When I brought her in, there was virtually no wait time, the woman who greeted us & brought us to a room was very pleasant and compassionate with the dog. On our first trip, we got a wonderful tote bag full of goodies, which, I felt was a nice added touch. We have been back several times now and each time the staff is friendly, professional and caring, their prices are extremely competitive and they offer veterinary services, as well as boarding and grooming. I love this small practice. Everyone remembers my cat by name. I used to go to Banfield where the doctors are always different and it has a rushed feel. They are different here. I needed prompt service for one of my fur babies. They were able to fit us in on the same day. We did not even have to wait in a crowded waiting room. They were kind, compassionate, curtious, and attentive. My fur baby received a very good hands-on examination from the vet, whom had great bed-side manner. They managed my pet's health care needs. When it came time to get a vet for my two new fur baby puppies, I was again impressed by how well this animal hospital is managed. My puppies had their first check-ups and shots and were lovingly handled the entire time. Health concerns were brought to my attention so that they could be addressed or monitored. I don't have children so my dogs are my fur babies. It is crucial to me that they are in good hands. The cost of the visits was reasonably priced. I was even given a puppy swag bag, with some goodies in it for a new dog owner. The entire staff was patient, kind, curtious and attentive to my pets needs as well as my needs as a pet owner. They have a saying that I appreciated. It said "we treat our patients like family, and their pets as our own". It is a great way to say it, and what I would hope for. Friendly, caring staff, great vets, we have been taking our pets there for over 14 years for care and occasional boarding. When we had a cat in renal failure, they were so supportive and called to check up on her as she recovered. When she finally lost her battle with kidney disease a couple years later, I was so touched at how compassionately the entire staff helped us through it all. Riley was a 6 month old feral who needed love and attention. Once I was able to gain her trust, I brought her to see Dr. Skeffington and Brianna. The welcoming staff at the desk are so friendly and represent this hospital well as the first smiling faces you come in contact with here. Both the doctor and vet tech Brianna were so good at keeping her calm during her exam. The doctor explained everything well and treated us both with compassion. Riley has been back here twice for her checkups and is very comfortable with Dr. Skeffington. We won't go anywhere else! We initially started going here as a second opinion on one of dogs that needed a surgical procedure. The staff were so compassionate and confident that we asked if we could have both of our dogs come there. The first time our little ones met Dr Knott they were extremely comfortable with her. Every time we have had an issue or needed advice they always help. Dr Knott actually called us after hours one time. If you are looking for a veterinarian you have come to the best place. We recently adopted a couple of cats and one of them wasn't behaving right, noticed some drooling and also noticed he had a hard time eating.  This was about 5:30pm on a Friday. Wife found this this Vet(we've driven by it many times) and they were willing to wait for us to arrive, which was right at 6pm.  Both the Vet(Dr. Curtin) and staff for friendly, knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the situation.  We expected an exorbitantly high bill but was pleasantly surprised and it was very reasonable given the circumstances.  We will be using this Vet for future visits and highly recommend it to anyone needing a Vet.  A lot of great reviews for this Vet Clinic. 5 stars isn't enough for Dr. Skeff!  Dr. Skeffington has been our veterinarian now for over 10 years and has seen us through both regular medical care and emergencies including help with a highly needy Maltese who had a myriad of health issues that were greatly lessened because of her expertise and attention to detail.  She was able to put my mind at ease when my terrier had a weird allergic reaction and calmly offered suggestions that immediately made my dog more comfortable.  She is not only a PHENOMENALLY knowledgeable doctor, able to answer any question (even poorly described ailments), provide diagnostics with expertise and ease, but is a generally amazing human and constantly amazes me with her patience and amazing level of service.  I always leave my conversations with her knowing she did everything in her power to treat my dog(s) and that everything she did is in their best interest.  She treats every pet with as much care and kindness as if they were her own.  Her professionalism and levelheadedness are unmatched, and for the rest of her tenure as a doctor of veterinarian medicine I will never look for another.  Thank you for your dedication, knowledge and endless patience, our family, both two legs and four adore you Dr. Skeffington!! I very rarely leave reviews, but I have to say how much I truly love and trust this practice. I adopted my first cat this year, and a second one a few months later. In those few months, with two rescue cats, several questions and concerns have come up for me! Everyone at this office always takes the time to thoroughly explain things to me, from what my cats should be eating, to how likely they are to transmit diseases to one another. They're also incredibly sweet and caring about my kitties, always call to follow up after seeing them, and NEVER try to push anything that the cats don't need. It was time for Snowball to cross over the rainbow. From my phone call to make his appointment to the time we walked out their door without him the staff had showed us nothing but kindness. This is such a difficult time and they all showed tremendous compassion and understanding. The procedure was done at our pace with much care. I have brought my middle-aged cat to the Animal Care Hospital four times for basic check ups. My cat is generally nervous around strangers and, of course, wasn't thrilled about a car ride. I was impressed that the staff (I'm sorry, I have a bad memory for names) was able to calm her so quickly. They petted her, spoke to her, and did the entire exam and vaccination updates without the cat even seeming to be aware of it. The best and most impressive thing, though, was they clipped all ten claws without even a token struggle. Well worth the few extra dollars. The wait time, if any, is very short. If you have a nervous pet, you are put in a room immediately. The prices seem very reasonable to me although I haven't really done a comparison. The staff is friendly and efficient, and like most good veterinarian clinics, tend to remember the pets' names instead of the owners' :) I have no hesitation in recommending this clinic. Read Less

Dr.Skeffington done a great job on my cat Riley. He went in with this huge tumor on his back foot. She took it off,but I knew it was cancer. Her and the staff there took care of my baby so good. I was taking care of him at home because I knew he did not have a lot of time. When it was time for Riley to cross the rainbow bridge the Dr. and her staff were there to help me. I have been a client of the Clifton Park Animal Care hospital for about 10 years. Over those years I have had 2 cats and 3 dogs that have all been treated by the veterinarians at this hospital and when needed helped me with their passing. The service my pets and I have received is/was impeccable. The doctors are compassionate, patient and non-judgmental. The staff is always courteous, friendly, and professional. I now have 2 dogs (mini pins) that I rescued. I have 2 dogs because I was told that they could not be separated. The opposite turned out to be more the case and fighting between the 2 dogs became a nightmare that was uncontrollable. The doctors and staff at the Clifton Park Animal Care Hospital are always there for me and my dogs no matter when the fights occur. There were times I called at 6 pm just as they were winding down their day. No worry, they told me to come in right then. This happened more than once. I cannot think of where I would be without them. They also have a boarding service that I take advantage of when traveling. My dogs love it. They are calm when I pick them up at the end of their stay. They get a report card of how well they did during the stay and both of them love the staff that deals with them in the boarding section. Recently this animal hospital has put in an emergency system where you can call in for help at any time of day or night. The call goes to an on-call veterinarian who then deals with the situation. As a pet owner it's always a little nerve-racking to bring your furr baby into a new clinic. The staff here made me and my cat Tapi feel more than welcome. Clean and comfortable. Very clean and welcoming environment. The kennel tech and Administrative assistant were very friendly upon me walking in which is very important to me. Dr. Knott and her Vet Tech were very affectionate towards my 94lbs stinky bear dog. Dr. Knott was very thorough, and spent time with us answering all the questions I asked. Everyone was beyond caring.   I brought my cat for the first time and she was diagnosed with a mass.  There was a follow up call the next day checking on us and with additional suggestions.  Ultimately, they put her to sleep, but they gave us time to prepare and give her extra love at the end.  I can't say enough how much I appreciated all they did.  I highly recommend them! This place is absouletely horrible the way the treat the animals and there customers.  They show no compassion or care about the customers feelings for there sick animals. The entire office staff is so caring and professional. We tragically lost our dog to a hit and run several months ago and they could not have been more kind or caring. We recently had to put another dog to sleep and they were equally compassionate. We have never not had animals and have been to many, many vet hospitals over the years and I have to say that Animal Care Hospital is the best. We started coming here several years ago as a matter of convenience but tay because of the excellent care both the animals and humans get.
