This is the best group of Vet and Techs we have ever seen. Dr. White is the absolute sweetest and smartest vet I have ever encountered. It is very obvious he adores his job and adores animals. The compassion and love he shows our 3 pups every time we come in is unreal. Paul, one of the techs, is also alwyas a huge part of our experience, as he naturally calms our girls on the table and while they are getting blood taken or shots. He is so great. Trusting our pups with anyone is hard, but we know they are in the best hands and gentle hands they should be in in a time of sickness. Dr. White is just about the best Vet I have ever dealt with. I was lucky enough to become one of his clients. Most of the year he doesn't take on more clients which I respect  since he can't be everything to everyone. I especially appreciate that he doesn't try to sell you vaccinations that you prefer not to have unless he recommends them. So many Vets seem to use scare tactics on clients to sell shots for every possible illness and I just can't believe they are all needed nor do I believe they are in the best interest  of your pets future health. This office has, hands down, the best veterinary doctor I've ever dealt with. Dr. White is fantastic, has the best "bedside manner," and has taken the greatest care of my pets over the years. A few years ago, my cat started to look jaundiced and acted differently. It was a Friday evening (of course!) and so we brought her to the emergency vet clinic in the area, whose doctor told us that "we could spend hundreds of dollars finding out what caused her liver to fail," and "we can come back in the morning to put her down." Needless to say, we were devastated. We almost brought her in, but I hesitated and decided to call Dr. White's office on Monday to get a second opinion. They told me to just come in, no appointment needed, and they'd check her out. Dr. White gave me hope, saying that he thought it was something more simple, and sent me home with antibiotics and an order to start force-feeding my kitty. In a few days, we found out that she had eaten a twist-tie, and that had caused her liver failure! If we hadn't gone to Dr. White, she wouldn't be with us today. In short, we're eternally grateful for the care Dr. White has given us. He literally saved our cat's life, but for the more "day to day" non-life-saving care, he's fantastic with his patients and even better with the owners. We wouldn't trade him for the world! I have been going to Dr. White for well over 20 years. I will NEVER bring my pets to another Vet unless John retires. Dr. White not only loves and cares deeply for all his patients, but for their owners as well. Just like my kids, my pets are my life. I trust John's judgement COMPLETELY when it comes to their care. Needed to have my dog seen while working over here in New York. I called Halfmoon and they got me right in the next day. The staff was friendly and helpful, Dr. White and his vet tech were excellent handling my dog. I do a lot of research on my pets health before I go in and I very much like a Vet that will talk ""with me"" and not ""to me"" Dr White fits the bill. I highly recommend this vet practice. I have been a client at Halfmoon Veterinary Hospital for over 15years. Doc White and his staff are always compassionate, helpful and make you feel like part of their family. They are very accomodating to your schedule and the needs of your animals. This year we went for our yearly visit and both of my dogs tested positive for lime disease (in fact so did my parents and brothers dogs), they took the time to explain to me what the care entails and what to look for moving forward. ***If you haven't had your pet tested... make an appointment today*** a quick blood test and some pills will help to keep your pet healthy for a long time. If you are looking for a vet don't look any further... they are who you want to give your pet the best care possible. Dr. John White has taken care of my cats for more years than I think he or I could remember, and for 12 + years since he opened his current practice at Northway Exit 8A. Dr. John understood my bond with my 17 year old cat Jasper; he loved that old cat's courage as much as I did and did everything he could to keep him alive and comfortable as long as it was humane to do so. But when it was time to let Jasper go, Dr. John pulled no punches - he was straight with me. He has been the same with all of my cats since. I love the way he embraces them; he truly loves the little ones he cares for. And I love the compassion he extends to their owners; he is not afraid to hug or weep. He gives love to his patients and validates their owners' feelings. There should be more vets like Dr. John in this world. Read Less

Dr White has been my vet. He cares about my dog Sasha who has had a lot of health issues throughout her life. I moved to FL 3 years ago. Sasha is now 13 and has begun to slip down that road of ""every day is a blessing"". Dr White has answered my calls from FL and assisted me with her care. I am trying to move back to NY where Sasha and I belong. I hope Sasha hangs in there long enough to spend her final moments with Dr White, to ease a very difficult time for me.
