Buffalo Feline Hospital

Amherst, New York
General Info
Buffalo Feline Hospital in Amherst provides compassionate and knowledgeable care to pets in the surrounding areas. The practice’s team deeply understands the bond between pets and their families. Their focus lies on wellness, chronic, and urgent healthcare. Buffalo Feline Hospital in Amherst supports pet owners through care systems that emphasize attentive listening and continuous health monitoring throughout their pets’ lives. The initial part of the session focuses on the patient’s behavior in the home setting and any issues arising since her last appointment. Veterinarians determine the animals’ physical status as well as weight stability during routine checks, which target dental health and mobility aspects together with skin responsiveness and joint flexibility. These check-ins help identify minor problems and fine-tune healthcare according to a pet’s age, breed, and living conditions. The range of services offered at this establishment includes laboratory diagnostics, parasite prevention, nutritional counseling, senior pet care, and pain management. The onset of medical conditions such as arthritis, gastrointestinal issues, and chronic allergies triggers the need to develop a detailed step-by-step treatment program. Before proceeding, owners are educated on the care timelines, expected outcomes, and associated costs. Buffalo Feline Hospital assists families with multiple post-operative care needs, long-term medication routines, and multi-pet households. Data is centralized on the server, and updates take place during every medical visit. Written care summaries, home instructions, and reminders (ensure consistent), empower clients. The team members are available to answer any questions you may have in between patients. Families in Amherst understand that veterinary care evolves to help senior pets who need assistance with mobility and puppies who start their wellness exams while staying true to its roots. This blend ensures that New York pets thrive at every stage of their lives. They are committed to preventive care, early disease detection, and timely treatment. Clients value the company’s transparency, educational support, and tailored advice. The team at Town & Country Veterinary Clinic is dedicated to supporting the clientele in every case, from complex chronic diseases to end of life care for senior pets. The company’s reputation is constantly growing as more people become aware of its unique approach to pet health.

The only reason I gave a star is for the secretary and other girl working there. Otherwise the Vet is very unprofessional and doesnt listen when someone says No. My dog had her third visit for the exact same problem which never resolved. My dog had a scrapping the first visit and said he saw no mites but maybe tunneling so he said we will give her a shot because he suspected it. Said it would kill them and gave another shot with some pills. The issue got somewhat better but never totally resolved. So now my third visit I did not want my dog go thru another scrapping ,also $70, . He said he would give another shot to kill mites seeing after his examination he suspected it. But more than 4 times going back and forth him ignoring my request not to scrap. He suspected mites and also said if she doesnt have it the shot would not hurt her. So i said why do i have to put my dog to get scrapped. Than his tone changed after i said no when he was ready to give my dog a pain shot to scrap. So than he said well than i cant give your dog anything but it was fine the first time when he scrapped and never saw a mite. I said i will have to go elsewhere and than he put my dog down and walked us out. He totally ignores what you have to say and keeps tallying on his paper. I wanted my issue resolved and 3 visits and months later my dog still has her problem . I will find another Vet to care for my dog. The blvd office is Gross. It has random furniture from the 70s. It didnt look or smell clean. Please do not waste your time. Read Less

I wish I didn't have to give a star. Dr. Lewis completely misdiagnosed my cat and is very superfluous in anything that comes out of his mouth. A visual check was good enough for him to diagnose my cat with a dislocated leg. A simple xray at Pinewoods revealed that it was not what he said. An xray was not offered at his practice. If you love your pet, DO NOT go to this vet. Read Less

While I did not go to this location specifically, I went to another that is serviced by the same vet. Therefore I feel it only fair to give it the same review, especially when others have had numerous problems as well. Went, waited an hour and a half after my schedule time to even be seen, was there about another hour after that for them to go through everything. Got shots, de-worming, and de-mited his ears. After atrocious service from the vet himself, I opted to not go back and took my business elsewhere. Turns out the mite infection is not only there still, but worse; AND he has intestinal worms. STILL. Roughly 90$ of a 215$ visit was completely wasted on this. Read Less

Dr. Lewis is the best vet ever.  He is the most caring and compassionate person that has ever treated my large varieties of fur babies. I had an emergency with my tiny Chihuahua and called the after hours emergency number. I received a return call back within mere minutes of leaving a message by Dr. Lewis himself. His answering service and entire staff are fantastic as well. I will never trust another animal clinic, as long as Dr. Lewis, Kelly, Jenna and Marsha are open for business. In non emergencies you can always get an appointment to asap. I can never say enough wonderful things about Dr. Lewis and staff. Thank you Dr. Lewis for my veternarian and saving my best friend.
