If I could give your Veterinary practice ZERO stars I would! My family has been bringing animals to your practice for years, and the quality of care has continued to decline! From my mother being told she was bad pet parent for having a sick animal euthanized (because she couldn't dish out thousands of dollars on a surgery that had less than a 50/50 chance) to the care you have provided to my 5 animals personally. When my 14 year old rabbit, yes he lived to 14, had to be euthanized you left me sitting in the waiting area ALONE crying my eyes out while my animal was taken from my hands, euthanized, and I was handed back a dead body in a box! I have NEVER heard of a practice not allowing you to be with your animal for this procedure, but you had no problem with it. Then I bring in a Great Dane puppy, and one of your vets tried convincing me Hill's Science Diet puppy food was the BEST food for him and lectured me on how uneducated I was for feeding a raw diet, mind you this was AFTER telling me how healthy he was and how wonderfully he was growing/developing! This same vet tried to convince me to neuter my Dane puppy at just 4 months old! Anyone who knows anything about extra large breeds knows that is a huge no no; their body needs to develop properly BEFORE being neutered, and 18 months or older is the recommended age but I'm not vet so my opinion and research didn't matter. Then offering to cut my newly rescued bully breed mix's nails and he was quicked so bad the powder didn't even work to stop the bleeding! The whole foot had to be wrapped up; I've never quicked him, but again I'm no vet so no one cared what I had done or how I did it... but you were so nice (*note sarcasm) to tell me you wouldn't charge me for that service, I mean you only clipped 2 nails and one had my dog bleeding EVERYWHERE, but you're the professionals. And lastly and most importantly the straw that broke the camel's back! My Dane ended up sick and not eating, he was brought to your practice for an "emergency visit" as we knew something wasn't right, well it took about 5 minutes to even be acknowledged... sounds like an emergency, right? After tests and xrays etc he was diagnosed with gastroenteritis, no big deal. Then he was prescribed 3 medications to "make him better," and given the MAXIMUM dosage of metronidazole for his weight/size; 3000mg per day, 3 pills (500mg each) every 12 hours 6x500 = 3000mg every 24 hours! We were given no drug information, but apparently this drug can cause all sorts of issues with the nervous system! Well, when my big 167lb boy was collapsing in my backyard and I called your practice to see if this was a side effect of the medication I was told, "Someone will call you back." YES! Because a 19 month old puppy collapsing randomly isn't important; why did I need called back you may ask? Oh, because your practice decided there should be an ALL staff meeting DURING regular business hours which you should be open and available! Instead, I received an answering service who could NOT help me! Luckily, my neighbor referred another vet (who I will be writing a rave review for) and helped me get my dog in my car for transport. Not only was someone willing and able to take my call they wanted to see him IMMEDIATELY! I shared with this office the drugs he was prescribed and was informed right away he has metronidazole toxicity, and started showing pre-seizure symptoms. Had they not taken me right away he could have had a full blown seizure, and I would not have known what to do as I was NOT aware this drug could do this to my dog! Did you know 1/3 the amount your office prescribed would have actually cured his GI issue?! But, I'm no vet so what do I know? This drug caused an issue with dog's nervous system and could have been much worse had I not made it to a vet when I did. And to make matters worse, when your office FINALLY returned my call (after he was already hooked up to IV's and being treated) your vet chose to talk over me and be argumentative! Don't you think she should have been apologetic? And maybe tried to rectify the issue? I guess not! The professionalism of this practice has gone right down the drain. Please get properly trained people in there BEFORE you kill someone's pet! And you should probably reconsider and all staff meeting DURING business hours, so next time you poison someone's pet they can actually reach you and receive treatment! So, now for the next 3 to 21 days (depending how long it takes YOUR prescription to leave my dog's system) I will be needing to assist and almost 170lb dog go outside and relieve himself. It breaks my heart watching him fall over and not be able to walk, but since he's not your pet and based off your vet's attitude I'm sure no one cares anyway! Please pull your pets from the practice before it's too late! I'm just thankful I caught this before something worse had happened! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Read Less
