Very kind and compassionate. We had to say goodbye to our sweet dog. She was 18 and having serious health issues. They took very good care of her. I have used Drs. Zaywe and Jacobsen literally for decades. Dr Robins is also quite good. I wouldn't trust my animals anywhere else and now drive over 30 minutes to see them. This is who you trust your family with. Read Less

this is the absolute worst place!we had been here about a total of ten times and thought they were alright. (we live locally and figured we'd give them a shot)they never seemed to be able to help our cats' or dogs' when they were sick.they prescribe meds that don't even work, their diagnoses are usually vague and unhelpful.today we attempted to bring our dog there because he swallowed protein powder (a friend dropped it and he ate about half the bag before she noticed) and all they did was hand us a "poison control" brochure.they wouldn't even see him!they are rude and pretty much ignore you when you are there.we will never go there again! Seeing the doctor and staff at Farmingville Animal Hospital was a great experience and I will continue to come back here to bring my pets. I had actually made an appointment to bring our cat that we had taken in when he was abandoned by the neighbors, so he was in pretty rough shape. Everyone was so nice and compassionate from the moment I called to make an appointment to when I walked out the door. Even all the other patients/owners that were there in the waiting room were friendly and comfortable, so I could tell immediately it was a good environment. I was able to make an appt at a late time which was very convenient with working a 9-5. I had made an appointment for 7 and was literally home before 8. Was not expecting to be seen right away, was great! When they saw my cat, they walked me through what they were going to do and were so gentle and caring for him. I was nervous he was going to not handle the appointment well since he was warming up to me and ppl in general, but they handled him so great and make me feel comfortable as well.  They walked me through a whole game plan for taking care of and getting our new friend back to good health. I even left there with a quote for everything we discussed to do in the future so I can plan accordingly and know what I'm walking into. I was nervous about how much everything would cost me as this was an unexpected cost (and new pet!), but they did not pressure me into anything or hit me with charges I was not expecting (which I feel like is a fear of vets in general.)Again, loved this place and the staff. I started coming here years ago as my good friend started with the practice. I love everyone but my favorite is Dr Robbins. She has always been available to my dogs and answers all my questions thoroughly. I travel from the Bronx now to bring my dogs and new cat in. Thanks everyone! Read Less

I have been to FAH a couple of times and have been happy, but after bringing our family dog in to see Dr Robbins I was finally compelled to write a review. I'm a current vet student at Cornell so I'm not going to lie, I am particular about my vets and maybe hypercritical. Dr Robbins was extremely thorough in her exam, I felt she was compassionate, smart, and was understating when my mom didn't bring any of our 13 year-old dog's medical records. It seems like she is really on top of her stuff and knows what she was talking about and really thinks through her treatment plan. Our vet assistant (Sean, I think) was also great. Although my personal pets go to Cornell mostly now I would not hesitate to bring them to FAH if anything comes up while I am home. I used another vet in the area and had to wait TWO HOURS for my appointments, you never have to wait more than 10 minutes here and the prices are always more than fair. They will NEVER pressure you to get something done, either. Overall, a great, well-run animal hospital! Read Less

My dog Rex was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer about a year ago. Dr Lisa Palermo was absolutely amazing along with all the staff.. Between being amazing with always being there when I needed her to any questions I had. I would call and she would immediately call me back. She always cared and understood a dog that was not so friendly and very miss understood. He felt comfortable and at ease with her. I had to make the decision last week to finally let him pass over the rainbow bridge she again was absolutely amazing and my baby boys passed so peacefully.. My pets have been patients here for over 20 years. Compassionate, Competent and conservative Veterinary care. I always feel that my pets best interests are the priority. We have seen nearly all the Vets at one time or another and have always had positive experiences. Our favorites are Dr. Jacobsen and Dr. Palermo who are the primary vets for our two terrier rescues. On Friday I had to lay my cat Shady of 15 years to rest. The Veterinarian and assisting staff were so human about everything. They didn't try to sell me unnecessary tests, as they knew it was time. They did the procedure with love and care and then gave us time with him. As horrible of an event, they made it go as gentle as possible. Having been a client there for years, I can say they are always honest and up front. They look out for the animals best interest at all times. They are VERY reasonably priced and do only what's necessary as far as tests are concerned. I will continue to take all my pets there and tell everyone that I know about how great they are. I have brought my family members here for over 15 years our Doctor is Dr. Robins and she is the most compassionate and wonderful doctor and person. When my cocker spaniel Fortune got sick and we all realized he wasn't going to ever get better she saw us probably twice a week for blood work and to give him intravenous fluids for months. Dr. Robins would sit with us, cry with me and was there to the end I can't imagine going through everything without her. The staff at Farmingville Animal Hospital are so friendly and incredibly helpful. Every time I went there my dogs were taken care of quickly and efficiently by the staff, nurses, doctors and assistants. We had my 2 beagles neutered a few years ago which required them to stay overnight...When we went to pick them up the next day, they were clean, happy and not in any pain what so ever. It is so calming to know when we are panicking about our dogs health that they are in good hands at Farmingville Animal Hospital. I will be going there forever. Read Less
