I'm not normally a writer of reviews, but when I saw the few negative reviews on here, I felt like I had to. Dr Mellini is an absolutely wonderful vet. She is compassionate, caring and very good at what she does. Her techs and office staff are very friendly and helpful. They are extremely knowledgeable, and you can just tell that they love what they do. I have a 3 year old kitty, who has had sinus problems his whole life, and I mean, once a week I walked my house and scrapped his green snot off my walls and windows. We had tried several rounds of antibiotics, even tried a nebulizer, and nothing worked. I started going to Dr Mellini, she took the time to explain what was wrong, and why nothing had worked in the past. Put him on a different type of medicine, and have not had any problems in months! I was blown away and knew I had found my new Vet. Soon after that, I took my other cat, who I adopted from the humane society, with a bum eye, and she again, took the time to explain everything to me, she even used him as a learning tool for her tech, which I thought was pretty awesome. His eye will not get any better but sometimes would seem irritated and red. She gave us some goo to put in there, and it hasn't been irritated since! I also had taken on bottle raising 4, 2 week old kittens, whom Dr Mellini was so helpful with. She even took pictures of them, and made a flier to put up her in office, to help me find them homes. I've been using geneva veterinary hospital as the primary care for my dogs and cats for a little over a year. I've received excellent care for both my dogs and my cat. They are gentle and kind with the animals and really try to make them comfortable. The staff has on many occasions went above and beyond in their care of my pets. I really appreciate everything they do and would recommend them 10 out of 10 times. The best thing that I can say about this place is that they put the health and happiness of the animal above everything else! If your looking for a local veterinary office that is excellent and compassionate this is the vet for you. -From one animal lover to another. Read Less

I took my older shitzu to Dr millinni I thought she was dying,but she knew right away that it was vestibular ,she told me what I needed and what I needed to do. everyone there was very kind and helpful.Missy is back up and wagging her tail.thank you so much. Read Less

I have been taking my dogs here for almost two years. Until today I have been satisfied. I had an appointment this morning, and I was treated rudely by the Vet. assistant as well as the Vet. herself.  My dogs are elderly and have been prone to ear infections. The first thing out of the assistant's mouth was  "does your dog have an ear infection? I can smell it." This was after she acted like a snot because one of the dogs went#2 on the floor, which is not uncommon as their nerves get the best of them when we're at the Vet.  Throughout the visit I was talked down to as if I had no clue how to care for my dogs. I paid $ 170.00 to hear condescending remarks and receive dirty looks as if I were some criminal. Now admittedly I hadn't been cleaning their ears as much as I should but we were there for routine shots, and by the time I left I was very upset. The Vet decided to shame me for not having my dogs anal glands drained and said that's why he is walking funny. So she drains them ( cha-ching $$) and FYI he still can't walk well AS I SAID because he has arthritis. Oh and I guess I need to go to jail for some tartar on their teeth as well? Also I trimmed their nails a couple of weeks ago but apparently I didn't do a good job. After a few more direct jabs treating me like I dont know how to properly medicate or bathe my dogs according to their needs ( and believe me these dogs are well cared for ) I had reached my limit! Just when I thought it was over and I was waiting to be WAY overcharged for this assenine visit, the Vet says " oh don't you piddle on that rug " to my male dog WHO WAS WEARING A DOGGIE DIAPER. Really ???  You can overcharge someone else for your abuse. It's a miracle that with no "help" from Geneva Veterinary, that I've have had my dogs for 16 years of which they have been very healthy and happy!  The one star I gave in my rating was for the receptionist who is always nice. I'll be changing Vet's asap however. You ladies ought to be ashamed. Read Less

I called the Geneva Veterinary Hospital when Iris, my pitbull, came down with Vestibular Disease (effects balance). Iris would keep tilting and falling over. She couldn't walk or stand. I called every veterinarian from Ithaca to Geneva and no one was available or could give me advice. I was terrified. I didn't know what was going on and by the was she was acting I thought she was going to die. When I called the Geneva Veterinarian Hospital, she also was booked and couldn't see Iris, however, she told me where I could buy the medication Iris needed. She explained to me what was going on and how she should be fine after two to three days. It felt like a miracle to see poor Iris back to normal! We cannot afford a Vet visit but would find a way if needed. She did not push any medication on us or try to get me to buy anything we didn't need. She could have forced me and my suffering pet to wait for an appointment like every other veterinarian was, but she didnt. We are so relieved to be back to normal! I would gladly take Iris and refer any one to their hospital. Thank you for all of your great advice!Read Less

horrible experience!!!!! the women tried to push all her own brands of seasonal medications on me! All my dog needed was a couple of stitches! My puppy was terrified which is perfectly normal so when Dr. Mellini began examining the wound my puppy tried to wiggle away. She immediately glarred at me a said" Have you ever tried obedience training?!" Upon leaving she tried to push her products again! Dont go Here!! Read Less
