Farmington Veterinary Hospital is great. The receptionists are always very friendly and helpful. Whenever I call with a question they make sure to get the answer even if they have to call me back. They're great with scheduling and finding a time that works best for my schedule. You can tell they, along with the doctors, really care about your pets and their well being. When they can they give you multiple treatment options at different price points and help you decide what's best for your pet and your budget. I highly recommend bringing your pets here.

Called on a Wednesday morning after a bad experience with another local Veterinary clinic. Very kind folks answered the phone and managed to work us in for an appointment that day. They did a great job with our soon to be 12 year old Basset Hound and she was up and running in just a few days. Reasonably priced. They are now our regular Vet and we recommend them highly.

Words cannot express my disappointment in the treatment here, particularly from Dr. Christine Boshart - Adamson - both professionally and on a human-level. I took my cat here was who very sick, and they significantly mis-diagnosed him. After tests and him staying the night, they failed to identify that his entire body was ridden with cancer. It was only after we took him to Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Services 4 days later that we learned he had days/weeks left to live. On top of this, the doctor scolded me for not taking him into the vet earlier. What I wasn't told was that, cats tend to not show symptoms until it is severe and sometimes too late - thankfully VSES told me, rather than lay blame and make me feel responsible for his demise. I will never go back to Farmington Vet and would strongly encourage others not to. What a horrible thing to go through in the first place - let alone be blamed and talked down to by supposed-professionals with no empathy whatsoever.

Farmington Veterinary Hospital is fantastic! Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. They have done wonders with my little dog Roadie. I know he'll never be totally cured or return back to normal but they certainly have made this journey so much easier to bear. I have always had pets but I have never felt as confident and comfortable with a veterinary clinic as I do with this place. Dr. Chris Boshart really takes the time to explain things to you and seems to really care about helping your pet live the best life possible.

So our pups have been patients of Farmington vet since we got them as puppies. We compete with our dogs in Agility and our dogs are truly our world, so vet care is of the utmost importance to us and I will tell you, we have had nothing but extraordinary treatment to our animals. Our primary vet, is Dr Chris and our blue boy, Loudon, is absolutely in love with her. Dr. Chris is amazing with all of my pups and is so caring and loving with them and really treats them as if they were hers. We have seen other vets at Farmington as well and they have all been great with our dogs. Every tech, receptionist and doctor has been amazing and it makes us smile cause they always seem to remember the Power Pups and make us feel important. Thank you from Bristol, Loudon, Joliet, Rock, Darryl and I, we think you are simply the best.

Farmington Veterinary Hospital is more expensive than other vets, adds extra fees to the vet bill. I had asked how much to expect from our dogs check-up bill, they quoted me at $45 dollars, so I was prepared to pay $50, the bill ended up around $100 and when I asked if they would just send me a bill for the rest of it, the receptionist became very hostile and rude. She said "ehh we don't bill. We run the same as a grocery store, do you go to the grocery store and expect to only have to pay for half of your groceries??". I responded that they quoted me a certain price, and I was prepared to pay a certain price. We didn't ask for any extras so I didn't expect any extras. A month later we were preparing for a trip to the United Kingdom with our dog, and we decided to take our dog to Animal Hospital of Rochester. The difference in treatment was immediately noticeable. When they say your bill will be a certain price, it will be that price. They take the time to see your vet, and you see the same vet every time, unlike at Farmington(you never know who you're going to see). We had been told by Farmington that our pugs foul breath was due to age, and to get her dental sticks to freshen her breath. It wasn't until we went to Animal Hospital of Rochester that they actually looked into her mouth and saw periodontal disease! We had just seen the vet at Farmington less than a month before and they gave her a clean bill of health. Seriously, don't waste your money or your pets health on these people, they are money hungry half-wits who are only interested in getting a profit. When you take your pets to the vet, you expect to pay a trained professional to examine your dogs overall health. What you get at Farmington is a different hurried vet every time, who sneak in costs and don't even look at your dogs teeth!

Since I have been going, over 20 years, I have had the best experiences with my animals. I had to have 2 euthanized, and it broke my heart. In March one of my bassets was hit by a car in front of my home. I called, brought her in, and they were waiting in the lobby for me with a stretcher. Unfortunately, my dog was not alive when I got there. They were compassionate, let me cry, and hugged me. They even sent me a card for my loss. The Dr.'s and all of the staff are so kind. They listen to my concerns. I would never go anywhere, or trust anyone else with my animals.

Could not ask for a better vet. We have seen several of the vets, Dr. Chris Boshart (Dr Chris) being our favorite! Always been treated with respect. Office is very friendly and welcoming. From the time we took our guinea pigs....to our current cats (x4) (of which 2 cats are special needs) and our puppy, they have always taken us right in for any problem visits; have evening and Saturday hours to accomodate our working hours. Have recommended them to several friends. We are lucky to have such special people to treat our animals.

It's tough to drop a bad review, but it's very necessary. Although the veternarians who work there seem to be excellent, the price is astronomical. We decided to switch to another vet after rescuing a 2yo female dog and being quoted a cost of $357 for a spaying, excluding any other miscallaneous charges that would have surely pushed the bill into the $500 range. I called around, as was suggested by so many other people, and learned the average cost of an adult spaying to be more around $170. I just can't afford to be paying double for every visit. To be honest, I have neglected regular visits for our cats because the cost is so high... Why I waited so long, I don't know. Also, to note about emergency vet availability, there is none. We had to drive all the way to Henrietta just to have our beloved dog put down last summer after being hit by a truck. And then, the Farmington Vet had the nerve to ask how he was doing when we brought our rescue in for a physical and spaying estimate... The final warning, if you will, is to beware of asking for estimates, you are typically scowled at and made to feel like an irresponsible animal lover for wanting to spend your hard earned money wisely.

Our dog has long been a patient of this veterinary hospital. When only routine maintenence is needed, most anyplace that is convenient is okay. When a real and serious emergency occurs, a test is quickly made. This medical business failed miserably. The off-hour telephone message promised help that did not happen. The Vets don't arrive until 1.5 hours after the office opens. The receptionist behind the desk practiced and learned well avoidence of customer eye contact We have changed Vets. There are much better places to spend lots of money. We feel our dog is better served too.

My cat is 20 years old and I kind of inherited him when my son's friend was serving in Iran - that was over 8 years ago now. I have been going to this vet for over 2 years now that he is older and they have been extremely wonderful. I even had one evening out of the blue that I had to call and they immediately took us in. They have been wonderful and very careful with him since he is having issues with age and his backside. He is comfortable and living a wonderful life at his age. I thank them for all their care and advice.

It use to be a warm and caring place.Since they've gotten bigger,not only has the appearance of the place changed but everything else.The front office people are uncaring about the times that are convenient for us.Now they are only concerned with whats available for them.Before,we use to say we could come in on such a day or time and we could get in.And they are not nice about it.We have mostly seen Anne Fessler.She use to be a great doctor,caring and compassionate.The last couple of times we saw her,she was cold and unsympathic.Was more concerned about money and acted like we were wasting her time when we tried to get her to further explain our dog's condition.We truly believe they have gotten to big for their britches there and have forgotten why she opened the practice.We have found a new practice now which actually seems to care.

We started working with the Farmington Veterinary Hospital 8 months ago. I found them caring and polite. Today I had to put one of our dogs down and called them ahead of time to tell them I just wanted to drop off a check, be with our dog and then leave without talking to anyone. When I walked in with my dog they immediately took me (sitting around would have been very hard) and I found them caring and compassionate through the whole process... for my dog and myself. I have owned dogs all my life and have used several different vets in different cities. Their pricing was fair and during the short time of being there I have always received the impression that all the staff cares. My heart goes out to anyone that has to go through the difficulty of losing an animal and I know emotions can fly. It's a very difficult time and this staff made the whole process bearable. Thank you for showing my dog and myself understanding and dignity.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Baskin and the staff at Farmington Veterinary Hospital. Unfortunately, a large tumor was found in my dog over the weekend and after getting a grim outlook for my dog's future, I decided to put her down. Dr. Baskin and the staff took such good care of my dog and was very compassionate in explaining what the prognosis was for her. He explained everything very carefully and answered all my questions about different options. Knowing how well they took care of my dog in the last few hours of her life, eased the pain for me a bit. I definitely recommend anyone that has a pet take them to Farmington Vet. Hospital. Not only will you find a friendly staff but their prices are very reasonable.

I've been with Farmington Vet as long as I can remember. 12 years or more. They are just not the same. I remember how sweet and nice the office staff was, how nice and caring Dr. Fessler was. Now, I have no idea which doc. or tech I'm getting. The office staff is rude (except for one). It's like they've gotten too big and just care about money. I had researched a vet closer to me and checked out their prices. They had me sign a release to look at my dogs records. I never made an appt. with them and I was unsure if I would even switch. My two dogs got into a fight one evening and one was injured. I called Farmington Vet to see if I could bring my dog in. They looked up my info. and very snippy said, Um, it says here we sent info your to a different vet last week. I said yes, I'm considering changing. She then said, well then we are not going to see your dog. I said, What? I have an emergency here, my dog needs to be seen. She came back to the phone and stated that she talked with the doctor and then informed me, you can bring her in if you continue to come here in the future. I said, whatever yeah. Then when I got the tech that saw me didn't even make eye contact with me. I explained to her that my husband and I had been discussing puttting down my 12 year dog because she has been urinating all over the home and has become agressive (hence the dog fight and injury). I asked if now would be the time to really consider it. She then treated me like a bad pet owner and said, that is a completly different issue and appointment. I'll have to get you to sign a bill agreement, then left the room. The receptionist brought in my bill agreement. On my way out I asked whom I talked to on the phone and the woman said, me. I stated that I was very disappointed with the earlier conversation regarding, not treating my animal because I was considering choosing a vet closer to my home. I stated, I've been a customer here for 12 years and this is how I'm treated? She then said, Does the other vet have evening hours like us, in a snippy voice again. (because it was 8 o'clock). I couldn't believe it. This is not an isolated incident. I'm done with this place.

We just moved to the area and needed a vet. They were close and the building looked nice - so we went for it. Not scientific, but we couldn't be happier. The doctor we sawy - Dr Benedetti - was fatastic. Tooke her time, was thorough, and totally fixed up our pup. We went back with our cat and asked for her specifically. The helpers were good too. One noc onthem is that we had to wait both time more than 45 minutes.

They're great with scheduling and finding a time that works best for my schedule. You can tell they, along with the doctors, really care about your pets and their well being. Words cannot express my disappointment in the treatment here, particularly from Dr. Christine Boshart - Adamson - both professionally and on a human-level. I took my cat here was who very sick, and they significantly mis-diagnosed him. After tests and him staying the night, they failed to identify that his entire body was ridden with cancer. It was only after we took him to Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Services 4 days later that we learned he had days/weeks left to live. On top of this, the doctor scolded me for not taking him into the vet earlier. What I wasn't told was that, cats tend to not show symptoms until it is severe and sometimes too late - thankfully VSES told me, rather than lay blame and make me feel responsible for his demise. I will never go back to Farmington Vet and would strongly encourage others not to. What a horrible thing to go through in the first place - let alone be blamed and talked down to by supposed-professionals with no empathy whatsoever.

I know he'll never be totally cured or return back to normal but they certainly have made this journey so much easier to bear. I have always had pets but I have never felt as confident and comfortable with a veterinary clinic as I do with this place. So our pups have been patients of Farmington vet since we got them as puppies. We compete with our dogs in Agility and our dogs are truly our world, so vet care is of the utmost importance to us and I will tell you, we have had nothing but extraordinary treatment to our animals. Our primary vet, is Dr Chris and our blue boy, Loudon, is absolutely in love with her. Dr. Chris is amazing with all of my pups and is so caring and loving with them and really treats them as if they were hers. We have seen other vets at Farmington as well and they have all been great with our dogs. Every tech, receptionist and doctor has been amazing and it makes us smile cause they always seem to remember the Power Pups and make us feel important. Farmington Veterinary Hospital is more expensive than other vets, adds extra fees to the vet bill. I had asked how much to expect from our dogs check-up bill, they quoted me at $45 dollars, so I was prepared to pay $50, the bill ended up around $100 and when I asked if they would just send me a bill for the rest of it, the receptionist became very hostile and rude. She said "ehh we don't bill. We run the same as a grocery store, do you go to the grocery store and expect to only have to pay for half of your groceries??". I responded that they quoted me a certain price, and I was prepared to pay a certain price. We didn't ask for any extras so I didn't expect any extras. A month later we were preparing for a trip to the United Kingdom with our dog, and we decided to take our dog to Animal Hospital of Rochester. The difference in treatment was immediately noticeable. When they say your bill will be a certain price, it will be that price. They take the time to see your vet, and you see the same vet every time, unlike at Farmington(you never know who you're going to see). We had been told by Farmington that our pugs foul breath was due to age, and to get her dental sticks to freshen her breath. It wasn't until we went to Animal Hospital of Rochester that they actually looked into her mouth and saw periodontal disease! We had just seen the vet at Farmington less than a month before and they gave her a clean bill of health. Seriously, don't waste your money or your pets health on these people, they are money hungry half-wits who are only interested in getting a profit. When you take your pets to the vet, you expect to pay a trained professional to examine your dogs overall health. What you get at Farmington is a different hurried vet every time, who sneak in costs and don't even look at your dogs teeth!

Since I have been going, over 20 years, I have had the best experiences with my animals. I had to have 2 euthanized, and it broke my heart. In March one of my bassets was hit by a car in front of my home. I called, brought her in, and they were waiting in the lobby for me with a stretcher. Unfortunately, my dog was not alive when I got there. They were compassionate, let me cry, and hugged me. They even sent me a card for my loss. The Dr.'s and all of the staff are so kind. They listen to my concerns. I would never go anywhere, or trust anyone else with my animals.

Could not ask for a better vet. We have seen several of the vets, Dr. Chris Boshart (Dr Chris) being our favorite! Always been treated with respect. Office is very friendly and welcoming. From the time we took our guinea pigs....to our current cats (x4) (of which 2 cats are special needs) and our puppy, they have always taken us right in for any problem visits; have evening and Saturday hours to accomodate our working hours. Have recommended them to several friends. We are lucky to have such special people to treat our animals.

It's tough to drop a bad review, but it's very necessary. Although the veternarians who work there seem to be excellent, the price is astronomical. We decided to switch to another vet after rescuing a 2yo female dog and being quoted a cost of $357 for a spaying, excluding any other miscallaneous charges that would have surely pushed the bill into the $500 range. I called around, as was suggested by so many other people, and learned the average cost of an adult spaying to be more around $170. I just can't afford to be paying double for every visit. To be honest, I have neglected regular visits for our cats because the cost is so high... Why I waited so long, I don't know. Also, to note about emergency vet availability, there is none. We had to drive all the way to Henrietta just to have our beloved dog put down last summer after being hit by a truck. And then, the Farmington Vet had the nerve to ask how he was doing when we brought our rescue in for a physical and spaying estimate... The final warning, if you will, is to beware of asking for estimates, you are typically scowled at and made to feel like an irresponsible animal lover for wanting to spend your hard earned money wisely.

When a real and serious emergency occurs, a test is quickly made. This medical business failed miserably. The off-hour telephone message promised help that did not happen. The Vets don't arrive until 1.5 hours after the office opens. The receptionist behind the desk practiced and learned well avoidence of customer eye contact We have changed Vets. There are much better places to spend lots of money. We feel our dog is better served too.

My cat is 20 years old and I kind of inherited him when my son's friend was serving in Iran - that was over 8 years ago now. I have been going to this vet for over 2 years now that he is older and they have been extremely wonderful. I even had one evening out of the blue that I had to call and they immediately took us in. They have been wonderful and very careful with him since he is having issues with age and his backside. He is comfortable and living a wonderful life at his age. It use to be a warm and caring place.Since they've gotten bigger,not only has the appearance of the place changed but everything else.The front office people are uncaring about the times that are convenient for us.Now they are only concerned with whats available for them.Before,we use to say we could come in on such a day or time and we could get in.And they are not nice about it.We have mostly seen Anne Fessler.She use to be a great doctor,caring and compassionate.The last couple of times we saw her,she was cold and unsympathic.Was more concerned about money and acted like we were wasting her time when we tried to get her to further explain our dog's condition.We truly believe they have gotten to big for their britches there and have forgotten why she opened the practice.We have found a new practice now which actually seems to care.

We started working with the Farmington Veterinary Hospital 8 months ago. I found them caring and polite. Today I had to put one of our dogs down and called them ahead of time to tell them I just wanted to drop off a check, be with our dog and then leave without talking to anyone. When I walked in with my dog they immediately took me (sitting around would have been very hard) and I found them caring and compassionate through the whole process... for my dog and myself. I have owned dogs all my life and have used several different vets in different cities. Their pricing was fair and during the short time of being there I have always received the impression that all the staff cares. My heart goes out to anyone that has to go through the difficulty of losing an animal and I know emotions can fly. It's a very difficult time and this staff made the whole process bearable. Thank you for showing my dog and myself understanding and dignity.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Baskin and the staff at Farmington Veterinary Hospital. Unfortunately, a large tumor was found in my dog over the weekend and after getting a grim outlook for my dog's future, I decided to put her down. Dr. Baskin and the staff took such good care of my dog and was very compassionate in explaining what the prognosis was for her. He explained everything very carefully and answered all my questions about different options. Knowing how well they took care of my dog in the last few hours of her life, eased the pain for me a bit. I definitely recommend anyone that has a pet take them to Farmington Vet. Hospital. Not only will you find a friendly staff but their prices are very reasonable.

I've been with Farmington Vet as long as I can remember. 12 years or more. They are just not the same. I remember how sweet and nice the office staff was, how nice and caring Dr. Fessler was. Now, I have no idea which doc. or tech I'm getting. The office staff is rude (except for one). It's like they've gotten too big and just care about money. I had researched a vet closer to me and checked out their prices. They had me sign a release to look at my dogs records. I never made an appt. with them and I was unsure if I would even switch. My two dogs got into a fight one evening and one was injured. I called Farmington Vet to see if I could bring my dog in. They looked up my info. and very snippy said, Um, it says here we sent info your to a different vet last week. I said yes, I'm considering changing. She then said, well then we are not going to see your dog. I said, What? I have an emergency here, my dog needs to be seen. She came back to the phone and stated that she talked with the doctor and then informed me, you can bring her in if you continue to come here in the future. I said, whatever yeah. Then when I got the tech that saw me didn't even make eye contact with me. I explained to her that my husband and I had been discussing puttting down my 12 year dog because she has been urinating all over the home and has become agressive (hence the dog fight and injury). I asked if now would be the time to really consider it. She then treated me like a bad pet owner and said, that is a completly different issue and appointment. I'll have to get you to sign a bill agreement, then left the room. The receptionist brought in my bill agreement. On my way out I asked whom I talked to on the phone and the woman said, me. I stated that I was very disappointed with the earlier conversation regarding, not treating my animal because I was considering choosing a vet closer to my home. I stated, I've been a customer here for 12 years and this is how I'm treated? She then said, Does the other vet have evening hours like us, in a snippy voice again. (because it was 8 o'clock). I couldn't believe it. This is not an isolated incident. I'm done with this place.

The doctor we sawy - Dr Benedetti - was fatastic. Tooke her time, was thorough, and totally fixed up our pup. We went back with our cat and asked for her specifically. The helpers were good too. One noc onthem is that we had to wait both time more than 45 minutes.
