The ANIC offers magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); computed tomography (CT) scan; electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies; digital radiography; as well as advanced neurology procedures including spinal tap; neurosurgery for spinal cord compression and spinal fractures; biopsies and removal of spinal cord and brain tumors, etc.

Thanks to the ANIC, my Chihuahua Sid is back on his feet after surgery for a herniated disc in his neck. He was in tremendous pain & unable to walk. Two weeks later he's back to his old self. We were able to see Dr. Tensley as soon as my vet made the referral. She and Dr. Schatzberg performed surgery right away and kept me and my vet informed throughout. They're open 24/7 and encouraged me to call anytime to check on Sid. The staff is very kind and caring. They told Sid they loved him but they didn't want him to come back! Read Less

Upon referral from my Newfoundlands regular vet, I took Bella for a MRI of her neck. The doctors and techs were very good with her, and the front desk staff was super organized and helped me with the filing of the pet insurance claim, etc. Dr. Schatzberg went over the MRI with me in detail, educating me as well as clarifying Bella's cervical herniation, and patiently answered my many questions. I recommend this practice highly for diagnostic imaging and client education. Read Less

For me my dogs are my children. They are my life. When I was told my pup was being referred here I was anxious, concerned and scared. From the moment I walked into the clinic I felt safe and that my fur baby was in good care. The doctors calmly explained the diagnosis and when I forgot to breathe they reminded me and put my fears to ease. They don't jump right in surgery mode which to me is important. They answered all my questions and genuinely cared about my little guy. They have someone on call 24/7 in case of emergencies. They were able to do the MRI and give us the result the same day, no restless nights waiting... to me this was priceless. Thank you Dr. Armstrong and Dr. Schatzberg for taking such good care of my baby. Read Less

ANIC is the most amazing Godsent for all of the animal loving community!! On Thursday my dog was referred here for a ruptured disc. I was given perfect directions and was immediately met by Dr. Cellini. Upon his immediate Neuro exam, he told me his thoughts. After the MRI he was spot on with his initial diagnosis. He called me every step of the way, reassured me he had seen much worse and he expected a great outcome. Along with the requisite possible issues that go along with any surgery and especially spine surgery! I picked her up yesterday and after his patience with 200 questions, he continued to reassure me. ANIC thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there in my emergency! Your staff treated me like family and that is so important when you a facing a situation like this. Each staff member was kind and compassionate and very well versed in their field. Being able to get a status report at 2:00 am is extraordinary. Dr. Cellini, I thank you for your excellent t expertise and I wish you the best in Chicago! I will be happy to highly recommend this wonderful facility!!Read Less

I was referred here because my Puppy was not responding to treatment at another Vet. I called at 10pm Friday and was seen first thing Saturday am. I spoke with a real person who spoke clearly and offered to call a Dr in that night if I felt it necessary. The tech was very polite and sympathetic on the phone. I refused to believe the diagnosis I had received at my previous Vet and was determined to help my little girl get better. Sadly they were unable to correct the issue. They were incredibly patient as I had to make a crushing decision. If you want to take your pet kid to an incredible Dr this is the place to go. I can't give them a higher score. I could not have been more fortunate than to be referred to ANIC for the evaluation of my 8 year old mini schnauzer, Peanut. I am not sure how Mr. Peanut hurt himself, but he would hunch over in pain and could barely walk. It would clear up for a bit and then reoccur more intensely. I took him first to an emergency room and then to see my vet. Even with rest and medication, I saw no improvement. Initially I really didn't want Peanut to have surgery but after an MRI and consultation with Dr. Schatzberg and Dr. Tensley, it became clear to me that it was the only option to relieve the pain from a severely herniated disc in his neck. What was so impressive to me was how the entire process was handled. The doctors were clearly very competent and dedicated to helping me and my little guy get through this. Dr. Schatzberg explained the risks but also assured me that he felt this surgery could be a highly successful treatment. The care and treatment were exceptional, not just from the doctors but from the entire staff. After about four weeks, Peanut is now pain free and back to his daily walks with his brother. Our community is so fortunate to have such a competent and caring group of doctors to treat brain and spinal injuries and illnesses. I hope I won't need their services again but will forever sing their praises.Read Less

I was referred to this place by my vet... my dog got vestibular disease, but wanted to make sure it wasn't a brain tumor. My dog is 135 lbs. I was quoted $2000 for the visit. When I returned, they informed me that it was vestibular disease and the symptoms will go away. I went to pay the balance (I had to put $1000 on my credit card as pre-payment). When I got the balance, it was an additional $2100.... totaling $3100 !!! I asked them why the price changed drastically and they said because of his weight! I said... Well, you didn't see me walk in with a small poodle... you saw my dog, weighed him, etc. I paid the ridiculous amount. This place is a rip off and scams money from people that love their pets. My vet called several times to check on my dog throughout the following weeks... this place never called once to follow up with my dogs health. I DO NOT recommend this place AT ALL. I asked to see and speak to the vet, but they would not let me see or speak to him... he was busy getting ready to go to his kids game. They make the front desk girl do all the dirty work.
