The entire staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Mineo is wonderful and always takes the time to explain the diagnosis and treatment plans. We didn't take our dog there for his cataract surgery but I wish we did. I am confident to say we would have had a better outcome. This place has very friendly people. We had to wait a bit on our first visit which was earlier in the day. The last two visits were after 5 pm and we did not have to wait that long. They are very thorough and helpful with answering all our questions and concerns with our 2 dogs. Read Less

Don't bother going here unless you want to be charged exorbitant prices for ocular care that may or may not be effective. Found the  veterinarians to be rude and condescending. Definitely not animal centered or empathetic to the constraints of a normal human budget. Trust me, we go above and beyond for our pets- but this diligence wasn't enough for the providers here. Alarmists and totally cold. Full disclosure, I brought our dog here while I was in college/graduate school and trying to do the best for her. This situation was relayed to the Veterinarian, not to request discount services, but to aim for more frugal testing to allow financial coverage for expensive eye drops and revisits. This was met with a discussion basically insinuating that I wasn't a good dog owner and didn't deserve the dog! Pretty sure, taking my dog for multiple 300$+ visits and procuring 80$+ monthly eye medication qualifies me as a GREAT pet owner (as a college student!) Ps. Our pooch is still doing great- almost a decade after our callous interactions (yes, multiple!) with this place. Read Less

Rexel Brown and my boxer went yesterday. He had an ulcerated cornea and Dr Stanz treated it and hopefully we are on the road ro recovery. She was wonderful explaining everything and we go back next Friday for follow up. Everyone is very nice who works there. I rexommend this eye care facility for your dog! Read Less

We were referred to Animal Eye Care from our Vet in Kane PA for removal of a mass on his eyelid. They did such a wonderful job and were so caring and compassionate. I felt so comfortable leaving him there for the procedure as I knew he was in the best hands. Read Less

Our dog Bruce, Bruce Lee as the staff called him, had surgery 48 hours ago and he is doing fantastic. Dr Stanz and the rest of the staff were awesome. Bruce looks at us now with those wide Pug eyes, something we have not seen in months. Would highly recommend any animal with eye issues to visit Dr Stanz. Read Less

They got us in the same day, and were able to preform a procedure to help my dogs eye. Amazing bedside manner, compassionate and kind. We were told by our vet that Tinkerbell would go blind if we did not get her immediate help and recommended Dr Stantz. They made an appointment for the next day to see us. After taking care of the infection to clear up, Tink had surgery on both eyes (lids) 10 days later. Everyone on staff was kind and caring and understood my distress and did not make me feel silly for being so upset. Three weeks later her eyes are clear for the first time since I rescued her two years ago. The get well card and toy were so appreciated. Our dog Brandy had cataracts in both eyes at a very young age. Our vet in Batavia suggested we take her to see Dr. Stanz at Animal Eye Care of WNY. Dr. Stanz did the surgery to save Brandy's sight. Dr's Stanz & Mineo, and the rest of the staff are top notch. We first met when my Keeshond Leo went blind from diabetes. I will forever be grateful to Dr. Stanz for helping return his vision and zest for life. They even sent a care package after surgery, including a toy (Nero thanks you all for that as he was the one to enjoy it). I had my boy back again! Now Leo has passed on, but our lab/pit bull mix Nero is cared for expertly at the office. They were the first to diagnose him with high blood pressure and while he has lost all sight, I am thankful that he has taken it better than Leo did. Read Less

Dr. Stanz checked our pug Harry's eyes on our vet's recommendation. She confirmed that he has Pigmentary Keratitis and the beginning of cataracts. She will see him in 6 months for reevaluation. She eased our worries and was so easy to talk to. We are continuing his treatment with Tacrolimus eye drops at this time. Read Less

We met with Dr. Stanz about eight years ago after going to our own Vets office for a cloudy eye. Brandy was still too young for "old dog eyes." That eye had a cataract and one starting in other eye. Dr. Stanz did surgery shortly thereafter. We are not such how good her eye sight is eight years later, she barks at grass blowing in her pen. Brandy says."Thanks Dr. Stanz for saving my eyes!" A little over 13 years ago I brought a little rescue kitten in to Dr. Stanz who had been shot with birdshot and had to have an eye removed, he is now a big beautiful healthy happy boy who is much loved by everyone who meets him, he was adopted by my best friend so I see him often. I have brought countless rescue animals in over the years and my own dog who had cataract surgery on both eyes 6-7 years ago and is also doing wonderfully, we have always been treated like family and with respect no matter if it was a rescue or our own animals. I have nothing but admiration for Dr. Stanz and Dr. Mineo and my Cocker loves them and their treats too! Thank you so much for all you have done for us over the years!Read Less

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I brought my little dog Buddy in for cataract surgery over the summer, but unfortunately he never had the chance to enjoy his new eyesbecause he was too busy dying! Something happened to his little brain during the surgery and he was never the same again. For two heart-crushing weeks I watched him wither away to nothing. When he was awake, he would hallucinate, struggle to breathe, and walk into things. His little heart would beat so fast, he had trouble standing, and couldnt swallow completely. He wouldnt eat or drink on his own. It got to the point where I had to wake him up every half hour to feed him tiny amounts of liquid food with an oral syringe just so he wouldnt spit it up. But every time he woke up on his own, he would regurgitate and foam at the mouthpacing around the apartment unhappy, uncoordinated, and uncomfortable. We hospitalized him for several days, but his breathing was horribly labored; his tiny throat kept closing up on him. He had three seizures while hospitalized. The last one was so bad that he needed to be resuscitated. The hospital told us he was unresponsive and would have less than a 10% chance of surviving the next one. We were forced to make that dreaded decision to end his pain. In the end, no one wanted to take responsibility for what happened to my little Buddy. However, I am convinced that if I didnt bring him in that day, he would still be alive today. Perhaps the saddest thought of all is that Buddys fate was sealed the day I carried him into that office for his cataract surgery. Poor defenseless little guy! His daddy carried him into that office and there was nothing he could do about itno choiceno opt out. This Christmas will be a sad one indeed because the idea for Buddys surgery came from my family who graciously offered to pay for it in lieu of celebrating Christmas this year. Our only gift would be having our little Buddy backthe way he was before the cataracts prevented him from seeing the people who loved him. Buddys Cataract surgery was very expensive and his hospitalization was even more costly. This Christmas, my family will be $10,000 in-the-hole and without our Buddy. I cant help but think that, if the same happened to a human child, there would be hell to paya huge lawsuit and possibly criminal charges. Read Less

There are two doctors at this location that specialize in eye problems of your pet. They are both young women who have decided to take on a specialty that most ordinary vets have little knowledge. There staff are all extremely good with your pet and every time I go there I feel like I'm visiting friends. They really are the best I've seen.The care your pet will receive with these doctor's and the entire staff is better then I've seen at any other vets. The special knowledge they all have in dealing with eye issues makes you feel comfortable and when you feel comfortable your pet can sense that and they become more relaxed as well.Overall the waiting room, examination rooms, entry and restrooms are clean - spacious, and well thought out. The decor gives you plenty to look at and they have additional reading material as well. However, like a well organized and managed business - you won't be needing to read or look around too much, because unlike most doctor's offices - they know how to book and if you arrive at your scheduled time - you can expect to be seen at that time - maybe a few minutes early or late, but nothing worth worrying about - unless of course you are late!My GSD has two eye issues - both require eye drops for the rest of her life - thanks manly because my previous vet didn't listen to what we were saying and didn't look at what we were talking about and my dog developed permanent eye problems. With the help of these doctors - my dog's eye issues are under control though. Living a bit of a distance away - the medications my dog must have are quickly shipped to us with one simple phone call - we never have run out and they can process the orders quickly - another sign of their professionalism. The drawbacks that would normally prevent me from handing out a 5 star would be that the price will shock you a bit. They are typically a bit higher priced then your normal vet, but then again - what specialist doesn't charge you more? They also only have one location and have yet to branch out - though I do understand they are providing the very best care possible and sometimes branching out means sacrificing something along the way. So - with these two drawback and the justification that comes with them - I'm still handing out a 5 star on this - as I have never seen a better, more well organized and caring group of professionals in this line of work!On another side note - the place might be a bit hard to find as it sits off Transit. Your GPS will tell you that you've arrived - you will look around and think - no I haven't, but look again. Coming from the other direction you "might" see the sign, but coming from the west you will not! Read Less
