Recently took my a**hole... I mean, cat here for his first vet visit since I got him a couple years ago as a kitten. He had worms so it was time. Dr. Snyder and his staff were great! They listened and offered reasonable advice. I didn't feel like I was being sold to. Everything they were doing was clear and Sam (that's my cat) was treated very well despite his tendency to be a jerk when people are trying to examine his butt... Can you blame him? Not the closest vet to us, but definitely the best. Sam's worms are gone and the advice we were given regarding his fur has worked very well. We've been going to Apple Country for years. They have always treated our animals with great care. Last week, we thought our Samoyed, Buddy Lou had some sort of a serious obstruction from ingesting unbelievably bad things. Doctor Licata had me bring him in immediately. Being a new vet to the practice, I was a little apprehensive on the way over. That thought left me as soon as I met her. She is a very caring vet and a wonderful person! She examined him with great care and had me leave him in order to do X-rays. My wife received a call from her a short time later saying that the X-rays were not providing her with a definitive answer. She asked for my wife's permission to transport him to their other office in Spencerport. She felt that the other machine would maybe give her a better view in this circumstance, All went well. No obstruction. I found out from speaking to Doctor Licata later that she drove him over in her own vehicle!! I had been going to doctor Snyder since around the time he opened. At that time I trusted him with my dog he seemed to definitely know what he was doing and I felt that he sincerely had compassion for the animals. Fast forward 2011 I brought my new dog there (that I had adopted who was a 2 striker at lollypop) to have his teeth cleaned. We have been going to Apple Country for many years with our dog without any complaints ever about the care of our pet.  Pricing and testing at any vet can seem expensive but you have to pick and choose what is necessary when funds are tight. You do your best while understanding that they need to make a living too. There are many behind the scenes costs for a small biz that the consumer never knows about. Anyway,  we just had our dog in for eye concerns and then a minor surgery. Everything went great and our dog is happy and back to normal. They called us a few days after surgery to check on him. I thought that was very nice of them and it is why I am writing this review. Do not take your animal here!! They are by far the worst vet ever! He diagnosed my cat with Hyperthyroidism about a 2 1/2  years ago. I took her back a number of times. They even made me come in when I called about concerns that my cat wouldn't take her medicine. When I took her in, all he told me to do was to crush up her pill in her food! That was a waste of $75. She had blood tests done and her thyroid levels checks multiple times. He told me the same thing ever time I went, that all of this might be caused by something else like cancer. He never really did anything and my cat still wasn't gaining weight or getting better. One night my cat couldn't walk and was falling over. I called Apple Country's emergency line, no one answered. I took her to the emergency vet, where they did numerous tests (some of the same ones done at apple country vet) The emergency vet diagnosed her with chronic kidney disease, high blood pressure and arthritis on top of the hyperthyroidism. All of this didn't happen over night and should have been figured out by Dr. Snyder and the tests he did!!!! I switched vets the next day. The new vet, I started going to said she was more around 10 years old or older, not 6 years old (which was on her record) Dr. Snyder would have slowly killed my cat, if I continued to take her to him. To top it all off, there prices are out of control!!!!!! $75 for just the visit!! (its $95 for the emergency vet and $44 for my new vet) Apple Country's blood test (CBC) was $90, when the emergency vet was $60!!! I can go on and on with the ridiculous prices and horrible service!!! If you love your pet and don't want to be broke do not take your animal here! Read Less

I really like this place. Dr. Snyder is a great vet. I really like his humor and the way he can put you at ease. It is not always the best experience when your pet is ill and I appreciated his bedside manner so to speak. Highly recommend. A+ all the way. Read Less
