I felt compelled to write this review after my visit to Nickel City Animal Hospital yesterday. Over the last 15 years of owning dogs I have gone to at least 7 different vets in the area; I could never find “the right one”. Due to the line of work I am in, I have gotten to know the staff at Nickel City over the years. They have always been kind, knowledgeable and honest. As time when on I became more comfortable with the staff there. Now that I own a dog that had issues with people, specifically being handled by people, I needed to find a vet committed to taking the time to deal with her, and deal with me. Nickel City was the place. I first worked with Dr. Alsford. She made each experience with Lila calm and simple. We would talk about any issues in great detail; go over treatments, and procedures if needed. Although, Lila never enjoy being handled, Dr. Alsford took great care in a calm, quick and thorough approach. She always went above and beyond for us; further researching, making things easier for Lila, and taking the time to talk over any new developments. Yesterday, I met with Dr. Lyden for an assessment/quote for a dental procedure. Yet again, another vet from the same facility blew me away! She took her time, never rushed and listened to what my concerns were. Dr. Lyden gave me her honest opinion on what needed to be done and why. If you are looking for an all-encompassing facility, from the receptionists to the veterinarians, this is the place to go.

So glad I picked this clinic when we moved to Buffalo! Seriously, you should go here too. Dr. Sacks and her vet tech Amanda have been amazing. I absolutely love that they provide affordable but effective treatment options and clearly want what's best for our pets' health and our pocketbooks too. We had been to other vets that just ran lots and lots of expensive tests without ever successfully treating the issue. Without any expensive tests, Dr. Sacks identified the issue and a very easy treatment route.

My Sassy was a patient one time and I was establishing her here, I became very I'll in 2/2017 and recently Sassy became VERY sick. They refused to see here till I could pay. I asked about the emergency pet fund and was told nothing about it. Mind you, I have not worked in months due to my illness. I asked actually begged for help online, in website rescues pages that I belong to and everyone said they same thing, "why can't they help you with the emergency pet fund"? I take Sassy to Roswell with me and she is my world. This vet refused to work with me and actually didn't even talk to me. I found a wonderful vet who is seeing her and working with me. These people utilize there pet fund for whom they feel is worthy. Do not go there. I was told by several people, now I know why.

I'm so happy to have found this animal hospital. I went for my first visit yesterday with one of my pugs, Sonny. The visit was just a routine visit and vaccine update. The vet tech was able to answer all my questions. Then before administering anything she printed out a quote of what the visit would cost! That was great! While we were there you could really see how much everyone loved dogs. They were so sweet to Sonny and treated him like their own. The vet was also incredible. I was blown away by the staff here!!

We've had 3 vets in the 10 years I've had my cat and this is the best one by far. The staff is really friendly and gets to know our pets and show love and concern for their well being. There usually isn't a long wait even if you make an emergency appointment and are open on Saturdays. I love this place. :)

They offer all forms of care from traditional to holistic. I have followed Dr. Allen to 3 different animal hospitals over the years. Thankful she finally broke out on her own and transformed and reused an old building in the city. Prices remain fair. Staff couldn't be more friendly

Dog Owners Beware!!!!!! I recently purchased a German Shepard Puppy and decided to go to a hospital that was within walking distance to my house. I would say that my experience on the first couple of visits were fine. The receptionist staff were very pleasant came out and played with my puppy and made us feel welcomed. However that last two visits were horrible very distasteful and resulted in us looking for another vet. The receptionist that attended us the last (2) times was very unprofessional, had a horrible attitude, treated my dog as if he was a killer. She spoke to me and my daughter with an attitude, did not even have the professionalism to hand us the paperwork but threw it on the counter. If you think that was bad, the doctor came in and stated the following " you know your dog can be an ASS so I'm going to have to take him in another room away from you. I was speechless. To have what I thought was a professional refer to my dog in that manner was totally uncalled for. I consider my dog part of my family and I will not subject my dog or myself to below standard customer service. My recommendation to Nickel City Animal Hospital, Have yearly customer service training for your staff FIRE Dr. Leyden who called my dog an ASS, and as for the older receptionist lady you should be fired as well.

We love Nickel City! We started taking our cat, Elliott, when they first opened. Elliott is not the easiest cat in unfamiliar places at all, but they always make light of it and are so patient with him! We recently welcomed a new kitty into our home, Liv, and the vets and vet techs have been absolutely amazing in making sure that Elliott has been ok with Liv. Both cats were recently sick and the attention they gave the situation was superb. They called us so many times to check up on the cats...how wonderful is that? Reasonable rates, clean facility, and fantastic staff!

We followed Dr. Allen here from another animal hospital and have been absolutely thrilled with the facility and the level of service at Nickel City. The parking is convenient (a short walk even when schlepping two cats in crates) and every space in the building is clean and well-designed. Most of all, we love the staff--from the front office, to the techs, to the doctors. Whatever we've needed--whether it was a last-minute appointment or a quick question answered over the phone, the staff has been incredibly helpful and always quick to respond. In times of health, they keep us informed about our pets' needs. In times of emergency, we've seen them spring to action. And when our last cat had to be put to sleep, their compassionate care and words were truly meaningful.I really can't recommend them highly enough. Five stars doesn't do them justice.

My Fiance' Gina Contessa and I took our Puggle Sorella To see Dr. Sarah Poltis which we just followed her from City Creature Animal Hospital. Dr. Poltis is professional, easy to speak with, educational and most impotantly has a true love for what she does and that shows in how she treated Sorella and us. She took almost two hours with us to treat Sorella and educate us through the process, never leaving a step out, answering with great knowledge and confidence every question we had. Our dog needs follow up care and Dr. Poltis is going to be out of the country and she even set up an appointment for us to come in and just meet with Dr. Alissa Pletscher so that we can get aqainted with her before we have to bring Sorella back. This was above and beyond making us feel comfortable at her new practice. Her staff is wonderful as well. I would like to make a special comment about her Office Manager, Jeffrey Matthews. He is welcoming, warm, pleasent and always had a smile on his face. Thank you to both Dr. Poltis and Jeffrey Matthews for making us feel at home.

I felt compelled to write this review after my visit to Nickel City Animal Hospital yesterday. Over the last 15 years of owning dogs I have gone to at least 7 different vets in the area; I could never find “the right one”. Due to the line of work I am in, I have gotten to know the staff at Nickel City over the years. They have always been kind, knowledgeable and honest. As time when on I became more comfortable with the staff there. Now that I own a dog that had issues with people, specifically being handled by people, I needed to find a vet committed to taking the time to deal with her, and deal with me. Nickel City was the place. I first worked with Dr. Alsford. She made each experience with Lila calm and simple. We would talk about any issues in great detail; go over treatments, and procedures if needed. Although, Lila never enjoy being handled, Dr. Alsford took great care in a calm, quick and thorough approach. She always went above and beyond for us; further researching, making things easier for Lila, and taking the time to talk over any new developments. Yesterday, I met with Dr. Lyden for an assessment/quote for a dental procedure. Yet again, another vet from the same facility blew me away! She took her time, never rushed and listened to what my concerns were. Dr. Lyden gave me her honest opinion on what needed to be done and why. If you are looking for an all-encompassing facility, from the receptionists to the veterinarians, this is the place to go.

So glad I picked this clinic when we moved to Buffalo! Seriously, you should go here too. Dr. Sacks and her vet tech Amanda have been amazing. I absolutely love that they provide affordable but effective treatment options and clearly want what's best for our pets' health and our pocketbooks too. We had been to other vets that just ran lots and lots of expensive tests without ever successfully treating the issue. Without any expensive tests, Dr. Sacks identified the issue and a very easy treatment route.

My Sassy was a patient one time and I was establishing her here, I became very I'll in 2/2017 and recently Sassy became VERY sick. They refused to see here till I could pay. I asked about the emergency pet fund and was told nothing about it. Mind you, I have not worked in months due to my illness. I asked actually begged for help online, in website rescues pages that I belong to and everyone said they same thing, "why can't they help you with the emergency pet fund"? I take Sassy to Roswell with me and she is my world. This vet refused to work with me and actually didn't even talk to me. I found a wonderful vet who is seeing her and working with me. These people utilize there pet fund for whom they feel is worthy. Do not go there. I was told by several people, now I know why.

I'm so happy to have found this animal hospital. I went for my first visit yesterday with one of my pugs, Sonny. The visit was just a routine visit and vaccine update. The vet tech was able to answer all my questions. Then before administering anything she printed out a quote of what the visit would cost! That was great! While we were there you could really see how much everyone loved dogs. They were so sweet to Sonny and treated him like their own. The vet was also incredible. I was blown away by the staff here!!

There usually isn't a long wait even if you make an emergency appointment and are open on Saturdays. I love this place. :)

Dog Owners Beware!!!!!! I recently purchased a German Shepard Puppy and decided to go to a hospital that was within walking distance to my house. I would say that my experience on the first couple of visits were fine. The receptionist staff were very pleasant came out and played with my puppy and made us feel welcomed. However that last two visits were horrible very distasteful and resulted in us looking for another vet. The receptionist that attended us the last (2) times was very unprofessional, had a horrible attitude, treated my dog as if he was a killer. She spoke to me and my daughter with an attitude, did not even have the professionalism to hand us the paperwork but threw it on the counter. If you think that was bad, the doctor came in and stated the following " you know your dog can be an ASS so I'm going to have to take him in another room away from you. I was speechless. To have what I thought was a professional refer to my dog in that manner was totally uncalled for. I consider my dog part of my family and I will not subject my dog or myself to below standard customer service. My recommendation to Nickel City Animal Hospital, Have yearly customer service training for your staff FIRE Dr. Leyden who called my dog an ASS, and as for the older receptionist lady you should be fired as well.

We love Nickel City! We started taking our cat, Elliott, when they first opened. Elliott is not the easiest cat in unfamiliar places at all, but they always make light of it and are so patient with him! We recently welcomed a new kitty into our home, Liv, and the vets and vet techs have been absolutely amazing in making sure that Elliott has been ok with Liv. Both cats were recently sick and the attention they gave the situation was superb. They called us so many times to check up on the cats...how wonderful is that? Reasonable rates, clean facility, and fantastic staff!

We followed Dr. Allen here from another animal hospital and have been absolutely thrilled with the facility and the level of service at Nickel City. The parking is convenient (a short walk even when schlepping two cats in crates) and every space in the building is clean and well-designed. Most of all, we love the staff--from the front office, to the techs, to the doctors. Whatever we've needed--whether it was a last-minute appointment or a quick question answered over the phone, the staff has been incredibly helpful and always quick to respond. In times of health, they keep us informed about our pets' needs. In times of emergency, we've seen them spring to action. And when our last cat had to be put to sleep, their compassionate care and words were truly meaningful.I really can't recommend them highly enough. Five stars doesn't do them justice.

My Fiance' Gina Contessa and I took our Puggle Sorella To see Dr. Sarah Poltis which we just followed her from City Creature Animal Hospital. Dr. Poltis is professional, easy to speak with, educational and most impotantly has a true love for what she does and that shows in how she treated Sorella and us. She took almost two hours with us to treat Sorella and educate us through the process, never leaving a step out, answering with great knowledge and confidence every question we had. Our dog needs follow up care and Dr. Poltis is going to be out of the country and she even set up an appointment for us to come in and just meet with Dr. Alissa Pletscher so that we can get aqainted with her before we have to bring Sorella back. This was above and beyond making us feel comfortable at her new practice. Her staff is wonderful as well. I would like to make a special comment about her Office Manager, Jeffrey Matthews. He is welcoming, warm, pleasent and always had a smile on his face. Thank you to both Dr. Poltis and Jeffrey Matthews for making us feel at home.
