I cannot say enough good things about Corfu Vet Clinic. We took all our animals there growing up and now I take my pets there too. The staff is attentive and knowledgable. The vets are highly trained and have always been so sympathetic when it has come time for one of pets to cross the rainbow bridge. They keep their cost SUPER reasonable and its not uncommon for the vets to just get down on the floor with the dog or cats to make them more comfortable. We just moved to the area, and hadn't yet found a vet. I called their office because we thought our dog had an eye infection. The receptionist was so nice, and got us in within an hour of my call. This is a great place to take my dogs. I have 2 yellow labs, and after taking them to a few different vets, this one far exceeds any of them. They are definitely a hike out there for me, but very much worth it. Not only is the care they give thier animals top notch, but thier prices beat anyone I've compared them with. I have been taking my dog and cats here for several years now. But yesterday I took a new kitten in to be neutered and get his shots. In the past I have been in and our for like $80 for a neuter no problem. When i arrived in the morning, i was taken into a room for a normal checkup. A technician came in, took him to be weighed in the back and came back, went over what the neuter consists of, i denied any extra testing this visit due to price (money being tight at the holidays) left and came back showing me a bill of $154. A little high i thought, a neuter, a couple shots? After seeing everything on the bill listed with price, I agreed anyways, it had to be done. A few minutes later the Dr came in, did some routine ear checks and combed for fleas. He told me he had some ear mites, and he had fleas come off the comb. He told me he would give him a pill and a topical that will take care of those, he didnt give me a price, but I agreed, he clearly needed it. I left. In the afternoon i received a phone call from a nurse that my kitten had a small wound on his neck, from itching, and it was infected, and for $23 they could give him an antibiotic shot. I agreed, again. I came back after 4pm for pick up, they took me straight into a room. A different technician came in told me everything went well with no issues, and showed me a copy of the new bill (with flea stuff and the antibiotic) $200.10 Perfect. I only brought $200 thinking that was the max of what it could possibly be. She made me look over the bill and asked if i had any questons. I went out to the receptionist and was told to pay, and they will bring my cat out. I waited several minutes while a new girl had to keep asking the other questions about how to do it, and finally she says "its going to be $224.10" What? She told me he received vaccines and they never put them on the bill. I told her the bill i seen two minutes ago in the exam room for pick up (the $200 one) the FIRST LINE was check up visit with vaccines....... $42. She didnt acknowledge i said anything. After finding a credit card to cover the extra $24 i didnt have, i paid the bill and left.(my new bill as my receipt now had the first line said just check up visit was $42, and the last two were each $12 vaccines) I will never bring my cat back, and I will look into a new vet for my dog as well. I have never felt so ripped off in my life.Read Less

I just can't say enough about about Dr. Jim and his amazing, beautiful wife Lori! I was first told about Corfu-Darien by the late and great Dave Horn, Lancaster dog warden, in early 2000. I called and got an appointment and haven't left since!! I've had soooo many dogs and cats, 4 of each at just one time, and between Dr Jim and Dr Mark, once he came aboard, my animals have NEVER had such better veterinarian care! Once, my black lab was attacked by the neighbors pitbull bc the poor pit was NOT nor NEVER trained to be anything but a fighter, my poor lab had some really bad injuries, and had to have emergency surgery, I took him in first thing in the morning, I believe it was Dr Mark whom did the surgery, and Niko was cleared to go home later that day, everyone in the facility was amazing with me as I called all day checking on my baby, never once got upset or bothered I called so often and each time gave me an update! What vet does that??? Dr Jim has taught me things I still use today to care for my new dogs since the others have passed. Never once have I over paid! Never once have I left there feeling like I did not understand what was wrong with one of my animals AND there were times Jim or Mark would see 3 of my cats and 3 of my dogs at once in 1 visit and not kill my bill! Please tell me what vet does that!! The staff is just as amazing! I've made friends there as well as some special ones for life that I speak with almost daily!! I just can't thank Dave Horn enough for giving me Corfu's number way back then!! I'm eternally grateful to him for life! As I am for the Dr's at Corfu!! Can't say enough! My little dog was having a problem and I called our existing vet and they didn't even ask what was wrong. Just said they could see her at 3:20 the next day or we could take her to emergency vet in Cheektowaga. We bring our hound to Corfu/Darien and I called and asked a favor to see us that night and they immediately asked what was going on and said come as soon as you can, we'll see her. I first went to Corfu Darien Vet seeking a second opinion about a $900.00 surgery my previous vet was insisting my Great Dane needed, that was almost 20 years ago and I never left. My dog not only did NOT need that surgery but also exceeded the life expendency for her breed and lived to almost 12. The staff here is great and prices reasonable and you are treated as if seeing you and your pet was the best part of their day. Very friendly, knowledge staff. I really can't say enough about this place.  I have only been there twice (last Monday and Tuesday), but I was so impressed that I would recommend them to anyone within a hundred miles of Corfu.  Incredibly kind and professional staff, from the receptionist to the doctors.  My mother in law asked me to take her and her dog in on Monday; the dog had had trouble standing, and she thought that a cortisone shot might help.  We phoned at 10 when they opened and got an appointment for 11:30.  When we got there, the dog could not step down from the car.  Two staff members came out and helped me get him in.  People came out from behind the desk and greeted the dog and my mother in law by name.  When we got to the exam room and met with the doctor, he looked at the dog's gums and other physical symptoms and realized that the dog was bleeding internally and did not have much time left.  The way he broke the news to my mother in law was so incredibly kind, yet straightforward.  No false hope...and he got teary when my mother-in-law started to cry.  She wanted to take him home, and we did.  The dog hardly made it through the night, and we took him back the next day.  To say that we were treated like family doesn't really begin to cover it.  The dog was fussed over (as was my mother-in-law) and every detail was covered with such professionalism and grace.  They made an impossibly emotional situation so much easier to bear because of the way they handled things.My mom passed away many years ago, and she was under Hospice care, and I honestly think that the staff at Corfu/Darien Veterinary Clinic did a MUCH better job helping a family through the letting-go and grief process than Hospice did.  I'm not knocking Hospice, I'm just trying to convey how wonderful the people at this office are.  It's clear that this is much more than a job to each of them. After taking Foxy in to a local ""high tech"" medical hospital that cost a small fortune and results of nothing wrong, we searched for someone that we trusted. Fearing the worst for our 13 year Dachsund, we took her in on a recommendation. Dr. Mark was wonderful. The results of the test confirmed the worst for our sweetie. Dr. Mark was considerate of the financial burdens treatment could cost and was honest about the lack of success. He listened carefully to her story and treated our frail little one with extreme gentleness. We had a vet like Dr. Mark in our home town in FL and are glad to have found this service. WE BROUGHT OUR LITTLE KITTEN TO THIS LOCATION TO HAVE HER SPAYED THROUGH THE SPCA. I HAD READ ALL THE GOOD REVIEWS SO I WAS FEELING REALLY GOOD EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE SUPER FAR AWAY FROM WHERE WE LIVE. I TRIED TO CALL THE DAY OF HER SURGERY TO SEE HOW IT WENT AND JUST GOT A VERY GENERIC RESPONSE AND THEY WOULDNT GIVE ME ANY DETAILS ON HER, EVEN THOUGH I WAS AUDIBLY WORRIED. THE WORST WAS WHEN WE PICKED HER UP AND WERE INFORMED THAT SHE HAD BEEN GIVEN A RABIES SHOT. EVEN THOUGH THE SPCA PROVIDES THIS SERVICE THROUGH THE VET AS WELL, SHOULDNT WE HAVE BEEN ASKED IF SHE ALREADY HAD ANY VACCINES??? WE HAD JUST HAD HER RABIES SHOT TWO DAYS BEFORE!!!! I WAS LIVID, BUT WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD NOT AFFECT HER. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM TO ME! WHY WOULD WE NOT HAVE BEEN ASKED IF SHE WAS UP TO DATE ON VACCINES?? IT MAKES ME WONDER IF ANY OTHER OWNERS ARE ASKED THE SAME QUESTION? ARE THERE CATS THAT GO THROUGH THAT PLACE THAT HAVE FELINE LEUKEMIA? WHAT ABOUT RABIES? OR DID THEY JUST NOT TREAT US THE SAME BECAUSE WE WERE WITH THE SPCA'S PATIENTS?? THEN, THE ICING ON THE CAKE- WE GOT HER HOME ONLY TO FIND THAT SHE HAD CONTRACTED AN UPPER RESPIRATORY INFECTION. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? AGAIN, WERE WE TREATED DIFFERENTLY THAN THEIR OTHER PATIENTS, OR DO OTHER CATS GET ILL FROM VISITING? WAS SHE PLACED WITH ANOTHER CAT WHO WAS SICK? All the Vets here are great!!!! Cost is affordable. Care is the best! I have 7 cats and a Alaskan Malamute I take here so I'm there ALOT for normal care plus illness and teeth cleanings etc. I can't say enouh about everyone there. The staff is careing and friendly.
