We had the displeasure of going to this Clinic when we first moved into the area. We had taken our 2 cats and dog for their annual check-ups and shots. All-in-all it was a pleasant visit, but the vet kept trying to push all these vaccinations on our cats and dog. I did some background work and knew exactly what they needed and what was optional, but the vet wouldn't explain why they needed the "extra" shots and whether or not they were critical to their health and welfare. Anyways, I was shocked at how expensive the visit was...almost $700 for all 3!!! This was the most I've ever paid (coming from NY).Throughout the past year I switched vets and went to the North Shore Animal League clinic. Service there was excellent and the price was WAY more reasonable. Also, they gave me a straight answer when I asked about yearly vaccine recommendations and health questions.Recently, on of our cats, Max, developed blood in his urine. Naturally we were very concerned, and had to go to Central Vet. because North Shore didn't have an opening for a week. My wife took Max to the clinic, and after doing the standard work-up for a Urinary Tract Infection (complete blood work, urine analysis and culture) plus his rabies vaccine, they insisted that Max be placed under overnight observation and X-rays be taken. As a physician, I didn't agree to this and we took Max back home with us. As I went home and did some research online, the steps were clearly laid out:1. Most causes of blood in the urine are from UTI's and/or stones2. Blood tests are done to rule out malignancies.3. X-rays may aid in the diagnosis of stones, but are not definitive.4. Most cases of UTIs are treated with antibiotics (which Max was given), and stones may be treated with a change in diet.So I felt comfortable in our decision to keep Max on antibiotics, change his diet, observe him closely for signs of blockage, and take him back to the Vet in a couple of weeks. However, the Vet called and spoke to me regarding the urine analysis. He said there was blood (obviously), and casts (which means there is some kind of irritation on the bladder wall) and he tried to get me to take Max in for admission, X-rays AND A CONTRAST STUDY OF THE BLADDER!! That would cost over $1,000!!! I told him no. He then had the audacity to call my wife and try to convince her! What gross mismanagement!! I truly believe this clinic's sole purpose is to prey on pet owners' fear and try to get them to spend as much money as they can on unnecessary tests and procedures. They don't provide any other services as opposed to the friendly North Shore Animal League clinic.I WILL NEVER GO TO THESE PEOPLE AGAIN. STAY AWAY!! Read Less
