I have been going to Just Cats in Guilderland for over 15 years. Dr. Sikule is the absolute best! She takes an Holistic approach to medicine and always try's to aid in your pets health and recovery using the most natural methods. Yes the are expensive but they offer the BEST care for your cats. It's worth it to me to bring my cats to an environment where they are less stressed and receive the best medical care. Whenever I call, Rhonda immediately responds to my needs! Both of my cats had ear mites and I called one morning to see if I could get them in that day.  Here is how the call went:Me- Hello, can I bring in my cats today to be treated for ear mites?JC- I don't think so, let me check.JC- What is your name so I can see who I'm dealing with?Me- gave them my nameJC- No you can't come in because I haven't seen your cats in 2 yearsMe-Why can't you see my cats today?JC- (annoyed tone) Because I haven't seen them in 2 years and it's a short week!Me- hung upApparently they won't look at my cats until an exam of both of them is done...Translation-$$$$.  This is how I was spoken to when I called about being concerned about my animals and getting them some relief.  It was a flat out NO and the tone of the woman on the other end was a bit condescending regarding my cats not being examined in 2 years.  My cats were healthy up to this point and Just Cats was not willing to alleviate their ear mites because they wanted more money before treating them both.  You don't have to be a vet to figure out that your cats have ear mites.  That's the last time I take them to that place. Kim - Cat dentist trained with one of the best on this side of the country and she really shows it in her knowledge and work. I was the person who would spend a ton extra to go to a specialized cat dentist but she has all his knowledge at a fraction of the price. My cat is 14 so I was really concerned however Just Cats does everything the specialist would have done. It is really nice to have this so close to home instead of traveling an hour away. Thanks Kim. Just Cats is great! My kitty, Fetty Wap, loves going to the vet. All the staff give him so much attention and love, it's comforting to see. As we were leaving, any employee that passed him said goodbye to him. Fetty ate it up! I just got Fetty spayed this week and I was nervous about how he would handle it all. The staff called me right when Fetty got out of surgery and the next day to check in on him. I would recommend this establishment to anyone! Read Less

I have been coming to Just Cats in Guilderland for 14 years and have found the care here exceptional. Dr. Sikule is always kind and gentle with my cats especially with Mattie who developed a tumor on her upper lip. She biopsied the tumor and with the results, she researched the type of cancer and what treatment was available. I would recommend this practice to everyone in search of a vet care for their cat. Just Cats was definitely a great experience for both me and my two cats. They needed their ears checked and vaccines updated, but I was able to make an appointment within days of calling. The staff were friendly and even called me for a follow up to make sure that they were doing better! Pay close attention to the negative reviews here and avoid this vet at all costs. They are inhumane, uncompassionate, and greedy. My cat had always had an extraordinary dislike of this vet at regular exams, but I chalked it up to being a new vet to her and ignored it. The one time my cat did have a real health problem, just cats really mistreated both my cat and myself. They insisted on keeping my cat without my supervision despite the fact that I brought them the only urine sample that needed to be analyzed. They ran completely unnecessary and expensive tests, and clipped all of my cats nails (back too) despite my explicit instruction that this not be done. My cat was drugged and angry even hours later. They had to do all this to get a (extra?) urine sample, which was all they needed to analyze to confirm a diagnosis i already basically knew?  I think not. They are a really lousy group and should go into a line of work they are more suited for. I would not take my cat here even if she was dying, I feel like they'd just accelerate the process, torture the cat along the way, and charge me a few grand for the whole indignity. Oh and by the way, one of the techs had the nerve and poor taste to make derogatory comments to me about my cat.  Very unprofessional.When I left, I saw a staffer crying in the back of the parking lot. I had the feeling that she sees all kinds of awful things go on there and is one of the few who actually still had a heart and feels bad about the way they treat cats and their owners.I will never go back here and hope no one else does either. Worst vet I have ever been to.  Don't be fooled by the "just cats" concept... They don't seem to even like cats and cats really seem to not like them either. i was not happy with how my experience went.  I arrived at 11 with my 15 1/2 year old cat who was bleeding in his mouth from a rodent ulcer.  My regular vet was closed.  it took 25 minutes to drive there and my cat pooped in his carrier.  I did my best to clean him up and asked to have something more to clean him as the paper towels weren't cutting it.  he was trying to clean himself.  The focus here is NOT on your cat - it is on the bill.  The vet emphasized cost more than anything else.  Blood work was more expensive done in house etc.  Spent more time talking about pricing of procedures than attending to my cat.  I asked why the blood pressure would cost $40 and was told "I don't set prices I just work here".   I continued to request something to get my cat cleaned up.   They sent the receptionist in with an estimate of cost....after the vet tech came in and again went over cost.  I told the vet tech I was not concerned with an estimate.  What a nightmare.  It took over an hour and a half before anyone actually did anything for my cat.  The vet tech was very good with him.  She stood out as concerned for my cat.  It was a mistake to go there.  The vet has been there since February....did not inspire any confidence. I recently moved to the area and needed to bring my incredibly skiddish cat in to get checked out. I called and they gave me advice on how to get her into her kennel safely. They gave me some Feliaway (kitty pheromones) that helped ease her anxiety. It was very kind of them! When I took my cat in for her check up, the one receptionist wasn't friendly but the other one was, thankfully. The veterinary assistant was sweet as could be! I really liked her. The vet herself was also very nice. She took the time to explain things in a way that I could understand. At the end of the visit, I did have a to wait a while for the paperwork and to get cashed out. I wasn't in a hurry though, so it didn't bother me. I recommend this clinic. I started bringing my cat to Just Cats Veterinary Clinic in Saratoga about a year ago. My cat was ill with a Thyroid problem. Dr. Sikule saw her at that time, and I was so impressed with the professional care my cat received from both Dr. Sikule and the staff at the Saratoga office. This past month, my cat became very ill and stopped eating, losing a significant amount of weight. I took her back to the clinic twice, and saw Dr Eren and Kimberly, the Veterinary Technician. They both demonstrated professional, knowledgeable and compassionate care and assisted me in making a very difficult decision. I knew in my heart that my cat was in good hands and am so grateful for the caring service that the veterinarians and the staff at Just Cats provided. Love Just Cats Veterinary Clinic. Not only do you not have to worry about other animals being there when you bring your cat in for treatment (read that dogs, really big dogs who really like cats--for lunch), the staff makes you feel right at home and they are really knowledgeable. Dr. Huntsman is really a great vet and loves animals. The thing that really sold me on her was when I brought my cat, Piglet, in for her initial examination. She is a really timid kitty and was freaked out by the examination room, so I put her inside my coat, so she would feel less intimidated. Dr. Huntsman actually examined Piglet inside my coat. Also, one time she came into the examination room, crying. She had just put a cat to sleep. She said she had really tried to help the cat and it didn't work. Anyone who cares enough to cry about putting a cat to sleep gets my mark of approval. Read Less

I like the town of Guilderland. It is a good place to raise kids who grow up to become first responders! This vet clinic is a cutesy place with it's own parking in the back. I like the owner Dr. Sikule and their new addition Dr. Hage returns your calls promptly. She has a lovely accent and I always meet nice cat people in the waiting room or see a cool cat awaiting adoption. I just recently moved here from NYC and was nervous about finding a new vet. I am impossible to please, and so are my cats. After consulting with my friends, local neighbors, and hanging out at Pet Smart. I decided to try Just Cats. Let me just begin by saying that one of my cats finds it quite stressful to have dogs barking at him while we are in the waiting room in NYC. Well, not here! At Just Cats it is a calm and inviting waiting room. The staff is remarkably friendly, and they truly took their time listening to all of my concerns. Was not in such great spirits the first time, but they were so understanding about my trepidation on my move, and on finding a new vet. Today was my second time there... My older cat has never looked better! Dr. Tommell & Dr. Sikule are extraordinary veterinarians.Their house visits are wonderful. I've been taking my two cats to Just Cats for over 7 years now, and I am very pleased with my experience there.  Most importantly, it's the only vet I know that focuses exclusively on cats.  Consequently, they definitely know their stuff... and are very adept at handling my rightfully ticked off cats (cause, seriously, who would like to be shoved into a crate, driven to some undisclosed location, and then poked and prodded... my cats probably think they're part of an annual alien abduction).  My only two issues are the cost (a bit pricey) and the wait (I often have to schedule an appointment a month out or more).  Oh, and not for nothing, but my friend's wife is a vet tech, and she recently agreed that Just Cats is a very quality option.  All in all, I definitely recommend Just Cats. Imagine being able to take your sick kitty to the vets, and not having to worry about some DOG lunging at her. Imagine being able to sit in a vet's waiting room and not have to listen to some DOG barking. Cats only!  What a treat.However... this exclusivity does not come at a discount. You can probably find lower prices elsewhere. But I'm happy enough with the whole package (good doctors, kind and friendly staff, dog-free waiting room) that it's worth it.I also like that they help keep local feral cats from reproducing by working with the non-profit SCRUFF (Spaying Capital Region Unowned Feral Felines).   If I'm not mistaken, Dr. Sikule was a founding member.They also work to get cats adopted, and you can usually meet an adoptable lovely or two lounging in the waiting room. I have been bringing my 2 cats to Just Cats ever since I moved to the area in 2001. I've never had a bad experience. They are a bit pricey...but you get what you pay for. Several years ago my older cat fell ill and was diagnosed with diabetes. With the help of Just Cats doctors and staff I nursed her along for another 3 years. They always accommodated us (sometimes on very short notice) if I had to travel and needed to board Maggie. It was her home away from home at times. She was treated with love and kindness in every stay. Last month Maggie (who was 16 years old) became very ill with kidney disease (CRF) and we treated her as best we could. When the time came to put Maggie down Drs. Dreels and Sikule and the vet. techs and other staff made it as easy as it could be to part with an old friend. Thank you Just Cats for 7 years of great service! My surviving cat will no doubt get the same high quality care that Maggie did. Kudos to all! Read Less

My experience at Just Cats was absolutely unsatisfacory and unpleasant. The office staff failed to contact me about my cat's test results (I'm still waiting for 1 report). The second veterinarian I consulted (the first one was no longer available, which made contnuity of treatment difficult) was rude. She lectured me about the way I care for my cats and suggested I go elsewhere if I did not agree with her advice. My cat was very sick - I have since asked another vet to put her to sleep - and the vet at Just Cats never even examined her. And to top it off, Just Cats charges very stiff prices compared to other veterinary clinics! Read Less
