I've been bringing my fur babies here for over a decade. Even though my pup is a handful and HATES going to the vet, the staff is always so patient, gentle, and kind to her. They always answer my questions thoroughly and never make me feel like a failure if I can't afford pricier options. I am new to TLC and have been extremely pleased by the care my kitten has received. Dr Owen is knowledgeable, kind and very personable. She has been responsive and patient with my concerns. The techs have also been good. As a hospital librarian wearing many hats I also dealt with customer satisfaction thus I have a hyper-awareness where service is concerned. Kudos to your staff. TLC Pet and Uptown Cat Hospitals have been our veterinarian clinic of choice for more than 7 years; always offering consistent, professional, and compassionate care for our dog and cats! I have always felt such a personal level of commitment by every one of the staff and I especially appreciate the time and teaching efforts given to us whether during urgent circumstances, routine annual visit, or illness appointments.There have been many occasions I have been contacted by the staff and/or the veterinarians in follow up to update progress or discuss further instructions re: any of our animals. We are always given options or levels of treatment, usually starting with conservative choices with explanation of "next step" decisions depending on response. We are new to Albuquerque and were very sad that we had to give up our incredible Vet in Denver. We were not looking forward to the dreaded search for a new vet because most of us know how terrible it is to go to the offices who only care about money and really don't provide much consideration to detail, service, or even just basic kindness. Thankfully, we found TLC first and our experience with them has been great. Dr. Owen and everyone of the Vet Techs and other staff members (assistants, receptionist, all of them) have been informative and helpful. They have been nurturing with our 17 year old cat, who is not exactly thrilled about being there and can be a bit of a handful the minute we walk in the door. Their costs seem fair, and their caring and empathetic nature toward animals and their humans is much appreciated!! I can honestly say that I haven't had any problems with TLC. I have a very energetic, crazy one year old pup that I absolutely love to death. Everytime I bring him in, he just about goes crazy with excitement plus wanting to play/bark/cry with other dogs. When this happens the people at the front just smile and laugh because they know dogs especially puppys are full of energy. I almost always make an apppointment for which I end up having a time conflict with and all I have to do is call and they are more than happy to help me reschedule a time that is better for me. Now, I am a college student who could maybe appreciate lower prices a little more, however, I also want the best for my baby so I don't mind spending the couple extra dollars they charge more than other places. Our family adopted an eight year old Springer. He needed a lot of dental work. Dr. Owen did a great job. She explained everything to us (including the cost) before the procedure and kept us well informed afterwards. Our dog is a much happier dog now that he can chew without it hurting! Read Less

This place is the place to go!!! I went here to get a second opinion on what was going on with my dog and I'm so glad that I did!! I had originally been told my dog was basically dying and come to find out that was all wrong!! Go see Dr. Williams! She's in it for the animals and not your money!! Thank you so much Dr. Williams!!! You have a life long client! One last thing I should include all the staff was nice and pleasant to deal with everyone was smiling and polite. Everything was clean and organized. My dog doesn't get along with other animals and I was able to wait in the car with her and someone came out to let me know they were ready which really helps out!!! It is a small place so had the office been full of other Animas I'm not sure how we would have handled it but I guarantee they would have figured something out. All around 5 stars well earned!! They always treat Alice so well, giving her lots of love and attention. Going to the vet is not a difficult task because Alice loves it there. It's clear everyone who works there truly loves their job and that they all love animals. The pricing is fair and they are always upfront about costs so you aren't surprised by the bill. Everyone on staff was fantastic! I brought my dog here when my regular vet refused to see her without an appointment even though it was an urgent situation. Dr Owen discovered my dog had a blockage in her stomach and did surgery to remove it. They were wonderful and kept me updated throughout the day and let me go visit my dog after surgery even though she needed to stay the night. Also a plus they were much more affordable than VCA. We've had good experiences and bad with TLC. The most recent experience seemed great, but now that another vet has examined our dog, we've changed our opinion. A year ago our dog had an $800 dental done. The vet told us she removed many teeth, but our dog was fine at that point. We noticed that her breath still smelled bad and were told by the vet that some dogs just have bad breath. Well, she just had a visit with another vet who diagnosed her with SEVERE dental disease and bone loss that has been going on for much longer than a year. She's going to need to see a dental specialist. According to the new vet, she should have seen a specialist before--but TLC gladly took our $800 without telling us. We are very angry about this. $800 is a lot of money, and it would have been better spent on a specialist. We will certainly not be returning to TLC. Read Less

I had to put my cat Meow Monkey down this summer. It was really sad and hard, and I am very glad that Dr. Owen was our vet for that. She is very caring and professional towards both the cats and their owners. Later, we were even sent a condolence card in the mail. The tech's and receptionists were also very kind and sensitive and I'm glad that Meow Monkey got the care she did. A few weeks ago I had to take in my cat Schnitzel, this time we were seen by Dr. James. Dr. James is also an excellent vet! My cat was very comfortable with her, and you can tell how much she loves animals and how much she cares about them. I'm really glad she's our vet. My cat loves her! The place is always very clean, receptionists are super organized, and there usually isn't a waiting time. I really appreciate TLC, they are really the best place for animal care! Read Less
