This is a wonderful animal clinic! More intimate than other big business vets, and take a more one on one approach with their clients and animals! They have very good people skills, and light handed with our fury loved ones. Made our puppy feel very safe and at ease when doing a procedure for a broken hip. Dr. Gutierrez has been our vet for several yrs. I find him to be up front and honest on the care for our animals. We lost a dog to cancer last year and Dr. Gutierrez showed the utmost concern and compassion for our dog and us during the care and treatment of our dog. I have lived with animals of different varieties all of my life which means a lot of vet visits over 40+ years. I was spoiled with small town veterinarians which is something I hadn't realized until I moved to Alb. Expensive and your pet is just a number to many vets I have encountered. I found  Corrales Veterinary Clinic (via Yelp and Google reviews) due to an unexpected health issue with my cat. I needed to take her somewhere without an appt. Our regular clinic charges $75 for a walk-in plus the regular visit fee and whatever treatments or meds happen at the visit. (Yes, yikes!)The staff (all of the staff) were so welcoming and helpful. The vet was very thorough and explained things step by step. Even my cat who usually gets all stressed out and weird at the vets office, was chill and only hissed once (hey, I hiss when people grab my belly fat too!) There are 2 large corner windows in the exam room which helped relax and distract her from the fact that people were putting things up in places where stuff should only come out of. For 8 years Dr Marcos and staff cared for our lab mix.  Age and illness led to the decision last Monday to let her go. Everyone at the clinic was kind and compassionate,  making her passing painless and gentle. Today flowers were delivered with a note of sympathy from Dr Marcos and staff.  Best vet clinic ever! Corrales Veternary Clinic is more than just good or the best in this business, they give you and your pet their hearts when they treat your animal. My Silky Terrier died recently of the auto immune condition of hemolytic anemia. From diagnosis through treatment to his death my pup was received the definition of TLC, always. Dr. Schenberg made my dog's last minutes the most comfortable in many weeks and Marcos's honesty, care and gentleness, always, with my 3 dogs has been, well great. I currently have four dogs who are treated by Dr. Gutierrez. He has been our Vet for 18 years and the care and attention he gives to our animals is extraordinary. When one of our beloved dogs passed a few years ago, he was compassionate and sensitive to our experience in such a way that was above and beyond the call of duty. I am going to become a part-time resident of Albuquerque in the next 60 days and am looking for a veterinarian. I read the reviews on this site and laughed at the one that was written by Sausagedog. It sounds so mean as to be not actually credible - like it was from a jilted girlfriend or something. I decided to try Corrales Veterinary Clinic just because of that negative review because I thought that anybody that can inspire such emotion is probably a passionate practitioner and really does care. I'm willing to bet that this review will backfire on the writer because it sounds so unbelievable to regular people. I'm thinking that the name the person chose was pretty telling. He is probably short, fat, and yappy. Oh, and when I called the clinic the receptionist was very nice and helpful and I got an appointment right away. I can't wait to get started with them!!!!! I can say for a fact that the previous review is not true. Dr. Gutierrez runs a quaint, friendly little clinic, and provides a small-town ambiance to his very professional expertise. I have been bringing my dogs to him for over 15 years, and all have benefited from his knowledge and adeptness. Furthermore, I know many of his patrons, and all speak quite highly of him. I have been going to this Clinic since it opened. For 10 years there has been a friendly face at the reception desk. Marcos let go the only two capable and friendly people at the clinic. He let go of the only tech that know what she was doing ... followed by the nicest, friendliest receptionist. She was a staple in the Village and the reason I went to this Clinic. He is not the best doctor. His prices are not the best. I can say that he has not morals or ethics. Stay away. Read Less
