If this review was based solely on Dr. Hall and her technicians, they would undoubtedly recieve 5 stars. However my recent brief experience with the office manager, Holly, requires I deduct at least 2 stars from this review. She was incredibly short with me while I dropped off a sample for my pet. She attempted to correct me multiple times, gave me unwarranted attitude and essentially shooed me out the door. I am thankful we are not regular clients and I do not have to deal with this treatment on a regular basis! We cannot express enough how much we appreciate the vets, vet techs and staff. It is so comforting to know they can provide targeted expertise onsite, with Dr. Van Ee (surgical procedures) and Dr. Hall (internal medicice) on staff, so we can stay at the same place for any and all needs. I first took my Chow Chow Bálor here about a month ago because he needed TPLO surgery and Dr. Van Ee is the man you go to in Western New York for that (TLPO is similar to an ACL surgery). From the second Bálor and myself walked through the door here, the entire staff was nothing but helpful, informative, and perfect. The surgery itself went extremely well, which took a huge weight off my chest. Bálor has been recovering for about 4 weeks now and came back yesterday to get his stitches removed. This is the type of veterinary office you go to and they actually care, i highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a new vet and especially if you're dog needs a TPLO operation. Read Less

The staff at Sheridan Animal Hospital have always been very nice and professional with me. I have been going through a lot with my baby girl Gracie for over 10 months with a leg issue. Dr Van E tried everything to save her leg but yesterday he had to amputate it. I was not taking it as well as my dog probably will but Dr Van E was patient and kind with me!! His assistant Luanne is the best and her coming around the desk to give me a hug when I had to leave my Grace there for the surgery gave me comfort in knowing I was leaving my baby in good hands!! I have been taking my pets to Sheridan for 37 years! No one loves their pets more than I. I have had many vets there, since Dr. Geasling started the practice. 10 of my 11 dogs and cats have been treated. I have always been satisfied with their care and expertise as well as the courtesy and efficiency of the office staff. Some of my pets had long lives, and some shorter. That is the way with pets but I trusted my vet. I always felt they received the best care. No pract...itioner treats a patient whether animal or human without reviewing the records of that patient! That is just standard medical procedure! When Dr. Geasling retired I felt confident that he left his practice with a great team and director in place and I still feel that way. Although I have moved three times since beginning with them, have long been retired from teaching in Kenmore when it was convenient to use this facility, and still have to travel quite a distance to get there, I will never change. If I am ever forced to change vets, I would hope that the next vet demands my pets' records so they can be fully informed and treat my darlings to the best of their ability. I can’t say enough how great full I am to Dr.Vanee and his staff. Minnie is my poodle who was a rescue. She is 8yrs old and was so severely neglected that she was scheduled to be euthanized. Open Arms saved her. She had one leg she could not use. We later found it was due to a pin that was way to long. Dr. Vanee was mortified and did her surgery. Thanks to him and his staff, within 4 weeks she was playing with toys for the first time in YEARS. She began using her leg when she walked slowly. This weekend she ran on all four legs. These guys got game! My 1st experience was several years ago now. 3 other vets misdiagnosed my inlaws dog, but Sherridan got it right.I began bring all of my pets here 3 cats, 2;now 3 dogs.Our one dog Louie has nearly all his teeth pulled.His surgery at Sherridan was the only time he came home and wasn't completely out of it afterward. His recover time was quicker, and he was in pain like he was the other times (I know it sounds strange by you can tell when they're not right!!).I just had our latest addition spay there. They have been attentive to all of our concerns and questions given she's out 1st toy breed, a late spay, and a rescue in a new home with other pets.This is a top shelf outfit! Read Less

I have yet to have actual surgery, but my initial experience was wonderful . Both Dr. Van Ee and the staff were patient, professional and provided ample education and opportunity to ask questions about what is a routine surgery for them, but new to me. Just went to the Sheridan Vet for the first time. Without my permission, they called to request my pet's records from Ct. This was after the girl at the desk gave me their fax number to have them faxed there, then took it upon herself to call to get the records. I went to check them out, so will not be going back there, it was totally unacceptable. If they would not give shots without records tell me and don't make an appointment. Very bad service too, had to wait forever. Do not go here if you want to maintain your pet's health with your permission, not them taking over. Read Less

Decent animal hospital - staff cares about the pets well being.  Cleanliness is to be expected.  I give them a diminished rating because the visits are always so slow.  The office staff tends to spend a lot of time figuring out what they are doing and waiting for one another.  When your in the room waiting for a dr - this is where the wait goes beyond.  I have spent over an hour in a room waiting to be seen for a routine visit.  Love the location - just hope they get better with their logistics. You guys didn't listen to us and my German shepherd hanz died. I hope down the road you listen to the pet parents so it doesn't happen to anyone else. His name was hanz and he was only 6. Thank you for nothing! I forgot to mention when my wife tried to talk to dr van eye, I am probably spelling it wrong. He was condescending and rude. Didn't seem to care and only worried about the legality of it. Thank you for creating a hole in our lives. The entire staff at Sheridan is wonderful. Our cat has a very complicated case of diabetes. Dr. Hall and Allison have spent hours discussing his history with us to determine the best treatment options. The receptionists are always friendly, no matter how many times I call with questions. I've been bringing my dogs here for 45 years but not any more. I called to get my 11 year old yellow lab in because he was favoring his right front paw. The earliest he could be seen was 13 days later which I couldn't believe. We have 2 other dogs who go to a different vet. I called them and was able to get an appointment the next day. So much for caring people at Sheridan Animal Hospital. Would not recommend. Read Less

Adopted a 6 week old puppy in July '14 as my first dog. Within a couple days, she had a cough and some of her hair was getting patchy. I came in immediately and got lucky that they found an opening for us later in the day. Dr. Puleo and all of the nurses/staff were incredibly friendly, explained everything from vaccinations to medications that my puppy needed. Turns out we were frequent flyers for the next six months... Every time we came in, most of the staff recognized us and were very pleasant and fawned all over my pup. I only go and see Dr.Bliss. She is caring, patient and professional. So I HIGHLY recommend her. The staff has always been more then pleasant. I find their pricing pretty very even kilter along the board of the animal hospitals around Tonawanda. Though I will say the price of my puppy's spay was much less expensive then the other two places I looked at. I had a 100 dollar off voucher for another vet for my puppy's spay and they quoted me about $200 dollars more then the high end of what Sheridan had quoted me. I've gone here on a number of occasions for various pets and have never had any problems with the vets. They are a bit more expensive than other places, but my pets have received good care there. However, when I tried to get an OTC supplement from them, the receptionist stonewalled me because my mostly feral cat refuses to be put into a carrier to come see them. The list time I tried this with this cat I ended up going to MASH after he bit me and my hand became infected. No sympathy from the reception Nazi , so I'll go get my supplement elsewhere. Read Less

I have been taking my pup here for a couple of years and have not been disappointed in the care they show her.  I can say my negativity only lies in the prices they charge here. However, we all know we will pay for the people (or animals) we love and I do.  She requires occasionally one more visit than her yearly due to chronic ear issues and they are always able to squeeze me in and gives her meds that make her return back to her non-itchy self in no-time.  I can't say Sophie enjoys walking in the doors here but the way they treat her makes mom happy!  If you need a vet in the area and can afford a bit higher than normal prices I highly recommend the girls here!
