I really like the doctors very knowledgeable. Only wish staff could be as well. Its February and cold. It may have been a bad idea on my part to bring my hedgehog and one of my guiena pigs in for nail trimming. It looked like atleast 4 of my piggies nails were not cut, but atleast her nails were still intact and not bleeding, as I will explain further in this review. I was advised of the experience this veterinary had with hedgehog's. My hedgehog is extremely shy with strangers, but I thought they have experience with this type of exotic. There are many different ways to trim hedgehogs nails, shy hedgehogs are difficult I do agree. I am very knowledgeable about hedgehogs, the reason I brought her in for her nails is because my vision isnt what it used to be. A staff member used the water in a sink technique, which is fine, but not in February. The staff member was able to trim her front paws, but not the rear. I was charged full price because of the length of time this took, maybe 15 minutes. I didnt open my hedgehogs travel bag until I got home. She was coughing, she never coughs. I picked her up and she was soaked and covered with tea leaves from a tea bag the staff put in her bedding. The staff had told me she did this, without asking my permission. I was upset at this before I left, but I didnt make a big deal about it. The staff member said hedgehog's like mint tea, not mine. In fact, my hedgehog is extremely fussy. I had to throw out her bedding and clean off the tea and wrapped her in a towel to dry. Im very upset with Harmony because they gave me the impression they have experience with hedgehog's and for charging full price on a service they did not provide and for returning my hedgehog wet,coughing and covered with tea bag leaves. Then the staff member directed a conversation with my step mother and not to me, the owner. She began to school me actually, my step mother, on proper hedgehog care,really I thought? Harmony should be schooled on having staff members with qualifications on animal care. Prior to my visit, my spouse reminded me of an experience we had with one of our guiena pigs that we brought in for a nail trim. The staff member thought it was funny to hold my pet under his front arms and dance him. I didnt find that amusing, he is our pet and not a toy. During my guiena pigs nail trimming, we were not in the room for, a staff member pulled one of his nails out and he screamed, we brought him home and his nail was gone and it was swelled and bloody. They did apologise and we scheduled an appointment with one of the doctors to check his paw. After remembering this experience, I became sick to my stomach and second thought my appointment. But needless to say, I went ahead and brought my hedgehog anyway. Lesson learned, make sure staff member is qualified to trim pets nails, and also ask to be present during nail trimming. Although I only brought my cat there for the last few months of his life the staff there was wonderful and pleasure to work with. I moved to the area with my 14 year old cat who with a slew of GI issues can be intimidating. They listen to his medical history, my concerns and did not make me feel as though I was overreacting to changes in his health. Their kindness and heart when I had to put him to sleep was what every pet owner would want and what they deserve. They go above and beyond with their care. I wouldn't send people anyplace else. We originally sought out their services as reproductive vets for our show dogs. The care and technical expertise they provided went above and beyond expectations. We recently had Harmony inseminate and follow thru to whelping on one of our top show bitches first littler. As the time got close we would get daily calls from a staff member, Sandy checking on progress and calls from Drs Todd and Kholer. After a successful whelp over a holiday weekend they checked mom and docked and dew clawed the pups. We happily will move all our dogs to their practice. Read Less

Dr Peyton and the staff are awesome! They are very caring, thorough and it's apparent how much they enjoy what they do. Following my senior Goldens surgery they called the next day to check on her and have been thorough in following up with her progress. I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else. I use this clinic for regular shots, etc but also as reproductive specialists for my kennel. Yesterday, 10/31, my prized dog was in distress after delivering 3 pups. She had an immediate c section, they saved her life and her pups. I cannot begin to tell you how fortunate I feel in finding this practice. No question is too small, no request is turned away. My husband and I drove up from the eastern most tip of long island on Sunday with our male labrador retriever to do a side by side AI.. they are normally closed on sunday. Not only did they perform the "duty", they made special accommodations and opened at 1:30 pm to meet us!!! I have been bringing my fur family here since Dr. Wand opened. The staff has always been friendly, helpful and very professional, giving my guys the attention I feel they deserve. I seen doc Janis Kohler today. They got me right in. She was kind smart and caring! The staff was kind and caring too. I volunteer for a local humane society and will highly recommend them to all my adoptees. My lil hamster didn't make it but I knew he was in the right hands. Dr. Peyton and the wonderful Harmony staff saved our dog, Cosmo's, life. Cosmo is a largeey a dog almost 13 years old. Dr. Peyton noticed something wrong with Cosmo's abdomen and suggested an x-ray, which found a large mass. He performed surgery and removed the tumor, which turned out to show no sign of cancer. Cosmo is acting better than he has in months now and seems to be getting better day by day. Without the surgery, he probably would be dead in a month from internal bleeding. Excellent and friendly staff. Dr Kohler was great! I have two male cats with history of urinary problems. Dr Kohler gave me some feeding tips and recommended a supplement to help.
