Horrible place! My vet retired a few months prior to my love (dog) being sick. So I took my sick dog (my love) on Dec31st at 8:15 am to fine animal hospital. Some hospital...they turned me away Bc they were closing early. Wouldn't even give me the time of day. They should take hospital out of their name. Unprofessional and unfriendly front desk. Had to go to another vet. Then decided to give them a second chance for a second opinion. Saw Dr Fox. First words out of his mouth was "want to put your dog to sleep now?"  No compassion. No bedside manner. My dog had kidney failure and infection. So Dr Fox set us up with treatments of IV fluids twice per day and pre filled antibiotic injections once per day for 10 days. I administered all instructions in which I was told to do. His levels came down a miraculous amount to almost normal. Dr Fox even canceled one of my dogs every other day blood work up Bc of the levels were doing well. My dog was almost back to normal. Playing. Happy jumping etc. When We went to our 2 week follow up visit Dr Fox checked my dog and lowered his IV fluid intake to once per day and tried to blame me for him not giving us a beta blocker. Like I'm the Dr. Then he asked if I wanted him to give my dog the last antibiotic injection I agreed. I saw his tech walk away with  the pre filled syringe and then she came back into the exam room. My dog was fine til the Dr injected him and 15 mins later my dog went lethargic. I was in his waiting room and asked him what happened to my dog. My dog was full of life walking in and now at vegetation state leaving. He had no answer. I  still wonder what exactly happen??  Worst place ever. I would never recommend anyone to ever to step foot into this facility. Read Less

They are amazing, they do not take advantage of pet owners. They are honest fair and thorough. The staff is incredibly kind and Dr Dan is great. You can tell that they do this because they love animals. This place is about 50 minutes from me but well worth the drive. My Dog is an old guy and they treated him kindly. He required surgery and they explained everything in detail both before and after. It also helps that Dr Dan is responsive over email! We worry so much about the 4 legged members of our families it's nice to be able to email and receive a response. Read Less

Dr Dan really has gone above and beyond to care for our very anxious Pitty. He really takes his time to socialize with the dog and family. Every office visit takes as long as the family and pet needs. Questions answered, recommendations made and the end result is great. We sent to see Dr. Fox for a second opinion on our dog's ACL surgery.  He was highly recommended by two colleagues.  We understand why he and the practice gets such glowing remarks.  Dr. Fox thoroughly explained the differences in the types of surgery available, pros/cons, expected recovery and long term expectations, medications and supplements.  We choose Dr. Fox and were very happy!  Our dog did very well.  Out post op appointments were with Dr. Hanovich and we were further impressed.  Approximately six weeks after the first ACL surgery, our dog tore her other ACL.  She is a Pitt mix and the second most common dog to have the problem.  We were previously educated on this by Dr. Fox.  If this should happen to your dog, there is a 50% chance of this occurring to the other leg. We had such a great experience with the practice and Dr. Hanovich that we choose him to do the next surgery.  The practice is friendly, spends a lot of time with the pet and parents.  If there was any questions, I always called and had my answers given.  If need be the Doctor called back.    Very pleased with the office staff, assistants, techs and the Doctors. Dr Fox is wonderful. I've been going to Fine Animal Hospital for years. They are very caring and thorough and don't pressure you for unnecessary tests etc., just what is necessary to keep your pet healthy.Dr Fox is very kind and gentle with my pets and spends time explaining everything to you. The techs are really sweet too, and it's very clean. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and I always leave knowing I've done my best bringing them here and getting them the best care. Romeo (my 10 year old maltese) and I are sad to leave Fine Animal Hospital after 10 years of exceptional vet care.  Over these 10 years Dr. Fox and his staff have been extremely helpful and honest with each and every advise they gave me on Romeo's health. Romeo suffers from seasonal allergies and occasional seizures, both conditions were always monitored by Dr. Fox and Romeo was never just medicated. This is something that I loved about the care that was provided for my dog. Dr. Fox is extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy. Dr. Hanovich and Cara treat my dog with as much concern as I imagine they treat their own pets.  Dr. Hanovich and before him Dr. Neumann have kept Coco healthy for almost all of his life.  Coco loves and trusts them both and I am willing to make the 60 miles round trip for preventive care and for care when Coco has a problem.  However, my one wish is that they would open a Western Connecticut branch so that everyone I know would use them for their pets. My old dog saw a vet who no longer works at Fine Animal Hospital. Although I liked that vet, Dr. Honovich  is a great addition to the staff. He spends the entire visit on the floor with my dog, petting, rubbing and gaining his trust while giving him a check-up without the dog even realizing it. I appreciate his advice and the fact that they follow-up on all concerns. Thank you for saving Godot! Dr. Fox made it a personal mission to save my cat after a horrible fall, and my cat lived for an additional 4 years. Dr. Fox is extremely knowledgeable and right on top of the latest studies and treatments and we always feel his advice is based on solid experience and knowledge. When our dog has needed a specialist or something beyond he recommends us to someone else that he trusts and we've solved several difficult health issues this way -- as a team. Excellent care and a warm and caring staff! Dr. Fox arranged for me and my children to come in and spend time each day with our cat who was in critical condition. We weren't sure if he would make it, but with the great care he received he made a miraculous recovery! It has been a scary process learning all about giving our cat insulin twice a day and monitoring his sugar levels. Dr. Fox has been extremely patient in explaining how to take care of a diabetic cat. I don't have any pets but I work for someone with many and I also know family members that use Fine Animal Hospital. I am there every week to bring dogs for treatment and they have consistently provided wonderful service to the animals. It is evident that the staff genuinely care about the animals as well as their health. The hours are great and the accessibility when needing an answer is also great. My dog Mutly was a patient of Dr. Fox, and he saved her life at least once. He also educated me for puting her on a proper diet, no more Alpo for older dogs! Mutly lived to be three months short of nineteen years! Dr. Fox is the Mt. Sini of Veterinarians, and worth going out of your way for to get the very best of health care for your dog.
