Took my two small doggies here for annual check up and annual shots for the first time last month - will not be returning ever.First the male tech just weighed our dogs and then the female vet just gave our two dogs their shots - with their winter jackets still on.  She didn't even check our dogs their teeth and gums or check their legs or ears or do any actual check up as a vet should do for two small dogs.If we wanted the annual shots for our dogs only, we can just go to Petco for much cheaper price why bother asked for annual check up for our two adults dogs.  The vet didn't ask us about our dogs medical history and she didn't seem to care for them.  In and out the office less than 15 minutes including the time filling out the paperwork and waiting for the receipt.Not a professional place for dogs - will not recommend for anyone to go here. Minus one star because my pup had her dew claws removed here, but when she was released to me after surgery, she had dried diarrhea all over her bandages. I didn't notice until we got home, but I was disappointed that no one noticed when returning her to me. When I called to question if it was alright to change her bandages, they were very helpful in aftercare instruction. I changed the bandages at home and she healed up just fine, so no harm was done. The staff here is friendly to both the pup and I, and the prices are affordable compared to other vet clinics in the area. Read Less

I've been taking my dogs there for over twenty years. All the Doctors and Technicians are great. I use Doc A he is one of the oldest there. He's honest,respectful,and caring. Does not make you do unnecessary test like some vets do. Your pet is treated like a person and not like a piece of meat. The Girls at the front desk are very accommodating and sweet. I love this place! They are true animal lovers & not just in it for the $. Took my dog here after a negative experience at One Love Vet, when they wanted to charge me $250 for a visit or "emergency visit" as they called it.  I had spent a fortune there on s regular basis, but when it came to my dog bleeding due to a horrible UTI they would not even entertain seeing her unless I paid this fee. I have been going Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge for over 20 years for my dogs and now for my cats.One thing I always felt about this place is,they seem to really care about the animals.I did move and I tried a place by my house for a while.I felt there was no real care for my pets.It was just a business.Ok,I do understand we all need to make money,but try to show you like your job or the animals you are treating.I did read all the negative reviews and I am sorry for what happened but I just don't see how they can be true.I rescued 2 kittens and I brought them there to make sure they were healthy.The guy who holds the pets for the doctor actually kissed the kittens on the top of their heads and was petting them and talking to them.I guess its to keep them calm.Dr. Ibrahim examined them and they were healthy.Just the way Dr. Ibrahim looked at the cats,you can tell this is someone who loves animals.This is someone who doesn't only think about her job as just a business.I also seen Dr.Alexandru several times and you can tell he really cares about animals as well.My daughter found an abandoned kitten that was a few days old and we brought it there.We seen Dr.Ibrahim.She took one look at him and said he doesn't look good.She gave him an exam and told us he was dying.You can tell she was just as upset as we were.My kids were there and they were crying.Dr.Ibrahim was really comforting us.She explained to us it was too young and we did all we could do.The way I feel with some Vets is they know you love your pets and some I feel kind of play with your hearts and make you do unnecessary things to make more money.That doesn't happen here.Even Kim,the receptionist is always polite,very nice and knows a lot about animals.So I will come here as long as I have pets. I found a kitten and took it right over to the animal clinic. Dr. Masterangelo met him and took great care of him. She was patient and explained to us exactly how to care for the baby correctly. The price here is really cheap compared to other animal clinics, the only really I gave it 3 stars is because their sanitary condition. The assistant didn't wipe and disinfectant the table before we came in, so I still can see there was lots of fur and skin flakes from last patient, we didn't know what last patient's condition is, so that makes me feels a little bit worried and kind of uncomfortable. I have been going to the animal clinic for 14 years. I have trusted the doctors and staff with all of my pets and have never been disappointed. The veterinarians are amazing and the staff are loving and caring. I recently lost 2 of my 3 cats over the holidays, and Dr. Ibrahim was not only exceptional with her work, but gentle and truly compassionate towards my self and my cats in their time of passing. I also brought my 14 year old cat lola to Dr. Ibrahim recently. She could barley walk let alone eat and I believe that because of her care, my cat is healing and thriving again today. Kim who helps manage the office is a wonderful, compassionate and loving human being who would do anything for these animals and Julio the veterinarian technician who has been working with them for many years, is professional, compassionate and excellent in his work. I can honestly say there is no other place I would bring my pets. I had a bizarre experience at this vet.  I found a stray kitten who had fleas and an eye infection.  I brought it here because they have a "free exam for new kitten/puppy" which is really nice and hard to find anywhere else... I wanted to save a little money.  The night before bringing the kitten to the vet I had applied Frontline, the one for kittens 8 weeks and up, in order to get a jump start on getting rid of the fleas.  I saw Dr. Alexandru and told him that I had already applied frontline... I made it clear that it was the version for kittens 8 weeks and up.  He told me that I shouldn't have applied the whole vial and that you're only supposed to put a little bit of it because it's a small kitten.  (by the way the kitten is 8 weeks, not newborn or anything).  I've been using frontline and similar meds for quite some time and I was sure what he was saying wasn't correct.  When you use frontline you are supposed to apply the entire vial to the back of the cat's neck... of course making sure that it's the correct product for its age/weight.  Those vials are not even resealable.  I was really dumbfounded that a veterinarian would not know this.  And they even carry that exact product in their office!So the doctor then gave me a tube of eye ointment for the kitten's eye infection.  It had absolutely no instructions on it, in fact the writing on it was in another language.  He didn't explain how to use it, and I had to ask him.   He very vaguely said "oh.... give it about two to three times a week."  That sounded completely wrong to me because I have had a stray kitten in the past with an eye infection and the ointment was supposed to be done three times a day.  I asked him about this and he said "well maybe once a day."  I asked again because he was being very unclear.  He then said "if you want you can do it twice a day."  The whole time it was very difficult to get a straight answer out of him, and honestly it sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about.   So I took the eye medicine and we left.  He also gave the kitten a deworming.  When I got home I finally thought to google the name of the eye ointment and look for instructions online, which I found, and it said that it was supposed to be done four times a day for 5-7 days.  I don't understand how a veterinarian could have such poor communication and be so wrong about basic things.  Also during the "exam" he did not check the kitten's ears, take his temperature, weigh him... I felt like it was a very half-assed exam.  Yes it was free and I was only charged for the eye ointment and deworming.This place has lower prices than many other vets but I would not go here again.  Very sub-par service. Dr. Ibrahim has been my poodle's vet for 11 years and I wouldn't want it any other way. Dr. Ibrahim is direct (no sugar coating ever) and efficient, and cares for animals as if they were here own. The technicians here are also really sweet and forgive my fur baby when she's feisty during her visits (could you really blame her though?)No appt needed, but be ready to wait. It's a no frills office with only 2 exam rooms and the waiting room gets PACKED. Like, lines out the door type of packed sometimes. But when it comes to our pets, does the wait even matter? It's worth every second.I can't speak for the other doctors since I usually come in on the days Dr. Ibrahim is here, but she is the real deal. Most reasonable of any place I have been with any of my pets. They do what is needed with followup and no adding things to pad the bill that are not necessary. Just try to avoid going Sunday if it isn't an urgent problem. The vet on Sunday just shouldn't be a vet. Mostly personality speaking. He does seem to know what he is doing but I have an 11 lb. dog that had an eye infection and in order to look in the dogs eye he wanted to muzzle him. No aggression or growling and my dog got so upset. When I went back for follow up I saw Dr. I and she had no issue and even commented how good the dog was. Read Less

On June 5th, my boyfriend rescued a baby kitten from my yard. He had been abandoned, was very small and very weak. The next morning we brought him to the vet and he was seen by Doctor Mastrangelo. She warned us of how dangerously dehydrated he was, confirmed his sex, said he was otherwise healthy, and to get him on KMR. Over the course of the week, He was getting stronger, eating well- his personality started to come out.  We named him Wolf. We began weaning him onto kitten food because he was getting to big for me to bring to work and feed him everyday. He started to have diarrhea, probably because of the change in his diet, but his eyes also got a little goopy and I wanted to be sure it wasn't anything more serious.I brought him back, and at my request he was seen by a different vet.Did he get dewormer?You're giving him antibiotics for his eyes, right?He has fleas.And the kicker, Wolf is a girl.I don't have the words to describe how angry I was. That SHE was seen and not properly examined. That SHE was not given proper medication. That I brought HER into my home socializing with my other pets while she has fleas! And of course, that the vet couldn't even properly sex the kitten! I feel like that's something that you learn in Veterinary Kindergarten. Wolf was then sent out with medication and I received a negative result from his.... her... sample, thank goodness. I will not be returning to this Vet because of the neglect and what I can only deduce as laziness. It's a shame because the location was convenient, the hours worked with my crazy work schedule, and the staff is SO NICE. My faith was lost because of this one vet, Doctor Mastrangelo. When it comes to leaving reviews, you can see by my history, every bad restaurant experience is not grant a bad review, because at the end of the day- it doesn't matter.When it comes to the health and welfare of my pets, and YOUR pets, it does matter! I came here for the first time several years ago when my dog was on the verge of dying. I was told there was a 20% chance of survival but the doctors saw how much she meant to me and agreed to perform the surgery, my dog survived feeling better than ever. I continued coming here and always seeing Dr. Ninette Ibrahim. You can really tell she cares so much about your animal and is not just telling you things to take your money! Recently moving to Staten Island, I decided that taking my dog for a 30 minute drive just to see the vet was putting a strain on my dog and decided to find a good doctor here. I decided on Forest Animal Hospital. Took my dog there two days ago and was told my dog had stomach cancer and it could not be anything else !!! Being that my dog is 15yrs old, I decided that we would go to Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge to talk about pain options and finding a way to ease her pain there as she was more familiar with the environment there. We saw Dr. Lynn Mastrangelo, who was extremely caring not only of my dog but me, as at the time I was crying and just needed reassurance that  my dog will be in great care if we do decided to let her go. After examining my dog she told me that my dog DOES NOT HAVE CANCER!! If I had not come here my dog would have been gone just because of an infection!  Long story short the doctors at Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge are THE BEST, and I will not trust my doggo anywhere but here! After many bad experiences at the most famous Brooklyn Vet group I found Animal Clinic is Bayridge and I’m happy to have a Dr and a nice team that I can rely on. DR Ibrahim is sweet and profesional I trust all her decisions, diagnostic and treatment for my dogs. Once one of my dogs was in really bad shape Dr Ibrahim took her time to call me to ask about my dog before she left the office, that call calmed me down because my dog was in a delicate condition. Also all the Vet Techs are great and funny. They always try to make my pets comfortable. Today my 14pound dog had to do a blood work and dr Ibrahim did it precisely and fast.! Price wise it’s better than other places. No appointment need it and the time wait depends on how many people are in front of you. Usually I wait less than half and hour! Just finished with a vet visit for my baby golden retriever Lea. She wasn't scared of the doctors and was extremely playful with the rest of the dogs that was waiting to be seen by the doctors. This clinic deserves 10 stars, but I can only give a max of 5, so I guess I have to resign myself to giving 5.I recently adopted my baby, Cleo, and I noticed that she had been shaking her head frequently and had been pawing at her ear so I figured it could be ear mites.I called the clinic and Kim, the kind and beautiful lady who works at the front desk, told me that they were all booked for the day, but that I could still come in and have Cleo's ears checked because she knew how uncomfortable ear mites are and it could turn into a really bad ear infection if not treated promptly.I brought Cleo in and sure enough, she was examined and ear mites were found. I am so pleased with the way the doctor handled my cat and checked her. Cleo was scared, but she was not traumatized by the experience of this checkup (when we got home she went right back to being the chipper kitty she is). The visit itself was $25, the ear mite medication was $18. For a grand total of $43, my baby was seen and taken care of in a way that made me very satisfied. As an added bonus, they clipped her nails for free.I will DEFINITELY be back to this animal clinic and will most certainly recommend it to my friends with pets.A word to the wise: if you're coming on a Saturday or Sunday, get there early!!! I took my yorkie to the Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge  this week because he had blood in his urine.  They performed major surgery and released my dog to my care. They said that the dog would be more comfortable at home.  My yorkie was not eating or drinking and kept throwing up.  I called them and they said I had to take him to the emergency room.  I did and surgery was performed but they had to put my dog down. I was told by the surgeon that put my dog down that the doctor at the Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge compromised the dog's blood supply, in other words he botched the surgery.  IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC.  THE DOCTOR IS INCOMPETENT AND WILL KILL YOUR PET. The place is a little bit run down and of course there are pets there so it is not always clean but they do pretty good about keeping it clean. About a year ago my dog need surgery to remove a tumor from her toe. I went to Banifield hospital which referred me to a vet that quoted me 5000+. I was devastated because I could never afford that. I went to animal clinic of bay ridge and they did the surgery and recovery process with meds and check ups for only 895!!!! I thank God for this place they saved my baby! Read Less

He charged me $600 to check my cat for crystals, but didn't tell me how to prevent it from reoccurring or any after-care steps to take. I felt like he was trying to run unnecessary tests (and did) not at all related to my cats symptoms to soak every penny out of us financially. You could see he really couldn't have cared any less about his well-being. Never again!!! I was skeptical to take my dog here because of some bad reviews, but my experience was amazing. I took my dog to get spayed here, I was really nervous. The staff including the reception  was completely exceptional, they will go out of their way to really help you and resolve any issue. Dr. Alexandru has been doing this for years, and even though he's not very talkative, he knew exactly  what to do. They don't take appointments you just walk in which is really great because they don't charge you for walk-ins like most vets. ACOBR  are fair priced and it doesn't seem like they're trying to push something for money, which it has been my experience with other Vets; and when I see a vet trying to hustle me for money over my dog's life,  I get really skeptical right away. I did not feel this way with the Animal Clinic Of Bay Ridge, they demonstrated they love animals and they truly love Caring for them. I had my kitten Faust neutered here a few days ago and my son brings his dog Sadie and his cat Zoe here when needed too. My Faust is doing great and was back to his frisky self by the time I got him home that evening. I was given antibiotics to give him for the next few days. The receptionist is wonderful and so is the care they provide. The prices are super reasonable also. They also accept the Muffins Pet Connection neuter/spay certificate which saves you some money too.I came here after I totally got ripped off at another vet... Bay Ridge Animal HOSPITAL... ON 68TH Street. They charged me $170 for a visit plus pre-op bloodwork and then wanted to charge me an additional $144 for the surgery even though I had the Certificate and an additional trip to make a few days later!! The receptionist there is very rude and curt as well. When I decided to come to this Bay Ridge Animal CLINIC ON 86TH Street, they said pre-op bloodwork is NOT needed on healthy cats, no reason to make two trips and they fairly charged me ONLY $76 with the Certificate which cost me $50. Total for a male cat $126. The other vet Bay Ridge Animal Hospital on 68th street would have cost me a total with Certificate of approx $300!! Total scammers! I highly recommend this Bay Ridge Animal CLINIC on 86th street if you love your pets and also want affordable care for them! Read Less

This is a wonderful place for your companion(s)!I went to this place on 3/23/2017 for the first time and met with Dr. Ibrahim.Dr. Ibrahim is a incredible person and a professional vet. She took very good care of my cat and provided me with in depth info about my cat's health. We did ear infection treatment, blood work and vaccines on that day. The other reason I came here is to learn about health certificate for international flight.The blood work came back on 3/26/2017 and Dr. Ibrahim was very kind and thoughtful to call me and told me about the results.Overall this is the best vet I have ever met since I became a pet owner 10 year ago.It's affordable clinic, caring, and welcoming. The receptionist is very nice and extremely friendly.Note to all: Dr. Ibrahim is one of few Vets who can produce a health certificate for international flight. Not all vet has license to do that. I have been coming here for 16 years .I have had very positive out comes,I have Boxers and they have issues with allergies and heart .and skin . Nugget was treated many times here . she had issues ,nut we managed them well and she passed away of old age related illness at 11 which is the threshold of life expectancy for boxers,Now we have Coco chanel who came from a real farm in upstate NY  .What a difference very minor problems but I do not trust anyone but these guys they are reasonably price and very good vets .I would never feel comfortable going anywhere else. My experience at Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge was mixed, and unfortunately the negative aspects of the visit outweighed the positives.To their credit, the pricing of services is great. I came in to get anti-anxiety medication for my dog, and they didn't charge me for a wellness exam. I only paid for the medication itself, which was really nice of them. However- when I explained why I needed the medication (to keep my dog calm while we train her to get through separation anxiety), the vet looked at me like I was trying to find a quick fix for the problem. He explained that nothing would work as well to keep her calm as a person being with her. Which is correct, but I didn't need my dog examined by a professional to reach that conclusion. He didn't offer me any other suggestions as to how to address the issue if medication was something he disagreed with. That aside, he did give me some medication for my dog. But upon returning home, I noticed that: a) The label on the prescription bottle had no instructions for when/how often to administer the medication, and b) One dosage per pill is written on the bottle but another dosage per pill is listed on the receipt. I have no idea which is accurate. The unclear labeling and haphazard dispensing of medication is extremely troubling to me, and for this reason I will not be returning to this clinic. The prices are good, which is a huge upside, but I would be extremely careful to double check everything if you use their services. Read Less

For the last year and a half this has been my family's go to clinic from Brooklyn all the way to Queens. The staff is caring, paitent, understanding, and compassionate. A week ago one of the eldest, Jake (rescued labrador) got worst and the family knew what was to come but wanted to make it through the night. We weren't sure if the clinic would be open in the morning because it was New Years Eve. We reached out to the clinic and Dr. Ibrahim and received a response. Dr. Ibrahim's care, explanation, understanding and non-judgmental demeanor as far as family decisions was exceptional. In addition, it was a busy morning and she took her time with each patient. Dr Alexandru should be called Dr kavorkian!!He gave my dog the wrong amount of medication for a sore knee that put her into toxic shock.He doesn't write the names of the medications on the bottles so you're forced to go back to him for help. This is illegal. I am reporting him and everyone should stay away from this office if you love your pets. He's a crook that just tries to make as much money as possible off each pet owner without regard for the pet. How can you dispense medication from the office without the name of the medication, strength or even the name of the pet or owner? What happens if the bottles are inadvertently switched.  The wrong medication could easily be given and you would never know it because all you get is a blank bottle with directions for use. No medication name!Nobody knows what's going on in that office. He should have his license revoked if he has one!!!! Read Less

I probably called 30 vets to get a quote on an office visit. I was honestly shocked at the $60-$90 prices I was being given, but finally stumbled upon this place. I think a simple visit costs about $20-$30 which cannot be beat in the area.They do not take appointments so I recommend going early if you're on a schedule. The staff loved our dog and made him feel welcomed. He was treated successfully for his ear infection and the price was reasonable for what was needed (meds, etc). What I enjoyed most about this place is the lack of pretentiousness from the staff that I seem to receive from most vets and their extreme prices. Read Less

Dr. Alexandru took great care of my dog, and the thing I most loved was that he didnt try to charge me for no reason. Yesterday this marvelous place saved my precious lab mix's life by performing an amazing surgery to remove a huge infected blood filled uterus. Coco is our baby and these marvelous people gave her back to us. As she sits on a chair very unhappy about the lampshade on her head I am grateful to them forever. I love coming to this Clinic for numerous reasons. The wait here is not too bad, the hours of operation are great, and the clinic exam is only 25 dollars. I've looked at other vets and all the other vets would charge at least 60 dollars and up just for the exam. Dr. NInette Ibrahim happens to be the doctor that I always see and she's very friendly and informative. She takes her time and explains what's going on with my pet thoroughly. NOT CLEAN!! Don't risk pest transmissions!!!They gave my cat fleas and when I called to inform them of this risk, they were rude and denied it. Its like calling someone who gave you herpes when you were previously a virgin. Thats how they acted. They got very defensive and angry, instead of sympathetic and understanding. I have three other cats who now all have fleas. Its not a difficult thing to prevent! No need for rudeness or denial! I brought my cat in because of an infection on his paw. He was otherwise totally healthy. A few weeks later my husband and I began getting bites on our legs in bed, and then saw bugs swarming all over our cats face. Did some research and discovered they are fleas. The lady before me (the day I brought my cat to the vet) brought her cats in for flea treatment and my cat went directly next. Clearly they don't do enough to sanitize!!!This place is like an ER for pets with low quality vets who rush you out and charge you more than the nicer quality vets in bay ridge. I usually go to one Love animal hospital, and theyve always been great. I recommend them if you live in bay ridge. Cheaper, better quality service, clean rooms, professional environment. They often take walk in/emergency cases if theyre free, so generally there is no need to bring your pet to a "first come first serve" type of doctor. Ill never make the mistake of going there again. Preventing flea transmission at a veterinarian is too important to risk, and quality pet care shouldnt involve being told youre a liar when your cat suddenly develops a new issue you KNOW is related to the vet care they received. This is an excellent practice, I still come here even though I moved to another part of Brooklyn. I first encountered them when I rescued a kitten, and they took really good care of her without making one good deed a huge expense. The thing is, the prices are always totally reasonable! I had to bring my sweet Leo in for a little allergy flareup. For the exam, three medications and two injections it was all below $160 and I thought that was really reasonable. I told mom that I had to get 3 medicines and two injections and she said "did they give you a payment book" and I laughed and told her the actual cost and she was amazed. The care is fantastic and they have such a nice bedside manner. Later in the day I was worried about his eye being inflamed still, and I called, and the doctor took the phone call immediately and politely and patiently explained that it was normal. Such awesome people and awesome care. The wait can be cumbersome because of the nature of the clinic - they don't take appointments except for surgeries- but I've been there many times and it's never too bad. Read Less

I had not needed to visit this Vets office for years since first adopting my cat Shadow from the streets of Bay Ridge and once she was given a clean bill of health and all her shots, we didn't come back that often with the exception to get her fixed and do some follow up.  She was an indoor feline with no going outside or interaction with other animals outside of her own offspring over the course of my owning her.  She was 6 months old when I brought her in and a very pleasant warm animal from the start.  Sadly I had to visit these folks when Shadow's health took a rapid turn for the worst a few weeks ago and it would be her final visit to the place as the doctor felt it was her time to leave us.  I had hoped that maybe she just had a flu or something but it was a bit worse from the look of it.  She was fourteen years of age and led a comfortable life in two different apartments over the years that I had her.  At my appointment to make the decision the staff and the doctor were kind as all get out during my sadness in dealing with this course of action and it really made it easier on my handling it all.  There is a real visible concern in their office which I appreciated very much as I let my girl go and they are to be commended on this.  I think if you are in this neighborhood and need to use a Vet that they should be on your quick list over the few others that can be found in close proximity. Tried this Vet on a whim - had an emergency on labor day weekend (Monday) and Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge was open! The reception was super sweet to me given my frantic state and said just come in! Brought the puppy in and within two minutes of JUST examining my pup Dr. Alexandru was able to diagnose the problem. I may have asked many questions - he basically said, 'I've been doing this for a very long time.' I truly respect the fact that he said that.. like calm down lady! When i told my boyfriend to guess what the damage was - for an exam, antibiotic shot, and anti inflammatory shot - rx of antibiotics and rx of anti anti inflammatory - he guessed 400 - IT WAS 160. we were amazed!! Our regular vet would've costed us at least 400 for bloodwork X-rays the whole monty - and then try and sell us pet insurance on top of it.. Point being - if you are tired of getting ripped off at your vet come to this vet! Dr. Alexandru has probably +50 years of experience - he has seen it all. He truly loves his job and it shows. I love this clinic for my babies, Sonny and Rizzo. My boy Sonny has made more visits cause he is 5 years old and has had a few issues but they were all taken cared of by his Vet Ninette Ibrahim. She is wonderful, kind and so sweet with my big boy Sonny. I would not take my babies anywhere else but to this Animal Clinic. I have had no problems and I feel they are reasonable with their fees. I have been happy with the results the 2 times that I took my Sonny sick to Ms. Ibrahim. She is just great. Read Less

They are always super nice in there and the doctor is awesome. You might wait a bit and they can be a tad under staffed by the reception area but it's worth it. The reason is because when it's your turn the doctor never acts like he's rushing you out of there and is extremely patient. He answers all my questions and concerns even though I'm probably a little annoying being a first time pet owner (a now 8 month year old cat). The spaying was very well priced, the wound healed perfectly and the staff was delicate the whole time I saw them with her. She now has a hereditary parasite (worm) I'm working to clear up with the antibiotic but im confident in the treatment given the instructions by the staff. It's hard to get help like this now a days. Patience, care and professionalism goes a long way. Which is why I will always recommend this clinic if you're in the area. No wonder they're busy. Read Less

It's hard to describe the level of kindness and compassion this team showed me and my family. We brought Coby (16 year old pit/lab mix) in after having suffered a stroke. It was our first time there. We carried him in tears and they cared for him and loved him as if he were a regular patient of theirs. We made the hardest decision we've ever had to make and we said our final good byes. After trying out several places I have found myself most comfortable here. First, they only charge $25 a visit. Second, you don't need an appointment. Third, the vets here seem very gentle & sweet. You can talk to them and they genuinely seem concerned & helpful. When another vet (Dr. Keshner, of Pet Haven) couldn't be bothered to look at my dog's watery eye problem, Dr.  Ibrahim (of Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge) did and she quickly prescribed eye drops which seem to have worked. (I like that she wanted to try treating the problem before sending me to a costly specialist. Worse case scenario, if the problem returns I'll go to a specialist but I want to know I pursued other options first.) And finally, the overall prices here are the most competitive I've seen. Also, my cat's ear infection was confirmed & treated by Dr. Swails (of Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge) when another vet (Dr. Roy Appel of Fifth Avenue Veterinary Hospital) said it was nothing and did nothing.  (How could a brown & white puss-like liquid dripping out of my cat's ear, while he constantly scratched & aggressively shook his head, be nothing??)  I'm no doctor but that just seems wrong. Also, Dr. Swails went out of her way to assist my dog with an allergy issue he was having when he tagged along for my cat's appointment for no charge. So far I'm a fan of Animal Clinic of Bay Ridge. 4.5/5 Stars!If you read my review of Animal Clinic of 20th Avenue, you'll see that Dr. Alexandru suggested that I bring my cat to this clinic (his normal practice) because the previous place was unable to do x-rays for my cat. He did all her tests needed here since it was just overall easier to do so. She was there for 5 days and after the first day I found out she had diabetes. Dr. Alexandru gave me updates on her condition daily and showed concern for me being able to administer her injections once I got her home. When I picked her up, it was a busy Saturday and the doctor was filling in again over at the clinic at 20th Avenue, but the tech showed me how to give the injection and I spoke to the doctor on the phone before leaving. I was expecting a huge bill. but it was considerably less than what I had read about on the internet and appreciated that she was so well taken care of.I've been giving her injections for several days now and even though I was nervous the first time I quickly learned to relax and just do it. The vet tech even called the day after I picked her up to check on her and make sure she was okay and I was managing. Little things like this made me appreciate this even more.I can't comment on any of the other doctors at this practice, but Dr. Alexandru and his vet tech made my baby act like herself again. I'll keep bringing her to them as long as she keeps getting great treatment.(- .5 stars because the waiting room can be quite the scene depending on the time of day.) Read Less
