us. My first experience with Aztec was in January when another very beloved cat suddenly developed a blood clot and had to be put down. I was forewarned that this would eventually happen and I knew to rush him to the vet as soon as possible. He was in such pain that I simply went to the closest vet and that's when I met Dr. Rodriguez. She was an absolute angel in a very difficult situation. It felt good to see her again under less dire circumstances. The technician was also uniquely caring and clearly had a way with animals. The nice pheromone-treated towel they offered us also seemed to help calm my cat. Very happy!

The caring doctors and staff at Aztec have been taking care of my dog and cat family for over 10 years now. I can't say enough about the fabulous care and great advice we receive. They give treats during the exam and keep it low stress for the animal, and genuinely care about them and us. The dogs think the vet is a happy place to go, and even the cat - who had previous unhappy vet experience - has learned to settle down and enjoy all the treats and attention during the annual exam. Aztec doctors and staff have also helped us through the loss of a pet, and really helped us make the right decision at the right time. The facility is bright and light and clean, and there's a separate cat area in the waiting room with pheromone blankets that slip over the cat carrier to settle cats, with dogs in another area to reduce stress on the cats. Dr. McGuire is our regular vet, but we have had great experiences with all of the doctors at Aztec.

I love Aztec. I adopted two cats a couple of years ago but didn't have a vet at the time after our previous vet retired and the clinic changed hands. I chose Aztec because they were close by and I'd heard good things about them, and I haven't regretted it. They have a cat-only section in their waiting area and provide pheromone-infused blankets to help calm their cat patients, and they have adjuvent-free rabies vaccines. The doctor we see is very kind and is always willing to answer my questions, and when I go in to buy the td I need for my ginger cat, it's quick and painless.

This clinic is great! I've previously tried another popular clinic in Albuquerque for my dogs and cat, which was good too, but since I switched here I've been so impressed by the difference. They have a separate sitting area for cats and dogs, as well as scented blankets for the pets to help keep them calm while you wait. The rooms are impeccably clean too. Most importantly, the staff is phenomenal. Everyone seems like they really care about their patients, and the vet I saw (Dr. Georges) was delightful and spent so much time discussing my cat's health in detail with me. She answered all of my questions thoroughly (even the silly paranoid ones) and typed out helpful vaccine schedules and other advice in an easy-to-read format. My cat is pretty nervous but she seemed quite calm here. I'd recommend you check it out if you also strive to stay on top of your pet's health and well being!

They typically involve me pinning my (very large) dog to the floor, the vet not actually being able to examine her at all, and my poor pup feeling completely stressed out and scared. But we have broken this trend with Aztec! Dr. Georges was amazing...she got down on the floor with my dog and set about making friends before any examinations took place. She put both my dog and I at ease, answered all of my millions of questions, was really relaxed, didn't rush us at all, and was super affirming. She even held off on giving my pup a shot so she would have a positive first experience at Aztec. When we returned the following week for the shot, my pup was excited to be back and had no problems! Having a great vet who knows us and who we like is a huge relief!

The entire staff is friendly and courteous and will always help as much as they can. Though it may be pricy, medicine for animals or humans are expensive and having a pet is an investment and an agreement to take care of that animal. Aztec Animal Clinic is a good option for a veterinarian with a heart.

I called around to many vets today, a Saturday, trying to get a last minute appointment for my sick cat. I was shunned away at many places for being a "new patient". From the moment, I called Aztec, they made me feel comfortable and important. They were able to squeeze me in the schedule today, and didn't make feel like I was an inconvenience!
When I arrived, the staff was extremely pleasant and so prompt. Dr. Darbie was so patient with my sick, nervous cat. She spent more time with us than any vet I've ever been to. She gave us a wide range of diagnostic/treatment options and was up front about all of the costs. (Which I appreciated more than I can say) I will definitely be bringing all of my animals here from now on. I will definitely refer Aztec to everyone!

I was very happy with Aztec, it is clean, spacious and friendly, love the separate area for cats to wait. Dr Georges was extremely good with my cat and very knowledgeable, as was the tech, Molly. Alice was so at home, she roamed the exam room, loved on the vet and tech. I do find it a bit pricey compared to others, which is a problem for a retired person on a fixed income, but other than that, I give it five stars. Everyone was super friendly and nice. We were just there for a checkup, but I am sure in an emergency they would be every bit as good.

Dr. Bouchet has been with our family, and our animals, for years and years. He has been with us for some of the best times and some of the hardest times. He is full of compassion, understanding, patience, and knowledge. I finally decided to switch Maximus from our previous vet to Aztec Animal Clinic because it is much closer to our home, and because of the amount of time and care Dr. Bouchet puts into his fuzzy patients. Maximus, my adorable olde english bulldog ,has had a series of unfortunate health issues stemming from a sensitive stomach. I am very cautious about what I feed him; I am usually a helicopter pet parent, because god knows if he eats something he shouldn't I pay for it the next morning. Needless to say, I want my vet to spend as much time as possible listening to me screech about Max and looking at my animals health. Dr. Bouchet gets down and dirty, sits on the floor with your pet, and goes over everything that is important. Seriously, plan to spend time during your appointment going over what's needed and what's not for your pet.If you are the kind of person who is incredibly invested in their pets happiness and wellness Aztec Animal Clinic is absolutely the place for you. Seriously, they take great care of you and your animals.

We love the welcoming attention we and our dog receive from Aztec's staff in the waiting area. Our veterinarian discovered our dog's autoimmune condition early, and although it was a difficult time, she was empathetic and helped us remain optimistic. Our dog is happily strong and healthy again. We appreciate the time given to answer our questions. They truly care about each animal they treat as though it were their own.

My experience at Aztec Animal Clinic was the WORST experience I've had at a vet's office. Dr. Retherford (or however it is spelled) was the most condescending woman I've ever encountered. She is an elitist and would rather put your dog through surgery than look at the possibility of the dog not making it through another surgery because of it's health and age. Also after I had informed her that I had already been giving my dog the medicine she prescribed at this visit and that it was not working, she refused to listen and prescribed the exact same thing (not cheap). It has also been brought to my attention that she is the reason our past vet (at Aztec), but a much nicer woman and more understanding vet, has now left. I will NEVER go back to Aztec because of Dr. Retherford. Everyone else there is very nice. But one person can ruin what is otherwise good.

Dr. Barbara McGuire is one of the most compassionate and warm human beings we have met. Aztec Animal Clinic was recommended to us by my parents, when we first moved to Albuquerque and we have had nothing but excellent care. My sister-in-law is a veterinarian in another state and we feel somewhat familiar with what ingredients make a good one. From the moment you walk in the door at Aztec, you will feel warmth and support - no matter the purpose of your visit. We always recommend them and will never go anywhere else. If you have a pet, definitely consider Aztec and Dr. McGuire. Thank you.

Sadly we lost our beautiful dog Goldie recently, after 11 years as a beloved family member. Though it is never easy to say goodbye, the entire staff at Aztec Animal Clinic were compassionate, professional, understanding and accommodating, and made a difficult time easier.In particular, Dr. England was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the process of assessing Goldie's condition and helping us ultimately make that terribly hard choice. She struck the perfect balance between respecting our concerns and being sensitive to our emotions, and providing realistic expectations for Goldie's situation and assisting us with making the most humane decision.Goldie's very peaceful passing was handled by Dr. England and her veterinary assistant with the utmost sensitivity to Goldie and to all of us, in the most patient and kind manner possible. Thank you to Dr. England and the Aztec Animal Clinic staff members from the Thurber family. We cannot thank you enough, and look forward to seeking your loving care for all of our animals in the future.

They have been my 14 year old pugs vets since he was weened. A few weeks ago, he got a tumor that became cancerous . In 10 days I spent $350 on treatments and meds at Aztec. Then I had to make the heart breaking decision to euthanize. They will not cremate him until I have the $140 to pay for it. So for more than a week his body will lay decomposing until I get my paycheck. Aztec Animal Clinic compassion is only as deep as the pet owners pockets!!

I have been taking my dog to this clinic for over 8 years. The doctors and staff at this clinic are absolutely wonderful. They have provided excellent care through the scary medical emergencies to general wellbeing visits for my dog. All of the vets are great but Dr. Georges has been wonderful to work with over the years. Aztec Animal Clinic is by far the best pet clinic I've been to. I've tried some of the PetSmart ones around town as well as some over on the Westside, but I was never satisfied.The staff at Aztec are super friendly and really help calm my dog down (sometimes he gets scared if someone just walks by him on the sidewalk). The place is also really clean, which you'd expect, but is not always the case. I've seen a number of the veterinarians here and all have been very helpful and understanding--I tend to over stress when my pup is sick. The prices here may be higher than other places, but for me and my pup it's worth it. They only suggest what's necessary and don't try to get you to buy every product under the sun like some pet hospitals seem to do. Overall, you can tell they care about the animals and they make the tedious task of bringing my dog to the vet a little easier.Oh, and they even call you back a couple days later for a follow-up to make sure everything is going smoothly! Much appreciated.

These people all really amazed me with their care of my new cat, Tupelo. From the minute I walked in, a friendly receptionist greeted me and then came over to where I was sitting to offer a scent-treated blanket to help with stress. Though I had an appointment, they got me into a room relatively quickly. Doctor Blossom and her awesome tech were so kind and gentle with my new baby that he wasn't nearly as stressed as I thought he'd be. They offered a few treatments based on his wellness exam, and it was under $100. Thanks for the great service and care of animals in ABQ!

This was the most comprehensive and kind practice I have ever been to in New Mexico (and not just regarding animal clinics). The people who work at Aztec truly love what they do and it shows in the quality of care they provide and in their attitudes. Not only did my little lionhead rabbit have excellent care while in their office, but the Dr. and staff called to check in on him and sent a letter of appreciation for choosing their clinic. I was impressed by their level of expertise, knowledge, professionalism, and overall their genuine sincerity. If every business operated the way Aztec does, it would be a joy to run errands and go to the doctor! Thank you Dr. Blossom and staff!

These guys saved my dog many years ago and have since cared for her like she was their own dog. They have veterinarians who can see exotic animals as well, and they always took great care of my ferrets too. Can't be a better clinic in all of Albuquerque. They are always happy to work with me on what tests are really necessary, they make sure that the money I spend goes the furthest for my pets. I hear about the bills people get from other clinics, I think Aztec must also be more reasonably priced than other clinics in town as well.

Dr. Bouchet saw Patch today with 4 hours notice. His quiet demeanor and easygoing personality put her at ease. We have taken all 3 of our dogs to Aztec for their entire lives (the last 8 years) and we cannot say enough about the prompt, thorough care that we receive. We always get a follow up phone call to check in and give us lab results. The staff is incredibly pleasant and quick to do anything to put both humans and dogs at ease!

I want to give my utmost thanks to Dr. Rodriguez and the terrific staff at Aztec for their compassionate and aggressive response to the life-threatening experience of my puppy Torrey this week! We are not out of the woods yet but I am hopeful that we will soon be able to put this behind us. I have been bringing my labs to Aztec since I first moved here in 92 and they were in a strip mall at San Mateo and Zuni. Truly the best in town!

I just returned home from our first real office visit and was amazed at the care we received at Aztec. Never in my life have I had the inkling to leave my pet at a vet's office just so they could visit with him longer. I genuinely felt they enveloped my disabled kitty in love and care. I'm sure they are more expensive than some but what a great feeling to know that such people are available to help those dear to us. My first experience with Aztec was in January when another very beloved cat suddenly developed a blood clot and had to be put down. I was forewarned that this would eventually happen and I knew to rush him to the vet as soon as possible. He was in such pain that I simply went to the closest vet and that's when I met Dr. Rodriguez. She was an absolute angel in a very difficult situation. It felt good to see her again under less dire circumstances. The technician was also uniquely caring and clearly had a way with animals. The nice pheromone-treated towel they offered us also seemed to help calm my cat. Very happy!

The staff at Aztec has gone above and beyond expectations. They always answer my frantic calls, they are afforable, and their staff treats my babies like royalty! We just adopted a beautiful dog and Aztec Animal got us in right away to get her checked out. The staff were extremely friendly and very kind to us. Our vet, Dr. McGuire, was the best I have ever been to. She did a thorough examination and was extremely patient with my pup. She was also helpful in getting our dog the proper vaccinations before we move to a different state. I wish I could take her with us to be our vet!

The caring doctors and staff at Aztec have been taking care of my dog and cat family for over 10 years now. I can't say enough about the fabulous care and great advice we receive. They give treats during the exam and keep it low stress for the animal, and genuinely care about them and us. The dogs think the vet is a happy place to go, and even the cat - who had previous unhappy vet experience - has learned to settle down and enjoy all the treats and attention during the annual exam. Aztec doctors and staff have also helped us through the loss of a pet, and really helped us make the right decision at the right time. The facility is bright and light and clean, and there's a separate cat area in the waiting room with pheromone blankets that slip over the cat carrier to settle cats, with dogs in another area to reduce stress on the cats. Dr. McGuire is our regular vet, but we have had great experiences with all of the doctors at Aztec.

I love Aztec. I adopted two cats a couple of years ago but didn't have a vet at the time after our previous vet retired and the clinic changed hands. I chose Aztec because they were close by and I'd heard good things about them, and I haven't regretted it. They have a cat-only section in their waiting area and provide pheromone-infused blankets to help calm their cat patients, and they have adjuvent-free rabies vaccines. The doctor we see is very kind and is always willing to answer my questions, and when I go in to buy the td I need for my ginger cat, it's quick and painless.

This clinic is great! I've previously tried another popular clinic in Albuquerque for my dogs and cat, which was good too, but since I switched here I've been so impressed by the difference. They have a separate sitting area for cats and dogs, as well as scented blankets for the pets to help keep them calm while you wait. The rooms are impeccably clean too. Most importantly, the staff is phenomenal. Everyone seems like they really care about their patients, and the vet I saw (Dr. Georges) was delightful and spent so much time discussing my cat's health in detail with me. She answered all of my questions thoroughly (even the silly paranoid ones) and typed out helpful vaccine schedules and other advice in an easy-to-read format. My cat is pretty nervous but she seemed quite calm here. I'd recommend you check it out if you also strive to stay on top of your pet's health and well being!

Vet visits are usually super stressful for my dog and I. They typically involve me pinning my (very large) dog to the floor, the vet not actually being able to examine her at all, and my poor pup feeling completely stressed out and scared. But we have broken this trend with Aztec! Dr. Georges was amazing...she got down on the floor with my dog and set about making friends before any examinations took place. She put both my dog and I at ease, answered all of my millions of questions, was really relaxed, didn't rush us at all, and was super affirming. She even held off on giving my pup a shot so she would have a positive first experience at Aztec. When we returned the following week for the shot, my pup was excited to be back and had no problems! Having a great vet who knows us and who we like is a huge relief!

Though it may be pricy, medicine for animals or humans are expensive and having a pet is an investment and an agreement to take care of that animal. I called around to many vets today, a Saturday, trying to get a last minute appointment for my sick cat. I was shunned away at many places for being a "new patient". From the moment, I called Aztec, they made me feel comfortable and important. They were able to squeeze me in the schedule today, and didn't make feel like I was an inconvenience!
When I arrived, the staff was extremely pleasant and so prompt. Dr. Darbie was so patient with my sick, nervous cat. She spent more time with us than any vet I've ever been to. She gave us a wide range of diagnostic/treatment options and was up front about all of the costs. (Which I appreciated more than I can say) I will definitely be bringing all of my animals here from now on. I will definitely refer Aztec to everyone!

I was very happy with Aztec, it is clean, spacious and friendly, love the separate area for cats to wait. Dr Georges was extremely good with my cat and very knowledgeable, as was the tech, Molly. Alice was so at home, she roamed the exam room, loved on the vet and tech. I do find it a bit pricey compared to others, which is a problem for a retired person on a fixed income, but other than that, I give it five stars. Everyone was super friendly and nice. We were just there for a checkup, but I am sure in an emergency they would be every bit as good.

Dr. Bouchet has been with our family, and our animals, for years and years. He has been with us for some of the best times and some of the hardest times. He is full of compassion, understanding, patience, and knowledge. I finally decided to switch Maximus from our previous vet to Aztec Animal Clinic because it is much closer to our home, and because of the amount of time and care Dr. Bouchet puts into his fuzzy patients. Maximus, my adorable olde english bulldog ,has had a series of unfortunate health issues stemming from a sensitive stomach. I am very cautious about what I feed him; I am usually a helicopter pet parent, because god knows if he eats something he shouldn't I pay for it the next morning. Needless to say, I want my vet to spend as much time as possible listening to me screech about Max and looking at my animals health. Dr. Bouchet gets down and dirty, sits on the floor with your pet, and goes over everything that is important. Seriously, plan to spend time during your appointment going over what's needed and what's not for your pet.If you are the kind of person who is incredibly invested in their pets happiness and wellness Aztec Animal Clinic is absolutely the place for you. Seriously, they take great care of you and your animals.

We love the welcoming attention we and our dog receive from Aztec's staff in the waiting area. Our veterinarian discovered our dog's autoimmune condition early, and although it was a difficult time, she was empathetic and helped us remain optimistic. Our dog is happily strong and healthy again. We appreciate the time given to answer our questions. They truly care about each animal they treat as though it were their own.

My experience at Aztec Animal Clinic was the WORST experience I've had at a vet's office. Dr. Retherford (or however it is spelled) was the most condescending woman I've ever encountered. She is an elitist and would rather put your dog through surgery than look at the possibility of the dog not making it through another surgery because of it's health and age. Also after I had informed her that I had already been giving my dog the medicine she prescribed at this visit and that it was not working, she refused to listen and prescribed the exact same thing (not cheap). It has also been brought to my attention that she is the reason our past vet (at Aztec), but a much nicer woman and more understanding vet, has now left. I will NEVER go back to Aztec because of Dr. Retherford. Everyone else there is very nice. But one person can ruin what is otherwise good.

Dr. Barbara McGuire is one of the most compassionate and warm human beings we have met. Aztec Animal Clinic was recommended to us by my parents, when we first moved to Albuquerque and we have had nothing but excellent care. My sister-in-law is a veterinarian in another state and we feel somewhat familiar with what ingredients make a good one. From the moment you walk in the door at Aztec, you will feel warmth and support - no matter the purpose of your visit. We always recommend them and will never go anywhere else. If you have a pet, definitely consider Aztec and Dr. McGuire. Thank you.
