I've been taking my somewhat elderly epileptic dog to Dr Jacobson for a while now. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the care she renders. She's thorough, gentle and you can really see she loves animals. I credit her with keeping my dog in such good shape given his health issues. She really cares about her patients and their "parents". My dog wasn't feeling well last Wednesday night. We thought she had difficulty breathing. I found this clinic and my cousin took her in Thursday. Queeny (my dog) was given antibiotics and we were told the breathing was part of our dog being scared in the office. Saturday morning Queeny was out breath and we rushed to the hospital. It turned out she had CHF and fluid in lungs. If the doctor listen to the heart and lungs carefully she would not have missed the signs. I have 2 cats and Linda Jacobson is their doctor since they were born. Now, one is 16 and the other one is 6. Linda is very attentive, always finds time to listen and is careful before prescribing drastic measures. My cats had various issues and Linda tackled all of them. I've been going to Dr. Jacobson for a while and everything was fine.  The past 5 months my cat has had a recurring medical problem and the dr. that has been looking after my cat can't give me a concrete diagnosis and keeps telling me to do more tests.  The receptionist is awful.  She's cold and only cares about taking my money.  Time to find another vet. Client requested that Dr.Linda Jacobson's office post this review on google for her. I spent the first year of my dogs life getting the advice of several different veterinarians. After many unfortunate experiences I became increasingly discouraged and suspicious of the advice I was being given. I was told to give my Cocker Spaniel puppy antibiotics in situations where it wasnt warranted. She was on an unnecessarily restrictive diet. I knew in my heart of hearts something wasnt right. I was so relieved when I found Dr. Linda Jacobson at Dr. Linda Pet Vet. All her advice made perfect sense to me. Her treatments were not dissimilar to treatments for human beings. They were mostly over the counter solutions to minor problems. I only wish I met her when I first got my puppy. It would have saved me endless amounts of anxiety, money, and guilt at the sense that I was always doing the wrong thing. I have been bringing my dogs here pretty much since they where born my 11 year old dog fluffy went in for a teeth cleaning and 1 tooth to be removed and over medicated him kept him under anastasia 1hr 45 minutes and them gave him to much medication to take at home and 1 week exactly from surgery my dog passed away I found out from another vets office that he had diabetes which they never told me about and he basically for the last week suffered until we put him down this dog was in perfect 100 % health and condition they killey dog with overdosing him STAY AWAY FROM THIS VETERINARY OFFICE DR LINDA JACOBSON OFFICE they are a bunch of crooks Read Less

Dr. Jacobson's is by FAR the best vet I've ever been to. They've taken care of all my pets with all the love and compassion in the world. All the doctors, techs and staff are amazing! There's times I'll be walking my dog and go in just to visit so she can see everyone there, because she gets tons of hugs and kisses! Lol I call them to ask how much is an examination foe the vet to see my dogs feet bcz he's licking them too much, and the lady tells me $59. $59 to just look at my dog for 2 seconds and tell me yes he has fungus or no... are u kidding me? The Doctors are nice and fine. The reason why they get 1 star is their receptionist is the absolute worst. I just had some old lady argue with me about if I said "Tonight" or "Today"..... Like really? Who cares what am I saying now? Today??? Great make the stupid appointment for today. Then on top of that while I was trying to explain the reason for coming in she just gave me a blank stare. Let me preface the fact that I was on my morning walk with my Shiba and Pug and decided since I was right there to stop in and make an appointment for my cat, I digress... I asked her to make an appt for my cat and again with the 2 minutes of silence after my request and the stupidest blank stare a person can possibly give she says "Cat?" I say "Yes, cat...." She says again "CAT???!?!?!?!" I said "YES CAT!" She goes "but you have 2 dogs with you...." -__-The only reason I can imagine why this woman has a job is because of nepotism.... Seriously Linda Jacobson fire your receptionists (the last one who was there when I came in 6 months ago was also rude) and hire someone with a brain and personality...... Dr. Jacobson saved my second kitty when she ingested a string. Also, I had a concern about an issue that took place with my kitty from 14 years ago and asked her about and and Dr. Jacobson was nice enough to offer her time to talk me through the issue. My first cat had terminal cancer and was operated on. I was young at the time and didn't understand why she was operated on and asked Dr. Jacobson recently and she took the time to explain which was very nice of her.Read Less

We have been using them for about 10 years now and find all the staff compassionate in their care of our cat, Oliver and our previous Cat, Kylie. Dr. Jacobson is such a knowledgeable vet. She is so caring and even took the time to give me some advice about the cats at the shelter that I help out at! Its hard to find a really caring vet, that can build a good rapport with both the animals and people. It is worth the trip in from NJ. I came home from vacation one day in 2009 to discover that my cat (who I had left in the care of my father) was dying from some severe stomach problem. My father had taken the cat to a local vet, who had simply given her meds and sent her home. She was not eating for drinking, and had feces literally leaking out of her body, and covering her fur. I immediately took her to Dr. Jacobson. She told me I needed to get my cat to an emergency room ASAP if I wanted her to live because she needed care that the office couldn't provide. She warned me it would be expensive. I took my cat to the emergency room, and within 24 hours the cat  was feeling much better. I believe that if Dr. Jacobson hadn't sent my cat to the ER, my cat would be dead. Today she is 16 years old and super healthy! I have been back to Dr. Linda for a tooth decay issue and had success. They have always taken great care of my babies. The doctors and the staff are the best and very knowledgable. They truly care about animals. Linda and her staff are also so kind and caring. My babies and I have always felt very important. They never rushed us out. They always took the time to give me all options and information so I could be well informed to make the best decisions for my babies. I have been going to Linda Jacobson for many years. Recently, while on vacation, my dog became ill. He has a history of health issues so I became very concerned. I called the Clinic and it was Linda's day off. Within a few minutes Linda called us back from her cell phone to see what the problem was with our dog. After speaking with Linda she suggested we take him directly to a hospital. We informed her of the hospital nearby and gave her the information. By the time we arrived there all of our information regarding our dog's medical history had been faxed to the hospital. After the initial examination the hospital called Linda on her cell phone and discussed a course of action. This communication continued between Linda and the hospital for the next few days. On Sunday night we were able to pick up our pet, we had a tel # from Linda if there were any complications - which there were none - and we were the first visit with Linda on Monday morning. Anyone who loves a pet knows It is difficult and anxiety provoking to be isolated from your medical support system when he is sick. But those fears were quickly resolved when it became apparent I was 'away' but not 'isolated' because Linda was always at the other end of our calls for help. I could not conceive of any other veternarian caring (almost) as much as we do for our Max! Read Less

My dog's been a patient here for the past 7 years, and I've finally had enough and switched vets. While the docs are competent, knowledgeable and friendly, the front desk is lazy, incompetent and rude. Not once, in 7 years, was I seen on time or at the very least within an hour of my scheduled appointment. If you can't manage your appointments, have the courtesy to call me and tell me that the doc is running late. Don't waste 2 hours of my time because you double booked or didn't feel like picking up the phone. When I did leave the office and asked for a copy of my chart, I was told that I will be charged 75 cents per page and I have to get a notarized letter explaining why I'm leaving their practice. Are they for real??? I don't dare ask patients in my own office for money for copies of THEIR OWN RECORDS, and I would never even imagine asking for a reason as to why they wish to switch doctors. It's none of your damn business why I wish to leave. Sad to see the talents of good vets wasted by horrible office management. Read Less

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Jacobson. I was living in Las Vegas for 7 years.Upon my return my Mastiff who had cancer was in pain. I called Dr. J and she waited for me to get there until 9:00 PM She took excellent care of her, But had to be put to sleep 2 weeks later. Dr. J and her office manager Debbie came to my home after hours to put her to sleep. They they drove back to Brooklyn with her and my son, so that in the morning she could be picked up and creamated . I haven't been to Dr. Jacobson's office in a few years, because I've changed locations, but I'm sure my memory serves me well.A few years back, I was in a tight spot because my older cat was not reacting well to a 6-8 week old kitten I'd found abandoned outside. I'd initially taken the kitten to St Francis Animal Hospital in Bensonhurst, but after a) they spelled his name wrong (I named the kitten Havoc, which they spelled Havik), b) they overcharged me, c) they misdiagnosed him as a female instead of a male (by two separate personnel- the vet and the vet assistant), d) they failed to realize that the kitten had two types of parasites instead of one type that they'd started treating him for, and e) I noticed a sign they had that said an unruly pet would warrant a $10 fine from its owner, I decided I would need to find another vet that could treat both of my cats without being fussy and erroneous about it. And that's where Dr. Jacobson's office came in. They were able to fix all of the other vet's offices mistakes without too much of a charge on me, and they were quite brave with my older cat when I finally brought him in and he was in savage kill mode. And they didn't make me feel bad about anything, or seem to pass a negative judgment on my poor stressed-out older cat, who is usually very sweet. Everything is fine in my household now, and the two cats act like brothers, which I attribute largely to Dr. Jacobson's office for the treatment and advice they were able to offer. Read Less

I make a 1pm appointment with the lady on the phone to bring my kitten in to get checked on since we just adopted her.The lady says to me "be here no later than 1pm...best to arrive early."Ok...so we arrive at 12:45pm, sign in and talk to the secretary...she says take a seat and please wait, the vet is busy today...so we go sit and wait.and wait...and wait some more.Finally at 1:25 I ask the secretary what the deal is, to which she replies "oh the vet is backed up with appointments today, and an emergency came in about 10 minutes ago."Well 10 minutes ago was 1:15..and I had been sitting there for a good 30 minutes...no one came in or out...so where is this mysterious emergency that came in 10 minutes ago?Finally at 1:45 we are called in...yes 45 minutes late...and no apology or anything. So I bring it up, and the vet says, "yes I had an emergency with someone...they called our office in a panic because they think that there dog ate some chocolate."Now that I think that is not important...but A) Bring the damn dog in, and B) You have customers sitting outside waiting for you with an appointment. What exactly could she do over the phone?Well we got the check up, Lilly is a-ok and we will not be returning for a follow up...and if we do...next time we will just call...seems easier. Read Less
