So I had sent my boyfriend here to get a stray cat we found checked for a chip. It was one of the options that the city had recommended you go to if you find a lost cat to get it checked for a chip. You know, going through all the right steps to try and find this cat's owner. Imagine my surprise when he tells me he felt so uncomfortable there. He brings in the cat to get checked for a chip, explains the situation about how this cat literally waltzed herself into our apartment and we want to check for a chip. They are fine at this point, even joking around. The moment that they realize there isn't a chip, their attitude changes. Explaining to him that he needs to make sure that he exhaust all measures to try and find the owners and we have to wait 10 days for it to be official ours. We have done all of this and the idea of adopting the cat wasn't even on the table. There are flyers posted in my complex, we posted to the ABQ lost and found page and filled out an official claim as well as Facebook and here we go continuing to try and do the right thing by getting the cat checked for a chip and my boyfriend is made to feel like he is a cat thief. He wanted to get out of there as fast as possible, not like I blame him. Needlessly to say, I don't recommend this place not unless you want to be prejudiced against. How disappointing. Read Less

I have never had any issues taking my puppies here. We're always seen within a few minutes of our scheduled appointment time. My pups, Fred and George, absolutely adore Dr. Grainger. They have no fear of going to the vet as she and the other staff always take the time to greet them and give them all the ear scratches and belly rubs they desire. I appreciate that Dr. Grainger takes the time a few days after their visits to check in and make sure they're doing well. I also appreciate that she takes the time to answer any question I have during their appointments and shows absolutely no impatience when Fred is more interested in giving her kisses than he is with having his heart listened to. Horrible experience! My dog, who had been missing for a year, was taken to the all night emergency clinic after being found on the side of the road. She had a dislocated hip and fractured pelvis. Discharge, to take Roise to a lower cost single mom vet clinic, took THREE hours, because I could not pay $500 for the overnight stay, pain meds and X-rays at the time of my visit. They did not even pop her hip socket back in, which might have healed without surgery. An hour later we are STILL waiting for the X-rays at a wonderful clinic, Ponderosa Animal Care (the loveliest people are at Ponderosa!). VCA is a high-cost corporate clinic that made me feel as small as my small street dog. Read Less
