The vets and staff her are good. I recently moved to Albuquerque and boarded my dog there. Today I took another dog to board there. She was just examined and vaccinated by my vet in Alamogordo. Today I was told my dog would need a $72 dollar exam and the influenza shot. I’ve boarded my dogs many times. If they need vaccines the vet gives them one without charging an exam. Took my dog in a few weeks back because he cut his foot pretty bad. Very professional and friendly staff. You really can tell they actually care for your pets unlike most vets in town. First consultation was free, treatment was affordable and I kept taking my dog in every few days for bandage replacements, the vet assistants took their time and helped my dog with love and care. They even drew a little ghost on his cast. (It was Halloween week) You guys are awesome. Staff would call me every once in a while to check up on him. Went there on Sunday because our dog had something wrong with her ear. The vet would not do the exam in the room with us because she said there wasn't enough light to see. They insisted on taking her to another room. I asked if I should come and they said no. Then the Vet comes in and says she saw a foxtail in her ear and the only way to take it out was to sedate her, she said it was very close to the eardrum and was afraid it would rupture. So we agreed to the sedation, we were afraid for our dog and wanted the best for her. After 15 minutes she came in and said she couldn't get it out and we would have to be referred to a specialist. We were disappointed but paid our bill and was told that the specialist would call us Monday. They gave us pain medication because they poked in our dog's ear. We felt like something wasn't right when our friends on Facebook were saying that it should have been simple and easy, they had dogs who had the same thing done. We called our regular vet Monday morning and they got our dog in right away. They looked and looked and looked... guess what there was no foxtail. Our vet only saw ear hair by her eardrum. The VCA vet was pulling on ear hair!!! She sedated her!! She said she needed surgery to get it out!! Our dog had a minor ear infection, our vet put in the first dose of medication and sent us home with the rest. Wished we would have just waited until Monday but were worried. Do not go here, the vets do not have enough experience. And guess what's even more suspicious the "Specialist" they supposedly sent a referral to NEVER called us. Thank God our dog didn't need surgery because no contacted us!! Read Less

I've been taking my cat there since December of 2016 since we found him in our hallway panting and gasping for air. We took him around 6:30pm that night and they close at 7. We were rushed out and sent to another hospital on the other side of town (our cat was still having trouble breathing and literally could've died). These last few follow up appointment they were less concerned about my cats health and more concerned about how much I was going to pay before they would give my cat any treatment. Long story short they give a lot of "I don't know's" until you are willing to pay. I just wanted to know what's wrong with my poor cat and then pay the difference, but they weren't compassionate at all. I will not be taking my animal here again. Read Less

Service was awful my grandma took my dog in the first time and when I got home I noticed something wrong with him that the doctor didn't catch. We payed 500 for the first visit I went back to see what was wrong with my dogs neck that he had missed and the vet just argued with me saying that he already explained this to my grandma (which he did not) and gave me 5 different explanations to what was wrong with his neck and they all contradicted each other. He wouldn't even let me talk and explain what was wrong with him, he continued to argue with me about my own dog being sick. We usually go there but after that visit they lost our service.
