Banfield Pet Hospital

Clifton Park, New York
General Info
Banfield Pet Hospital in Clifton Park provides caring and informed healthcare services for pets in the area. The services they offer include Dental Care, Microchipping, and Vaccinations. The team understands the special role pets play in families and strives to promote health and wellness, manage chronic medical conditions, and handle urgent medical issues. The residents of Clifton Park rely on Banfield Pet Hospital for joint health and breed-specific programs with timely rechecks based on their lifestyle and New York’s weather conditions. The assessment starts by asking questions about the dog’s daily activities, such as whether it can climb to higher places or where it likes to rest, its ability to jump or if it experiences fatigue, and its social behavior. The head-to-tail methodology evaluates several parameters such as body weight, orthopaedic balance, joint flexibility, coat condition, breathing patterns, dental health and sensory response. Factors like breed-specific vulnerabilities (hip dysplasia, spinal issues, allergies, overheating) are also considered based on pet history and physical indicators. Banfield Pet Hospital offers a variety of services, such as vaccine programs, lab work, lameness evaluations, and nutritional counseling. It also provides dental examinations and pain assessments. Due to the seasonal need to recheck timings based on breed-specific risks, i.e., “Winter stiffness” in large dogs and pollen-based spring flare-ups with exercise intolerance in heat-sensitive breeds. Planning might incorporate several age adjustments and recommendations for conditioning through activities. Each family is given the report to track home adjustments, traction tips, harness types, temperature awareness and weight targets. Return strategies will evolve as the athlete begins to meet set recovery milestones while pain management and weather pattern monitoring for pets that have arthritis and/or are aging. Banfield Pet Hospital offers Clifton Park and other New York area pet owners real-time health management tools that are breed and timing sensitive. They focus on preventive care, early detection, and timely treatment. Clients value the transparency, educational assistance, and tailored suggestions offered by the company. Whether it is a complex diagnosis or senior pet care, they remain involved in every patient’s management. More and more pet owners are learning about the company’s unique approach to pet care, and its reputation is growing.

Three different vets from this location consistently ignored our concerns about our dogs ears. (German Shepard, big ears.) He continued to itch them more and more. Once they admitted there was something wrong they thought that it was bacteria and gave him meds for that, which didn't help. Eventually while traveling we took him to another Banfield and they said it was a yeast infection. Within a week of getting prescribed the correct meds our dog is happier and not scratching his ear. Previously my dog had been limping for no apparent reason. They had to call in a vet from Latham to look at him (same company) and she knew immediately what it was and prescribed meds which helped with the pain. I think that this Banfield in particular is bad, not the whole company. Read Less

Find somewhere else to bring your dog. Extremely incompetent employees!!! Poorly kept records. We brought our yellow lab (at 6 mos old) to Banfield because we wanted him neutered. At the same time we planned on also getting him micro chipped. The neuter was done and we noticed they didn't charge us to chip him. When we inquired about it we were told they forgot to do the chip. We let it go, not really thinking much of it. Fast forward a year and half later. We bring our lab to get chipped at a different place because he had recently gotten out of the house without our knowledge. He's very friendly and we don't want him stolen. This  other place chips Charlie. When they go to scan their chip another chip number comes up. They try again. Same incorrect  number comes up. Once more and the new chip they just put in comes up. We are informed our lab was already chipped! Now he has two micro chips in him!!! I called Banfield and explained what happen. The young twit on the other end of the phone says; "I don't know what you want us to do about it. We can't remove the chip."  No shit Sherlock! I wanted to go through the phone! Now we have two chips that need to be registered every year because we don't know which one will come up when scanned. We plan on calling Banfield Corporate on Monday and they better have some answers. Before all the BS and back peddling occurs we can tell you Home Again knows where the chips come from. They know Banfield registered one. We were told by Banfield they never chipped my dog!! Really??? Read Less

Never have I met such a miserable and rude staff before. The manager acted as she hated her job and was beyond rude before I even walked up to the desk. She then made a scene and was genuinely angry because my little dog had an accident during her exam. I was explaining to her that I warned the other staff members she does that when she's nervous and that I had it put into her profile as well and she rolled her eyes and walked away when I was mid sentence. I don't know why this woman was so angry at me, but if she hates animals she's in the wrong business. I have the monthly plan and will be canceling it when it's up because of the terrible service and unprofessional staff. Do not recommend to anyone! Read Less

I usually go to the office in Latham because is the closest to me. Yesterday I called to have the doctor write an Acclimation certificate/letter/statement and the lady over the phone told me nobody would sign that because no Doctor would be held liable if anything happens to the dog while flying. I have done this before, so I explained the lady that I have gotten the letter from that same office in the past and she suggested I should call another Vet.I called the Banfield office in Clifton Park to see what the answer would be and to my surprise had the pleasure to speak with Diane and she was nothing but lovely. She knew exactly what I was asking for and told me she could book the appointment for the following day. She even called back  a couple of times to make sure we had all information need it for the letter. What a difference from one office to another. This office is 20 minutes from my house vs 5 minutes to Latham, but I will be happy to drive 20 minutes to receive this treatment.Very happy customer! Read Less

I have two of my cats on their wellness plans. I save a TON of money by doing this. My sister is about to join her sphynx cat up as well. This way, everytime you hvae to go to the vet, you dont pay a fee for an office visit or anything, you strictly pay for the medication IF you animal even needs them. All shots are included, as well as a spay or neuter. Only costs me 20 bucks a month for one cat and 15 for the other! GREAT DEAL. The doctors also know their stuff and are extremely helpful with small pets, reptiles and cats and dogs. I really truly recommend Banfield...they know what they are doing. Read Less

Always an amazing staff. They are very caring and Efficient. They make sure to take care of my pets even when it turns out they aren't as sick I as I thought. I send everyone I know to this location.

We love the vet her for our dog. She takes the time to answer our questions and check him out thoroughly. The wellness plan is worth it if you start it when your pet is young.

I recently had to bring in my german shepherd puppy because she got injured. We usually go to Latham however we were unable to be seen and the Banfield Clifton Park, staff was courteous, professional and they were able to see my pup straight away! I've been there several times and everyone has been very professional. The Vet as well as the staff and everyone that I have ever dealt with has been nice and now it's the Banfield that I go to. I'm in Albany and altho it's a bit out of the way, I'll keep going because of the service I've received! Read Less

The staff were great and one even got down on the floor with my pup and made a fuss about her.

Read Less
