We starting taking our kitty, Trio, here about a year or so ago.  We've had nothing but positive experiences. The staff and vet techs are friendly and accommodating. The doctor is outstanding and he always gives our kitty a thorough physical and explains everything that is going on with her and makes it relatable to us.  We feel confident with their services and the special attention they give to our kitty. I've been a client for 23 years. My first Dobie girl was cared for by Dr. Z and lost her fight to cancer just six months after I moved to Buffalo. The compassion, understanding, knowledge, courtesy, concern............you get it, I could go on forever. All of these characteristics are found among all of the staff at Suburban South. Six dogs later and I feel even more strongly about this vet practice. My opinion is respected and even more important than that - my pets are treated as though they belong to the doctors and staff. I had an emergency and I took my cat here. She had never been there before but they were able to see her right away and help her with her problem. everybody was friendly and experienced. they explained everything to me in a way i could understand and took care of my cat. there's a separate cat entrance and dog entrance, which is nice. Words cannot express my gratitude to Doctor Herr and staff @ Suburban South Veterinary .Today was one of the most difficult I have had to encounter. My 13 yr old Beagle Snoopy was un able to fight any longer...he was a brave little guy .A rescue that came to my ex husband and I at 1yr old. He stayed with his Dad until he took his last breathe. Today Snoopy also took his last breathe. This happened in the comfort of his own home, with his blankets and toy....The compassion that Dr Herr showed was truly a gift....Thank you for making his journey one of comfort and respect. Love this place. Both doctors, all the vet techs, & the rest of the staff do an amazing job...this is an incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, friendly, & trustworthy veterinary practice!! Wouldn't bring my fur babies anywhere else; in fact, we drive almost an hour (there's about 7 other places we COULD go that would be much closer) just to come here! I brought my new rescue kitten in. The kitten was still very skittish. The staff were awesome with my kitten. He warmed up to them right away. They were very thorough but gentle as well. They also offered a very nice new pet package deal for the first year or so of care. 550.00 includes the first three vet visits the spay or nueter all the shots and the chipping. I can't say enough about both Dr. Z and Dr Herr as well as all of their staff. Not only are they caring and compassionate to patient and parent, they take the time to get to know you and your pet. They know my babies, my mothers babies, etc. Plus pricing is very resonable, you do not walk in there ever feeling like you are just dollar signs, you and your fur babies are part of the family. I can't say enough about Dr. Herr, Dr. Zoyhofski and all of the techs at Suburban South - Julie, Lindsay and Steph. Over the years they have cared for five cats and a dog belonging to my family, as well as my current two kittens. The facility is clean, bright and welcoming. Dr. H and Dr. Z always take the time to thoroughly explain the care being provided - whether it's a routine physical, diagnostic testing or treatment of an acute illness or injury. They don't just say "Here's what we're doing," they explain WHY. They take the time to listen, understand and respond to all of my concerns as a pet parent. When I first got my kittens they both had respiratory infections (coming from a shelter environment, this is not uncommon). Dr. Z sent us home with antibiotics and carefully showed me how to administer the medicine to my babies - quickly and without struggle. They truly care about their feline and canine patients (and their parents!) and that shows in their "bedside manners." They are always accessible by phone or email for quick, non-urgent questions too. Together, we've figured out some necessary adjustments to my kittens' diets just bouncing messages back and forth. I notice a tremendous difference in their health with just those few simple changes. I trust the vets and their staff at Suburban South implicitly. I have brought my fur children here for over 20 years. The staff here is caring, friendly, and truly love what they do. My 12 year old cat became very ill and stopped eating. They were wonderful with her care, trying to find out what's wrong, working with me on care and helping me with the best but painful decision to let her go. This hospital is great, very clean with a friendly staff that always has familiar faces with little turnover. They have newer equiptment and seem up to date on current protocols. Took my kitten there and everyone was very nice. The vet ended up doing things for my kitten that another vet over looked. Gave me a lot of information on what she was tested for and has even giving me pamphlets on everything. The staff was very friendly and personable making me feel comfortable after being the 2nd place I had gone to trying to find a place I liked. The staff always has a answer when I ask it and are not hard to get a hold of. Highly recommended!Read Less
