They are both such knowledgable, professional, compassionate and caring doctors and we know our dogs are always in good hands. They are not only kind and compassionate towards our dogs but also towards us and they understand that our dogs mean the world to us. Well after finishing up our first visit with Dr Kramer I have to admit it was a pleasant experience. Our dog had what seemed to be a small growth on her mouth and we were worried about what it could possible be and in less then a minute he looked at it and simply stated that it was a tick! They quickly removed it and provided my husband and I with as much details on how to prevent future occurrences. From websites to products to reduce flea and tick risks, we were provided with an extensive amount of information which made my husband and I feel better prepared in how to combat these issues. All the workers were very kind and thoughtful in all aspects. We never felt like they were just trying to sell us products and get money out of us but instead they seemed to really care about the well being of our pet. My wife and I recently got a puppy and Huntington Animal Hospital was recommended as the vet to use. We did a little research and found out that it is a single vet practice that is family owned for over 60 years. Dr. Jeffery Kramer took over the business from his farther and has worked there for a long time. OK, so they have been in business a long time, but does Dr Kramer and his staff care about the animals they treat? ABSOLUTELY. Everyone at Huntington Animal Hospital is fantastic and our puppy actually loves going to the vet. Besides that, Dr Kramer has been there on multiple occasions when I have called with a question and always seems happy to help. He even follows up after office hours to check on his patients. I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Kramer for over 11 years. Dr. Kramer and the staff at Huntington Animal Hospital have been the best with all three of my dogs. Not only have they been accommodating in times of emergencies, Dr. Kramer has also gone out his way to give me help and advice while his offices were closed.  One time, my terrier ate a whole box of munchkins. I called his number (after hours) and he immediately picked up on his cell phone. He told me what to do (while on his way to a lecture) and said he would call back. Too expensive. Took them my cat who has a skin problems and asked to keep the costs down. It seems like they saw us coming. They suggesting everything under the sun to run up the bill to over $500. They did everything but what was needed. I later took him to Green Forest Vet in Glen Cove. In no time at all she it figured out, gave an antibiotic and days later the cat is on the mend. Cost $135. Also, HA Hosp. couldn't handle the animal and sedated him for an extra $80. Prior to GFV I bought a natural sedative at pet smart: $10 for about 10 uses which does the trick. I have been bringing my 2 Maltese to the Huntington Animal Hospital all their lives. Teddy is 15 1/2 and Ellie is 11 1/2. Both have some serious medical conditions. Dr. Kramer goes above and beyond what other vets do. I've had at length phone conversations with him, as well as in the office and in the waiting room with him sitting with me. What dr does that? He is a wonderful veterinarian and is the kind who will understand and listen to your concerns without judgment or rush you out. He will also seek out someone like a specialist, or refer to medical research journals, to seek further information for you and get back to you. I believe my animals, although on many meds, are still with me because of this man!! Also, staff is fantastic- Maureen the Veterinary Technician is amazing with the animals and so knowledgeable. Dr. Kramer is always accommodating. As a mom of a English Staffordshire Terrier, I am always calling for advice, whichTracy and Dr. Kramer are always there to give. Quick story. My Staffie decided it would be fun sneak onto my kitchen table and it a full box of munchkins. I immediately called Dr. Kramer. Even through it was after hours and he was on his way to teach a lecture, he gave me advice on what to do. Starting with Dr. Mort, the Huntington Animal Hospital has cared for at least 4 of my dogs since the early 80's. Dr. Jeff's love of animals shines through each time we visit. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. Dr. Jeff not only cares for our beloved pets, he is the most caring when it is time for us to let them go. One year ago we adopted an 8 yrs old rescue Yorkie, named Fred.. None of us would have made it without Dr. Jeff's assistance. We drive in from Queens to this animal hospital since we adopted 2 cats over a year and half ago now. It's a 40 minute drive for us but we feel it's worth it. I don't trust anyone with our cats other than Dr. Kramer. He always explains everything he's doing and tells us if some things are not necessary. The wait time is never more than 10-15 minutes for us. Making appointments is never a hassle. And even the one time we didn't see Dr. Kramer, we saw another doctor, she was also really nice and caring. She informed us of everything we needed to know and stuck around to answer questions after the exam of our cats was over. The staff is always welcoming and seem to love my cats as much as I do. We left our cats there for boarding for a week while on vacation. No matter how many times I called to check up on them, no one at the front desk ever gave me an attitude or acted annoyed that I was calling for the sixth time that day. Our cats were returned to us happy and healthy. One time, even though it wasn't our turn to be seen, we were kindly put into an exam room because a dog in the waiting room was barking and very upset at the sight of our cats in their carriers. Dr. Kramer will also answer phone calls when the office is closed and call you back to follow up on questions and concerns. I love this place and they're always caring, informative and try to make every visit as convenient and as pleasant as possible. Would never refer or return . Brought my dog there with what I was told by others was clearly kennel cough. New to dog ownership I was concerned and brought my dog in. Clearly stated what my dogs simptoms were , really harsh coughing to the point she was throwing up flem. Was given a intimidating lecture on it could be this or that insisting on X-rays and blood work etc. . This was after explaining that my dog never eats or acts in a way they insisted it could cause his coughing . Then made an error in x ray and was gracious enough to say they are not charging for that one of many x rays. Well then hit with a $600 charge and was told it was kennel cough. Read Less
