Everyone here is awesome and Dr. Kennard is wonderful! My pooch has an irreversible blindness and Dr. Kennard was very honest upfront about the situation. He meets with my dog once a year to be sure he isn't developing glaucoma. Everytime we see him it's a complete pleasure. Took my cat to the Phoenix office when I noticed a black spot in his eye. They recommended laser surgery. It was expensive, but went smoothly. Unfortunately the spots recurred and they recommended that the eye be removed. This was a big decision, and another big expense, but they were all very supportive. Dr. Barrett took the time to explain everything to me. The vet techs and front office staff were all very nice and took the time to make follow up calls after the surgeries. As soon as the pathology report came back they called with the results: Melanoma. Stage 1, so we caught it early and my cat has a good prognosis. Please don't ignore any irregularities in your pets' eyes--bring them here for a check up. Read Less

Worst experience with a Vet in my dogs 13 years. Doctor proposed surgery but wouldn't tell me the cost. As soon as Vet left room the assistant said it would be $2,000; to late to ask Vet about plan B. I felt totally ripped off paying $160 for 3 minut exam by assistant. I have a big bug eye Boston terrier who is in here a lot! He is always poking and scratching his eye. The eye care you get here is far superior to what you would get from a general vet. I always call eye care first for all eye issues. I get into a room fast. My exams go fast. I get checked out fast. It's a great low stress environment for my dog. The staff is friendly and knows my dog well. I also feel the prices are reasonable for being a specialist! I never feel like I'm going in debt over my dogs special eye needs. Dr. Gavin Kennard is by far one of the most brilliant veterinarians I've ever come across (I've seen many general vets, ER vets, and other specialists). He doesn't bullshit you and I appreciate the honesty, especially since more often than not vets can be so damn moneyhungry!He treats his patients as if they were there his own and the level of care surpasses even what one would consider above and beyond. This goes for the technicians and receptionists as well. I never thought I could be so comfortable in a moment of time when I was quite distraught (my Fluffykins went blind).If I could, I would even choose them over my regular vet that I've known for 20 years now. I've never been treated so well and each person truly shows a level of concern and compassion. Don't waste time and money at a regular vet for an eye problem... it could be too late. A lot of eye problems are treatable if caught quickly. You wouldn't go to your gyno for mouth pain would you? You should go where the best is and Dr. Kennard is definitely where to go! Read Less

If your pet has an eye problem, this is the only place you want to go. The level of caring and their expertise surpasses all others. I've been to a number of veterinary ophthalmologists, and Dr Kennard is by far the best. My dog has a blast there too!!
