This place is awful and I don't recommend anyone to bring their pets here. I brought my dog in to get spayed and she died on the operating table. She was a healthy English bulldog, she would've been 2 next month. She never had any health problems prior to this appointment. They did the pre op blood work and everything was fine. They told me "we will take good care of her," that was the last thing they said to me before I left and I never got to see my dog again. I am beyond devastated. Read Less

My cat was dying. We moved from the Catskill area and Drumm is associated with the hospital over there. They had the records but didn't meet me until the end of my girl's kidney disease. I brought her in to put her down and I was devastated. The people at Drumm were so kind to me and my girl and supported me through those last few moments and let me stay with her as long as I wanted. They were gentle and loving to her and showed great care and compassion through the ordeal. A few weeks later a beautiful sympathy card arrived from them. This has been my vet for almost 20 years.  They've seen me through broken bones, ear infections, Lyme disease and worst of all, losing my beloved boys to cancer. I think we've been through about 8 different vets in our time there.  All but 1 has been top notch. Thankfully the one that wasn't has moved on. Currently we see Dr. Deliere. he always takes plenty of time to explain things to us, always makes us feel like our dogs are important. Read Less

Everyone is very accommodating, they treat your pets like their own. We had an emergency over a weekend one time that required immediate surgery at a local emergency clinic, Drumm followed up and continually checked in on our little guy. Anyone who complains about not being able to purchase a single dose of flea and tick meds for their dog obviously never asked "why?". A Vet will never give flea and tick meds IF your pet isn't current on their HEARTWORM TEST!! It could KILL YOUR PET to give them flea&tick meds if they are heartworm positive. Lets face it....if that happened....then you would say your vet was negligent for giving you meds without a test first. Thats why a vet will not sell you single doses without a heartworm test. We almost lost our 2 year old cat to a uti at another veterinary hospital. We brought him to Drumm. After 5 days he was home. On special food and feeling much better. The Vet Technicals at Drumm saved our cat. We have since transferred both are cats there and will not be going anywhere else. Oh and BTW Tanners hospital stay was 1/2 the cost of the other vet. Our cats vaccines and all other procedures are significantly less then the other vet as well Read Less

I've been at Capital Vets, specifically Latham, for over 10 years, with cats, dogs, rabbits, and occasional resucues. I board my diabetic kitty when away and she gets amazing care from Meredith and the crew. Very happy with this crew! Read Less

Have to say, very disappointed. Have been going here for over 10 years, called today to see if I could get a single dose of Advantix for each of my dogs (both different weights) since I am having financial difficulties, and they asked if they had seen my dogs in the past year (they hadn't), then told me they couldn't sell it to me bc they haven't seen the dogs. Disappointing to me that money from an office visit and whatever other fees can be charged is more important than my dogs health. Finding a new vet stat.Read Less

I am now raising my 7th cat and would not consider going to any other veterinary location. The office staff is considerate, the techs are efficient and the doctors are compassionate and knowledgeable. There are four locations so if you need veterinary assistance there's probably an office near you. Read Less

I've been taking my pets to Dr. Drumm (first Latham Animal and then Drumm Veterinary) for over twenty-five years.  All my dogs and cats have received excellent professional, compassionate care.  The doctors are not just there to prescribe and treat; they work hard to keep animals in a healthy state by taking the time to discuss exercise, feeding, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they can always find a way to work my pets into their schedule.  I'm never left in the waiting room for long, but once my pets and I are in an exam room, I also never feel as if I'm being rushed out.  I can tell how much all the people who work for Dr. Drumm love animals.  I adopted my current dog through Dr. Drumm's rescue group "Pets without People".
