I moved to the area from New Jersey two years ago. We had a wonderful vet for my two dogs when we lived there, so I was very worried about finding a new vet in a new place. Dr. Salamun and Dr. Anderson were recommended by a good friend who lives here. I am so happy to have such wonderful caring people taking care of my two precious babies. Excellent care, great communication, wonderful, friendly and caring staff. They treat us like members of their family. I never have a problem getting an appointment, even in an emergency, seven days a week. They are very upfront about pricing, there are no surprises. Most recently, I found out that they care about more than your pets. My father had just passed away and I had to take one of my dogs for a checkup. Dr. Anderson came in. He always asks how I am, and when I told him, he spent extra time to talk to me despite how busy he was. I really appreciated that and I am very grateful. It says a lot, and I would trust no one more to care for my girls. One of my dogs needed surgery for a torn ACL. Dr. Anderson did a wonderful job and she is back to her old self. The staff is always friendly here and treats my animals well. What I love most about this place is that if it's your pets first time going, and they need to do the mandatory "vet meets your pet" checkup, they do it for free. It works perfect because I move around a lot and whenever I need to get my pets a shot at the new place, usually I have to pay an extra 40 or so dollars along with the shot price because the vet needs to do their yearly "meeting and checking my animal," which I understand, but it's frustrating when you move a lot. So this place gives those meetups for free the first time they're meeting a pet which is very thoughtful on their part. They also don't just give you the pricing at the register where you're surprised with whatever it is, they sit you down before doing anything with your pet and discuss how much everything broken down is going to be. That's helpful to someone who can't afford something so they can look for alternatives. I'm just happy to know the price before I go to the register. They also give a 5% military discount to the overall price which is awesome. Honestly, I've been to a lot of vets and this one is by far the best. The wait time isn't bad, the staff greets you right away, and pricing is discussed and fair. The employees seem like they love and understand animals. Dr Anderson and all the staff are wonderful. Our dog, Bobon loves going here and is never hesitant when he gets to the door. He recently (8 weeks ago) had to have TPLO surgery. We could not have asked for a better surgeon. Dr. Anderson explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. The care and compassion they showed our dog each and every time we went for our follow up appointments made the recovery period a pleasant experience....today Bobo had his last post op appt with Dr Anderson and he is all healed and back to being a happy dog again. Neat building and clean with nice people working there. All are loooking out for best interest of pet and not pushy on services that cost more, just informed of options and go from there. Very impressed with the facility. We had a consult with Dr. Anderson regarding our dog who has a torn ACL. I was very nervous with having the surgery for him until we met with Dr. Anderson. He made us feel very at ease with the surgery and explained everything in detail. Dr. Anderson is very down to earth and professional and took his time with us and answered all of our questions. Incredible service, knowledgeable staff and super friendly people.  I'm new in town and my dog was having significant enough issues that I needed to get her in quickly tonight.  I called at 7pm after reading their Yelp reviews and saw they were open until 8pm.  When I called and explained my situation they were booked tonight but the front desk talked to the Dr to see if they could squeeze me in.  Thankfully they did!  I was there past closing time as they got me in and did a thorough exam, took a proactive but not excessive approach and never made me feel like it was an inconvenience that I was keeping them late.  I'm grateful for their knowledge, their service level and overall my experience.  They also give first time guests a free exam - I've never heard of this and it was really a generous surprise.  I highly recommend this Veterinarian team...Dr. Smith treated my dog and she was wonderful! The staff are fantastic. They have nice little areas for cat and dog patients, delicious coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Very clean and tidy. They also offer a financial hardship discount but before you ask you need to apply to "Care Credit" a credit card that you can use there. If you don't qualify they will take money off at the discretion of the doctor. I'm telling you this because it's not on their brochure. ...yet. (I'm sure they will update it).Very good experience. I can't say enough good things about everyone at Ballston Spa Veterinary Clinic! Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Our dog, Shelby, is currently recovering from her second TPLO surgery. Dr. Anderson has been nothing short of spectacular with her and has saved her from a life of discomfort and pain. He is more than happy to answer all of my questions, even if it means calling me back during the day when he has a break from appointments. Tina, the physical therapist, has also been wonderful and I would highly recommend her for any PT needs your pets might have. The girls up front are great and very helpful too, especially Maegan. We are practically on a first name basis because I call so often with various issues with my 3 dogs and 2 cats. I have been taking my dogs there for a little over 7 years. The vets are wonderful and caring and the vet techs are the best. I had to take my dog in on Christmas Eve this year and was glad they were open. She is diabetic and her blood sugar dropped too low and she also had severe pain in her hips and spine. I am so happy to have switched my pets to this practice. So far, Annie, Buster, and Edie have each had at least one visit and impressed doesn't begin to describe how I felt about these vets and their staff. I got an enthusiastic greeting upon walking in followed by great care for my pets at each appointment. I don't think every practice really understands how important seeing the staff interact with your pet is but this one is packed with people who love animals! So far, I've met three of the vets and they are so great. In short, I'm a total fan and highly recommend them. It seems every aspect of pet care has been considered. I have had an excellent experience each time I've taken my two cats here. The vets are knowledgeable, thorough, and take the time to explain everything. The rest of the staff is friendly and helpful as well. They keep great track of my pets' health and have an app that lets me easily see when the kitties are due for any vaccines or routine exams. It has been 4 months since my family has lost our beloved dog, Rebel, but not a day goes by that we haven't been thankful for the care he received before he left us. We had never taken Rebel here before but another vet told us he was bleeding internally and needed an ultrasound, something they couldn't do. Thankfully the Ballston Spa Vet Clinic had the equipment he needed. We saw Dr. Smith who administered the ultrasound and told us that Rebel had a bleeding tumor on his spleen. She carefully and thoroughly explained our options and we decided to try surgery to remove his spleen. Dr. Andersen agreed to come in and perform the surgery even though it was late in the day and it was also his day off. Dr. Smith and an assistant even stayed late in the night with Rebel until we could safely transport him to an overnight clinic for observation. Unfortunately, Rebel passed the next morning. Dr. Smith called us personally to send her condolences. Though we had only been to this vet clinic once, the attention, care and professionalism we received were something that exceeded all of our expectations. We can not thank Dr. Smith, Dr. Andersen, Ellie, Michelle, Michah and the rest of the staff for everything they did for us and we wholeheartedly appreciate all they did to help Rebel. It was an incredibly difficult time for us and though we were relative strangers to them, they gave us everything we needed and more than we could have asked for.Read Less

Newly relocated to Ballston Spa from New Jersey, and just adopting a rescue from North Carolina, I relied on my new neighbor's referral to BSVC, and I am so pleased that I did. Max received a complete head to tail examination with Dr. Smith, who was extremely patient and kind with both Max and I. She spent an overwhelming amount of time with us, and reviewed all aspects of his current state, and ongoing care. Appropriate preventive treatments were prescribed, and Max was given a clean bill of health. A positive experience for both of us. And, surprisingly, as a new client, there was no charge for the exam! Ongoing followup has been more than I could ever expect, and I am happy that Max will be in the best hands at BSVC. We just want to thank Dr. Eric Andersen and his wonderful staff for taking such excellent care of our chihuahua Mr. Moose. From the 1st time I called to set an apt.,to the evaluation,surgery,recovery, and soon rehabilitation, we could not be happier. Everyone was compassionate and caring, they took time to answer all of our questions (rather in person or by phone) and they took time to review every step of the extensive patella repair and cruciate ligament repair our fur baby needed. Upon pick up Dr. Andersen and his staff gave us detailed information on what was done during the surgery, how Mr. Moose did over night, and what we would need to do for at home care, and rehab at the office. All in all they made the whole "scary" process much easier on us and Mr. Moose. To say that we are thankful is an under statement. We would highly recommend the Ballston Spa Vet Clinic to anyone in need of general vet care or specialty care (especially orthopedics).
