We had a very good vet in Greece, but when we moved to Henrietta a nearer vet had to be located because our cats, as most, despise traveling. We had planned on doing some research and asking neighbors for their input before securing a new vet, but had not accomplished that prior to discovering a kitten under our deck.Though our first contact over the telephone was not overly pleasant (it was a male tech), Henrietta Animal Hospital was the only place that had a reasonably-timed opening, so an appointment was made. I did not have high expectations, so was pleasantly surprised to meet a kind female staff that was highly interactive and engaging. It is apparent that Dr. Brownstein (vet/owner) genuinely cares for animals. She, and her staff, melted over the kitten, and informed us "it" was a female of approximately four weeks old.Harper has been to the HAH for all of her vaccinations , check-ups and flea treatments. At every visit the staff has been welcoming and kind and the vet has nicely answered our numerous questions. You leave with a report card (of sorts) and documented instructions. The office regularly calls a few days after each visit to make sure all is well. They also call several days prior to a scheduled visit, which is helpful for those of us who have a whirlwind of activities going on.Harper has an elderly sister, Molly, who has also visited HAH. Molly had lost a considerably amount of weight over the past two years and had been vomiting on a weekly basis. After extensive blood work, the cause of Molly's issues was still unknown. Browstein said we could do exploratory surgery to specifically find out the cause(s), but did not recommend it for a senior cat like Molly. Dr. Brownstein placed Molly on two types of medication to stimulate Molly's appetite and prevent nausea -- both of which have been extremely effective, thankfully!Since Molly is 19 we are extremely concerned about making her final years comfortable; not extending her life simply for our benefit. Dr. Brownstein is acutely aware of this fact and has informed us that she, also, would not want Molly to suffer needlessly.HAH is more expensive than other vets I have had. I'm certain I could save a few bucks if I drove down the road to another animal hospital. But, our cats are our babies and we do not mind spending more for the quality care Dr. Brownstein and her staff provide. Read Less
