This place has very friendly staff and extremely clean quarters. They also seem to have all of the latest equipment on premise, and can get you lab results while you are still in your appointment. However, I think there are a few things new customers should be aware of. First, they will give you a hard sell on everything: food, supplements, procedures, prescriptions, and tests. They charge top dollar for all of these things, and will tell you at your appointment that it is really the only right choice for your pets health. If you find yourself in this position, make sure you do your research before dropping $200 to $400 dollars an appointment. This won't be easy to do, since you will find yourself facing an argument if you want to get out of there without buying first. Watch out for the guilt trip - ""dont you love your pet?"" type arguments. They also do a lot of practices common in human medicine, such as always scheduling you for the most expensive appointment (45 min vet appt rather than a 10 min tech appt for shots). Unlike human medicine though, you will be paying for this out of pocket. Third, they will schedule you for unnecessary follow-up appointments to double and triple check your pets condition. On one hand this could be seen as a necessary precaution, on the other it seems like a great revenue builder for the clinic. After talking to my fellow dog lovers in the Albany community, I realized that there are a lot of vet's out there who will be far more straightforward about what the reasonable courses of treatment for your pet, and will keep your wallet in mind.
