East Islip Animal Hospital

Islip, New York
General Info
East Islip Animal Hospital in Islip, New York is committed to providing kind and expert care to animals in the area. Their services include boarding, cardiology, dental care, pet euthanasia, grooming, house calls, laboratory, microchipping, ophthalmology and surgery. With a devoted team of professionals who understand the profound bond between pets and their families, the practice emphasizes wellness, chronic condition management, and urgent care. East Islip Animal Hospital in Islip offers services uniquely tailored to household stress levels, caregiving structures, and multi-pet routines while supporting pet families throughout New York. Staff members start each visit by observing the animal’s pacing, vocalization, physical posture, and eye behavior to determine how to approach it. Physical health tests check the hydration levels together with coat condition as well as oral health and core strength with limbs mobility and balance control. Structured conversations allow owners to note how well their pets are settling into new homes, appetite changes and responses to noise which affects sleep. East Islip Animal Hospital offers a wide range of veterinary services, including diagnostics, preventive screenings, dental cleanings, minor surgery treatment and recovery, and chronic illness management. The staging also somewhat depends on how many household pets I have, caregiving availability, and the need to emotionally process particularly difficult visits. Families were able to achieve a higher comprehension level of the at-home follow-ups through the material’s long-form written instructions and detailed visual diagrams. Schedules are fluid. Pet owners need to be flexible in their approach and change plans accordingly as required. The optional check-ins and asynchronous updates ensure that progress is maintained, but no one feels overwhelmed. The system uses printed summaries, communication tiering, and pain behavior map data to identify the next steps. East Islip Animal Hospital offers veterinary services in line with household capacities within Islip and New York by respecting animal cues as well as caregiver realities at each contact. They are focused on preventive care, early detection, and timely treatment. Clients appreciate the company’s transparency, educational support, and tailored advice. Whether it’s an issue of complex diagnosis or senior pet support, the team is always involved. More and more pet lovers acknowledge the concept of comprehensive veterinary health, and the brand’s reputation continues to grow.

This building is not immediately noticed in traffic and the parking lot is very small (maybe 4-5 cars). Inside is clean and the staff is friendly and professional. I waited about 25 min. before being seen with my 2 Terrier's. The vet is always pleasant and professional, but all we needed was a kennel cough vaccine and refill on heartworm meds. I was told they must have an exam again otherwise they could not get the vaccine. Cost $ 73.00 each ($ 120.00) which I felt was Unnecessary since they both had full exams LESS than a year ago.! Then they would not refill our heartworm without first doing a blood test $ 65.90 each ($ 131.80) which I also thought was Unnecessary SINCE they had been given it every month steadily!. Add the cost of vaccines which is ALL we went for...total WITH a discount $ 368.05 !!!!!!!! Although they are great, they are also quite expensive. Read Less

Disappointing my dog had been there for checkup and everything was fine. Then one day he developed a heart condition500$ for X-rays as he had a enlarged heart and wasn't breathing correctly, next was a sonogram for 350-450 to see damage but no medicine given to dog until sonogrammeanwhile doctor left and I was assigned another one, dog had fluid in lungs and trouble breathing but no meds til sonogram. I agree to sonogram and the price goes from 350 to 890$$$ because this is company policy according to doctorsI refuse so dog gets no meds. I go to a new vet hospital and the doctor puts dogs on meds immediately, then says don't really need the sonogram as he has a heart condition and will need the meds anyway, New doctor says dog doesn't really need the sonogram and probably won't live long because heart valves are leaking. He said if we did sonogram 300$ he would know exactly where the problem was so I did. Meds settled the dog down a lot but all I could think about is how my dog was suffering while the EIAH squeezed me for cash. Doctors and staff were nice enough at this hospital but they don't own the business only work there and decisions about your dogs health becomes a company decision. Read Less
