This review has been revised to be more helpful as the first review was fueled by grief and guilt. Back then I was still in shock, as I had never experienced such cruelty and lack of empathy towards a cat in pain and you would never expect such a horror story at a vet clinic. My cat, Poky, was seen by Dr. Kendra Daniels who diagnosed him with rotting teeth and scheduled him for a dental procedure. When I told Dr. Daniels that another vet had already seen him and had said there was nothing wrong with his teeth, in a rude and abrupt tone she insisted that it WAS rotting teeth. I insisted on both blood and urine tests to make sure he wouldn't be misdiagnosed. In a few days the doctor called me and told me they were both normal and Poky was a good candidate for a dental. Long story short, she performed the dental procedure, cleaned and pulled a couple of teeth and with them, she also pulled his jaw (literally ripped it from the flesh up to the front tooth). She told me when I picked him up that the procedure was successful, she pulled teeth and then she discovered that he had a severe jaw infection. No mention of the ripped jaw. When I called her a few days later asking why he was bleeding so much, she said it was because of the extraction. When I took Poky there a week later, I told her about the lump under his jaw and she said that that's where the teeth were. That's when she also told me that when she pulled one of the teeth, the jaw wanted to come with it. When her assistant opened Poky's mouth I was able to see that his jaw was all bloodied and bruised. That very night Poky's jaw was twisted. I called the office and asked for Poky to see another doctor and he was seen by Dr. Booker who said that if the jaw is infected, you don't touch. You drain the infection first. Dr. Daniels kept insisting that she didn't know, even though common sense would tell one that severe infection is not hard to spot with a naked eye. She had lied about the lab results also. His white blood cells were high and other indicators in both blood and urine tests showed that he was not healthy and she kept calling them "completely normal." Then, while in Dr. Booker's care, my cat ended up with a broken jaw. Accident, using him as a guinea pig? I will never know what happened there. All I could see from their notes was that Dr. Daniels, Dr. Booker and Dr. Burchman (the owner) had a tete-a-tete and God knows what was discussed and resolved in that meeting. All I know is that they broke Poky's jaw and didn't even tell me. They kept denying it. He was the sweetest cat ever and, in her defense, Dr. Daniels kept saying how she's scared to look into pet's mouths because they might bite her!!! Poky was put to sleep a week later. Unfortunately, the word of an incompetent doctor is valued more in a court of law. After confronting her in court, I decided to out her, because I believe she is a danger to pets. She doesn't know what she doesn't know and that's the worst kind of not knowing. She kept insisting that the lab results were normal (in her universe of course) and what's worse is that she lied under oath. At first, she said she didn't pull teeth and later on admitted that she did pull a tooth. When confronted with an affidavit from a real doctor who stated that she should have stopped when she noticed the jaw infection, she kept insisting that she did stop. I paid for the whole procedure upfront and no money was refunded to me when I picked Poky up. She also verbally communicated to me that the dental procedure was successful. Well, she changed her story in court and it's hard to prove when it's your word against the doctor's word. In these cases you rely on personal values and ethics. You draw your own conclusions.Don't let her do to your pet what I let her do to Poky. RIP Poky. And, yes, both Dr. Daniels and Dr. Booker were rude. Think twice before you trust them with your pet. Dr. Burchman seemed like he cared, but, unfortunately, Poky got to him after Dr. Daniels had already doomed him. Read Less
