I had a really awful experience here and wanted to share so other pet owners don't visit.I adopted a dog from a shelter and was given a free coupon for one vet visit so I chose to come here. The waiting room was very dirty, there was even a Hershey kiss wrapper on the floor that my dog almost ate. When I saw the doctor I told him that my dog had thrown up once but other than that he seemed ok. The doctor barely examined him, never asked his name, and kept referring to him as "she." He then lectured me for 20 minutes about how my dog needs shots, an ultra sound and surgery and how he has worms and gastritis. I told him to check the paperwork because he just tested negative for heart worms a week ago in which he had no response. They do not care about your animals they only try to sell you stuff. Every time I asked a question about what he was trying to sell me he did not give me an answer, only danced around it, to the point that the vet tech had overheard my frustration and poked her head in and started to actually answer my questions. The kicker: it looked like my dog gobbled up something off of the exam room floor and the doctor said "I just took stitches out of a cat, I hope he didn't eat one." So good to know they do not clean their exam rooms between patients. They also charged me a "new patient fee" even though I had the coupon for a free visit. I did not buy any of the shots, surgeries etc my dog never threw up again and he is fine. This doctor is a quack. Also just to state for the record the vet tech is very nice and knowledgeable, it is a shame she works at such a bad practice.

I took my newly adopted kittens there yesterday for a first time check up.The place was very clean , spacious & had many pamphlets on taking care of your pets.We were taken a bit later than the appt was for, but it was no biggie.The Doctor seemed really good & very experienced. He was very gentle with my babies. I like the way they were handled & talked to.I also liked the fact that everything they were going to need in the near future was very much explained to me.I like the vibe of this Animal Hospital & will keep going there in the future for my kitties.

When my cat began suddenly showing signs of distress ESAH took us on a few hours notice and even though they closed at 6 helped us until after 8pm without once mentioning that we were going too late. They treated us with the same attention as if we had come not after hours, which we greatly appreciated! My cat is doing much better and we are thankful for the care we received for him.

I am grateful and overwhelmed by the kindness the staff at elmwood small animal hospital has shown us with the care my cat, Buzzo, has needed. The reassurance that he is in well educated and gentle hands while he recovers from a scary infection allows me give them 5 stars without hesitation. I went to them originally because they are right up the street from me, but I will continue to go to them and recommend them to friends and family. I know our Buzzo is in great hands... I can not speak high enough about the hospital and all that work there. They truly are a god send!

The service I received for my dog Tony was wonderful, I called because Tony face and neck was swollen. He was having an allergic reaction to a spider bite. The staff got us in with in 1 hour, they gave me meds for Tony explained everything in full detail including what expect over the next couples days, answered all my questions and didn'the break my bank. Even gave me their cell number in case of am emergency. My fiance and I are very happy and thanks to these folks kind and caring service, Tony will be fine in a couple of days. I will never go to this vet again nor recommend it to anyone. I took my boxer puppy there at 3 days old to get her tail docked and he cut it so short her bone was out. My dog was moaning in pain all night than I took her back and asked for antibiotics and he said she didn't have an infection so she didn't need the anti biotic and he took my dog to the back where I heard her screaming and when he brought her out she was wrapped in a towel that had blood and he had restiched her tail. I took her to hamburg the same day and was told she had an infection and needed antibiotics and that she may never be able to hold her stools thanks to how short he cut the tail. When I went back and told him that I got a second opinion and was told she had a infection all he said was that the vet lied and just wanted my money than he asked did I tell anyone and he said her tail was like that from her biting it. How could a week old puppy bite a tail he completely cut off down to the bone? He is a scam and he will do anything to get money from a patient even if that means making your animal sick. PLEASE NO ONE GO TO THIS MONSTER VET. HE SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN!! I WISH I COULD POST PICTURES ON HERE THAT I HAVE OF EHAT HE DID TO MY DOG!!!

We had a tough decision to make, and they really helped us, consoled us and did a wonderful job as we made our decision to say goodbye to our furry family member. I have two kitties of my own and I will definitely go see them more often. Unlike other vets I've been to, these vets care for the animals and their owners. Amazing work and thanks again for being understanding and caring for us.

I couldn't have asked for a better vet! The facility is clean and well maintained. There's never a long wait and appointments can oftentimes be made the same day. Their hours are flexible and accommodate pretty much any schedule.Dr. Ganon Harish is very experienced and trustworthy, I feel so comfortable putting my dog's life in his hands. He walks you through step by step and explains everything thoroughly without rushing you. Even when I was panicked about her health he was patient and explained everything to me which made me feel much more comfortable.I bring my dog here regularly and have even had her dental work done here. He charged 1/3 of the price that other vets were asking. While other vets were telling me they wanted to remove 7 of my dog's teeth, this vet managed to treat her without having to remove any. This was quite relieving for me. He seems to have a very beautiful, effective, and holistic view/approach.On top of his Incredulous knowledge and skill, he is an extraordinary human and I would highly recommend him!

Never again will I take my animal or my money there.

i have been taking my pets here for over 25 years and at one point i got partial billing from them in the case of an emergency and never not even once failed to pay nlow i have 2 7year old pointer/ret...
i have been taking my pets here for over 25 years and at one point i got partial billing from them in the case of an emergency and never not even once failed to pay nlow i have 2 7year old pointer/retriever mixes and one had been diagnosed by dr.spinks with addisons disease and she is not fairing well they want to run a specific test called the acth test to determine which type of addisons she has so she can be medicated properly and after dumping 1300.00 bucks they want 800.00 more and tell me she may not have alot of time unless we get this test done but they refuse to bill me partially or even do it to help my little girl,they gave me a script for dexamethasone and gave me an attitude when i asked for the script so my local phartmacy could fill it cheaper....they have no consideration for the well being of my baby and we have been collecting donations from local people in the neighborhood and my athenas health is very fragile she is suffering because of the lack of caring from the vet...i have $500.00 towards the $800.00 and they still will not do this test and i am sure they will attempt to pad this bill even higher to something we cannot afford.....what has happened here is a lack of caring for the patient and a love of the almighty dollar

I can't decide what is worse here: the uncaring, incompetent vets or the egregious upselling and overcharging. And god forbid you respectfully question one of the dozens of unnecessary used-car-salesman money-making bs ""procedures"" one of the vets recommends; that's when the personal insults and accusations begin! Both vets I have dealt with seem to not particularly care for animals at all - they clearly worship the almighty dollar over your pet's health and well-being. They even charge an extra 2.5% if you pay by credit or debit card, to cover (and then some!) the fees the cc companies charge them. Unreal. All medications and procedures are marked up from 50-100% more than other local vets. Finally, this is simply not a happy place - the techs seem profoundly unhappy, the atmosphere is always incredibly stressful, and the facility - while new - is filthy. There are dozens of competent, friendly, pet-loving veterinarians in western NY; I recommend choosing ANYONE but this one.pay by credit or debit card, to cover (and then some!

I have been coming to elmwood small animal hospital for 30 years. I have never once had a problem and have always been treated great, so have my pets. The staff at Elmwood small animal hospital are very friendly,personable, know me and my pets by name, and everytime I call - they always give me the answers I am looking for. As for the Doctors, they are also great - theyk now how to take care of my pets and fix any problems that they have had.

My dog had a stomach problem, in process of ""investigating"" problem they took almost $2000.00 told me my dog have a shunt (need liver surgery) and refers me to specialist-surgeon.. guess what!! surgeon was surprise to hear about liver.. it not even close to liver..it was stomach problem and its should cost me only $15.00 a month!!

I found this vet overbearing and obnoxious. The vet got quite angry when I asked him to write me prescriptions and ended up charging me $113.00 for medications I could have bought for $43.00. The scale he weighs animals with was off, I think frequently, which means he calculates the medications wrong for the size dog, less than they should get, that he is selling to you, which might lead to prolonging the dog's illness. On a second visit which i assumed was a recheck (as it would have been from any other vet) my dog was hardly looked at and I was charged for a full visit. And, again the scale was not correct. I have trust issues with a vet that is definitely out to collect as much in fees as he can as opposed to caring for my pet.

This vet's new facility is impressive, however, the vet is not. The scale used for weighing pets was off more than 5 lbs on both occasions that I used this facility. That means dosages of medication are given for the wrong weight of the animal. This vet absolutely refused to write prescriptions and medications that should have cost $42.00 on-line, added up to $113.00 and he was very, very annoyed that I had the nerve to ask for a written precription. Also, one medication that he gave me had been issued by a company that the FDA had closed down. The second visit was a recheck where the dog was hardly glanced at but I was charged for a complete visit. I have no objection to paying a decent fee to a decent vet but this vet is obnoxious and definitely overhcarges on all medications he insists that you get from him.

I had a really awful experience here and wanted to share so other pet owners don't visit.I adopted a dog from a shelter and was given a free coupon for one vet visit so I chose to come here. I took my newly adopted kittens there yesterday for a first time check up.The place was very clean , spacious & had many pamphlets on taking care of your pets.We were taken a bit later than the appt was for, but it was no biggie.The Doctor seemed really good & very experienced. He was very gentle with my babies. I like the way they were handled & talked to.I also liked the fact that everything they were going to need in the near future was very much explained to me.I like the vibe of this Animal Hospital & will keep going there in the future for my kitties.

When my cat began suddenly showing signs of distress ESAH took us on a few hours notice and even though they closed at 6 helped us until after 8pm without once mentioning that we were going too late. They treated us with the same attention as if we had come not after hours, which we greatly appreciated! My cat is doing much better and we are thankful for the care we received for him.

I am grateful and overwhelmed by the kindness the staff at elmwood small animal hospital has shown us with the care my cat, Buzzo, has needed. The reassurance that he is in well educated and gentle hands while he recovers from a scary infection allows me give them 5 stars without hesitation. I went to them originally because they are right up the street from me, but I will continue to go to them and recommend them to friends and family. I know our Buzzo is in great hands... I can not speak high enough about the hospital and all that work there. They truly are a god send!

I found this vet overbearing and obnoxious. The vet got quite angry when I asked him to write me prescriptions and ended up charging me $113.00 for medications I could have bought for $43.00. The scale he weighs animals with was off, I think frequently, which means he calculates the medications wrong for the size dog, less than they should get, that he is selling to you, which might lead to prolonging the dog's illness. On a second visit which i assumed was a recheck (as it would have been from any other vet) my dog was hardly looked at and I was charged for a full visit. And, again the scale was not correct. I have trust issues with a vet that is definitely out to collect as much in fees as he can as opposed to caring for my pet.

This vet's new facility is impressive, however, the vet is not. The scale used for weighing pets was off more than 5 lbs on both occasions that I used this facility. That means dosages of medication are given for the wrong weight of the animal. This vet absolutely refused to write prescriptions and medications that should have cost $42.00 on-line, added up to $113.00 and he was very, very annoyed that I had the nerve to ask for a written precription. Also, one medication that he gave me had been issued by a company that the FDA had closed down. The second visit was a recheck where the dog was hardly glanced at but I was charged for a complete visit. I have no objection to paying a decent fee to a decent vet but this vet is obnoxious and definitely overhcarges on all medications he insists that you get from him.
