Both veterinarians are excellent as well as the heaven sent staff.My cat Renki has asthma.For years I have looked for a vet able to treat it with success.Thankfully Dr B (forgot the spelling of his name, forgive me) came along.My Renki hasn't had an attack in years (knock on wood) with his management.I remember coming from Long island to St Francis hospital in a blizzard when my cat was sick and they took the best care of us both.Forever grateful to them all. Balanced, reasonable vet. They offer a variety of treatments rather than insisting on an overpriced expensive procedure. My cat Juju had red gums and a different vet had recommended expensive procedures involving possible tooth extraction. I came here for second opinion. They gave antibiotics, recommended brushing his teeth and after using the prescription for a couple weeks the infection in the mouth went away. never ever take your pet to st.francis animal hospital! i took my puppy (mulberry) there and the vet completely misdiagnosed her, put her on the wrong medicine and then lied to me about it!! like actually hid the information from me!! when i realized my puppy's condition wasn't gettng better, which put her in the emergency room, i had to seek a more professional and competent doctor, which is normal. so get this, his office denied me my own dogs medical records!!! my other vet (vinegar hill) was calling and requesting them so they could be more informed about my pupps condition, and they denied them the records!!! this went on for about 2 days until we got them. make a long story short, save yourself the time and headache and do not put your beloved 4 legged friend (or any other pet for that matter) in the hands of these unethical and unprofessional scumbags at - st.francis animal hospital, located at 7303 13th avenue. Once again it has been confirmed that I will never go back to this office.They are nasty and overpriced. They gauge their prices at every turn. They think they know everything, and they don't.  This is why I travel 40 minutes to go to a real vet. Always trust your instincts and never settle for subpar veterinary care for your dog! Read Less

Thank you guys for being in this neighborhood. They really take care of your pets.. Clean and professionals.. I found out that last time I visited them, they forgot to give me something but charged me for that.. No questions needed, they gave it to me right away.. The Italian doctor that I can't recall her name is great.. So friendly with me and my dog..  The Russian guy too.. Even if you have to wait a few more minutes than your appointment is scheduled for it worth the waiting...  But the best on this animal hospital is the prices.. Nothing but good things to say about St. Francis Animal Hospital. We were seen fairly quickly but were there about 2 1/2 hours. My kitty is quite sick. They were so thorough, running many tests. Every single thing was explained to me in detail. They took their time. The staff treated my boy like royalty. Now I'm awaiting test results to find out what the next step will be. I should not have waited so long to switch veterinarians. I highly recommend St. Francis to anyone that needs animal care. Read Less

Very over priced I pay $600 + just for blood work and a sono for my dog which had a weight drop, results came back as if my dog had nothing and they kept calling and insisting I leave my dog for over night testing charging additional 4-500, my dog gladly recuperated and is ok! After moving to Brooklyn from Manhattan with an elderly boxer, I searched for a good vet.  There was one on my doorstep.  I cannot say enough good things about this clinic, the vets and the staff.  Towards the end of his life, Oscar began suffering swelling, abscesses and other illnesses.  St. Francis was there for me.  And they were there for me at the end when I made the decision to end Oscar's suffering.  The allowed me ugly-snot-cry, held me and him and were so gentle that I don't think I can ever forget the staff's kindness. I can't say enough about this place. The staff and doctors are terrific. I brought our first westie spunky there to be boarded while we went away, for the weekend and they treated her so well, taking her for walks and playing with her. Even when we brought her in on her last and final visit, as her kidneys and liver were failing, dr Thompson was so amazing. We then thought we wouldn't get another dog for awhile, then one day Dr Thompson called and said she had a westie who was hit by a car, and if he survived the surgery would we want him, we immediately said yes, and she had been treating him until last October when we relocated to our new home in Arizona.  We miss all the staff at St Francis animal hospital, and have text them to anyone of our friends in Brooklyn. Every time I took my Boxer Buddy I was treated wonderfully. Buddy didn't even mind going. On our last visit when I had to put Buddy to sleep the doc Steven Brigante was wonderful, compassionate and let me say good-bye in my own time. We will never forget how well our dogs Spunky, Cesar, and HoneyPie were treated either when we boarded them or brought them in for their check ups . Dr. Steven Brigande and his assistant Paul were very inviting and explained the health issues my cat had. They really took the time to make sure my cat was comfortable. I didn't wait long for them to call my cat and I in. I would recommend this place even though it is a bit costly but very well worth it. It is hard to come across caring, knowledgeable doctors that will take the time in going in depth and explaining whats best for your pet. Read Less

Been coming to this clinic for my temperamental little dog since 2006, and they have been nothing but patient, understanding and professional in all dealings about his welfare. Drs Battiato, Brigande, Thomson and Augiello are excellent with pet-handling skills to match (and my dog's a tough cookie!), and the vet techs are such wonderful souls. Very informative , caring vets.  Not cheap but efficient and knowledgeable.  I needed to get my dog vaccines updated and though i waited 30 minutes to see the vet, it was worth it.  Highly recommend and will be seeing them again in the future. Read Less
