In 2016 I moved back to Alden after not living there for over 10 years. Where before I simply went to my mom's because she did, this time I checked all of the vets around for prices for neutering & shots for a male kitten that I adopted literally off my doorstep. I checked in Alden, Corfu, Batavia, Bennington, Marilla, and Lancaster. Alden Animal Hospital came in with the best price. And the experience there was amazing, Dr Wilson is absolutely great. My family is big cat people, we have four now, Mom has seven, and my sister runs a cat shelter. We don't pick any old vet, we only go with the ones that are obviously skilled, good with animals, good with people, and yes have good prices. I will say with absolute certainty that we have definitely found the veterinary clinic that we are going to stay with for a long long time. Read Less

I took my dog there for Xrays and was told prior that the price would depend on the dogs size and weight because he would have to be sedated, but that it would be in the ballpark of $250/$300. Got the call to pick him up and the cost was no where near the price range... it was over $650 absolutely ridiculous! How can you tell someone a price then double it and then add tax?! AND then not to mention they couldn't even give me a resolution to my dogs issue and told me I would have to take him to a specialist. Very upset with the dishonesty of this company. Read Less

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Dr Zagst was by far the RUDEST Dr I have ever encountered. She talks over you, and doesn't even listen to a word you say. She talks down to you and literally has NO compassion at all. I will never step foot in this office again! Read Less

I've been bringing my dogs here for 17 years. Dr Wilson is absolutely wonderful and always aires on the side of caution rather than jumping in and doing things that would otherwise be extremely costly. He only takes the more invasive root when absolutely necessary. Dr Hitt has been a great addition to the practice. She too aires on the side of caution when treating my pets. The staff is fabulous! Dr. Wilson is the best vet we have ever taken our pets to. We have been taking our pets there for 10 years now and they have always given the best care for our cats and dogs. The whole staff is always wonderful and very caring of our pets. I highly recommend them. Read Less

I've been going there for years, as long as I can remember. They treat you like family. When you need help they are right there. I took my 16 year old cat to Alden Animal Hospital to be put to sleep, and the experience from start to finish - making the appointment, arrival, the procedure itself, and the follow up - was everything that veterinary medicine should be. Four days after we put her to sleep, we received a handwritten sympathy card in the mail, signed by the staff, referring to our cat by name.Read Less

If I could give zero stars I would. Brought my  4 year old cat in because he wasn't going to the bathroom. They kept him overnight and the next evening said I could bring him home and he would be absolutely fine. The next night I found him dead in the liter box in a pile of his own crap. Of course I was still stuck with a $1,000 bill they would only let me split into payments over ONE month. Seeing my first two payments were good I called to have my last payment moved to June 30th because I did not come up with the money yet. They charged my account anyway May 30th and over drew my account. The women I spoke with got snappy with me because I was frustrated. So weird that I was frustrated after they failed to help my cat, sent him home when he was clearly still sick, still expected me to pay the full bill and took money out of my account without permission. I will never, EVER trust these poor excuses for veterinarians with an animals life again. Read Less

I took my 2 rambunctious dogs in for a well visit and shots and the staff were professional, friendly, great with my pups. My dogs seemed to like them and after settleing down were very comfortable. We were in and out in an hour or so. I switched vets so I was nervous about bringing them here but I am definitely keeping them as our family vet. Read Less

Incredibly compassionate Doctor offering a very frank and honest service to his clients. Much more reasonably priced than MANY vets in surrounding areas. He's not difficult to get a hold of, and always makes time to answer questions. Worth even the LONGEST drive! Read Less
