Dr. Kenneth Luckow DVM, graduated from Cornell University College of Agriculture, with a B.S in Animal Science in 1973 and from The N.Y.S. College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1978. Following graduation, Dr. Luckow spent several months at the Riverhead Animal Hospital before becoming the chief of staff at the Nassau Animal Emergency Clinic. After 5 years of all nighters and weekends he opened the Fort Salonga Animal Hospital in April of 1982. Dr. Luckow specializes in small animal medicine and surgery including exotic pets and birds and is available for housecalls. The office is open 6 days a week . For appointments call 631-261-0610.
In addition to his responsibilities in Fort Salonga, Dr. Luckow also has a seasonal housecall practice on Fire Island (May-Nov) for those of you who are residents or weekenders and choose to bring your pets to the beach. You can reach the FIRE ISLAND VET at 631-236-7528.

By far the most compassionate, direct, and sincere vet and staff. Providing the most genuine and intuitive care for your dogs. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else.

I am extremely grateful for Dr Luckow and his staff. My old man Gus was in pretty bad shape and after a few visits and many phone discussions we decided it was time for Gus to leave us. The staff & Dr were so patient and caring. The Dr even gave me his cell phone number so I could reach him with any concerns about Gus if he was not in the office. I cannot thank them enough for their patience, understanding, and gentle manner. I completely trust this team and if I ever rescue a dog in the future I will bring them here. Thank you Dr Luckow & team for trying so hard to help Gus.

The finest vet I have the pleasure of meeting since my vet retired. I have been on a search for an honest, compassionate and caring vet for years - and have finally found him - Dr. Luckow. A wonderful vet and his staff are absolutely terrific. The finest animal hospital in the entire East Northport - Huntington area. Would highly recommend Dr. Luckow.

I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Luckow since 1985 (yikes!) and just love him and his office personnel, especially Carrie. She's a doll and always has a smile for you and is truly happy to see every animal that comes into the office. Dr. Luckow is the kindest, most understanding, considerate, gentle veterinarian (and person) ever. I guess that's why he has so many clients (lol) and been in business for such a long time. I have taken my dogs (now on number 6!), cats, ferret, exotic birds, and all kinds of rodents to him for treatment of one thing or another, and he has always been wonderful with all of them. I wouldn't trade him and his office staff for anything! They are the best!!

How can you thank someone for saving your pet's life? Our dog was on his last legs, literally. We had come to put him down. The staff was compassionate with our grief, but Dr. Luckow wasn't having any...
How can you thank someone for saving your pet's life? Our dog was on his last legs, literally. We had come to put him down. The staff was compassionate with our grief, but Dr. Luckow wasn't having any of it. He gave us options we didn't know existed. Not only did we come home with the dog, but even though he's still limping, he's so much better it's like a little miracle. Our pets will be patients of his for life.Thanks guys.

I am extremely grateful for Dr Luckow and his staff. My old man Gus was in pretty bad shape and after a few visits and many phone discussions we decided it was time for Gus to leave us. The staff & Dr were so patient and caring. The Dr even gave me his cell phone number so I could reach him with any concerns about Gus if he was not in the office. I cannot thank them enough for their patience, understanding, and gentle manner. I completely trust this team and if I ever rescue a dog in the future I will bring them here. She's a doll and always has a smile for you and is truly happy to see every animal that comes into the office. Dr. Luckow is the kindest, most understanding, considerate, gentle veterinarian (and person) ever. I guess that's why he has so many clients (lol) and been in business for such a long time.
