I was so impressed with my first visit. The staff is so kind and professional. They make you feel welcome as soon you call for the 1st appointment. My Loki saw Doctor Hunter. She is kind and knowledgeable, In addition, the vet tech was great and very personable. Vista Largo's fees are very reasonable and from my perspective, are not inclined to rack up unnecessary charges. My doggies have found a Doc! I will be returning. First, I need to mention that I have 3 dogs and I have been a frequent costumer for 3 years. I had an appointment and called in that I will be 10 minutes late (which I fully take responsibility for) to which I got a complete surprising and non-negotiable answer. I was told that there is no way to get in at all and that I should reschedule, after which I said that in the 3 years that I have been coming there I have never been late and asked if there is no way to get squeezed in. I was told that they are concerned that this would not happen but after I said that I will try to call another vet, they changed their story and said that I could come in and wait for an appointment. I then proceeded to say that I will not come in, to where the receptionist bluntly said: “So you want to cancel? Ok. Bye”. In the three years I have been there I have always been reasonable with them when I had to (occasionally) wait for 30-40 minutes in the waiting room, because I understand the way appointments work. Nevertheless, I was shocked to learn that they would not be willing to negotiate or give me a chance. After all, I have been a long-time costumer and it didn’t seem as if they cared for me to even remain a costumer. I know that I was running late and I didn’t expect them to take me in that moment, but I did expect them to try to help me in getting an appointment asap and maybe be more willing to talk about options, rather than just hanging up on me. If I cannot be certain, that my Vet will be reasonable when scheduling and rescheduling (or have a 10 minute buffer), I cannot be certain they take time for me or my pet. Highly disappointed ☹ . I've been to a couple other Vet clinics in the area. But our visits here have been amazing, you get first class service from the moment you call to the time you leave. During the checkup, Dr Kline was playful with my dog (she let my dog give her all the kisses), and her team provided Info without overwhelming us. I want to start out by saying that I'm not trying to be hateful in any way here but I am going to give my honest opinion. My dog is like a child to me so when I look for a vet I always read the reviews first. Seeing how this place has nothing but good reviews I was so happy and expecting the best. Unfortunately this place was a huge let down for me. When you go into a business like this and the receptionist is the first person you see and talk to they are the ones who make the first impression. I am new to town and have noticed that everyone is always so nice everywhere I go until I came here . I tried to ask for a little background about the place and about the vets and was basically brushed off and asked if I want the appointment or not.. Needless to say I obviously ended up going elsewhere . It's sad that the lack of customer service I was given by JUST the front desk staff immediately changed my mind about wanting to meet any of the vets to care for my dog.Read Less

We love Vista Larga... We drive from Albuquerque to Edgewood....Very much worth the drive... Excellent Doctors..Amazing vet techs...We have three dogs Lily, Diego,and Daisy.. Dr Coleman, with the help of 2 other Dr. Saved my dog Lilys eye when a fox tail got lodged in her eye.. Diego is with Vista Larga as we speak...my very sick boy is getting the best care...I'm nervous and scared to find out diagnosis, but my fiance reminds me over and over Diego is getting the best care and love... We are new to the area and just tried another vet to treat our cat, who had an emergency blocked bladder condition--big mistake! There was no problem with their treatment (except the price!) but I found out, too late, that they did not keep a critical animal overnight! As the issue continued the next day, their best advice was to go to an emergency vet! So, back to VIsta Larga and Dr. Averhoff. They took us right away, kept our kitty overnight, gave him a second day of treatment and monitoring, and he's home, all better. Excellent Doctor, great staff, you don't need to go anywhere else! This is a top-notch group of veterinarians and staff. They do a great job taking care of my 5-year-old standard goldendoodle. They don't make him get up on the table, they get down on the floor with him for exams or shots. The practice is very busy, make sure you have an appointment unless it's an emergency. Vista Larga's pricing is fair and reasonable. We used a vet before that overcharged us because many of his other clients couldn't pay. I have no reservations about recommending Vista Larga. I knew they were in good hands. I also knew all of the techs gave them some much needed love. First there sister died, then their dad, then mom got sick and went away. Not sure if I was coming back. We have been using Dr. Mike and the Zoo Animal Hospital for six years for our two dogs. They are extremely good with animals and always put our dogs at ease (even though going to the vet can be scary for them!). They are always willing to squeeze us in or stay late to see us when we have an emergency, and they take the time to explain to us what they are doing and thinking.
