I am a little early on posting this review, the blood work for our family dog Kovu isn't back yet. I have to take the time out and explain that during a blizzard my poor dog became very I'll and lost a lot of muscle mass. I haven't been to Capitaland in 17 years, but I remembered how wonderful they were with my rabbit. Kovu needed to be hospitalized, knowing our financial situation and also knowing how upset we are with his illness Dr. K. provided us with the means to keep him home and hydrated. We spent 3 hours in the office, every question was answered and we didn't leave until we were completely comfortable with his care at home. Since then (while waiting for bloodwork that had to be shipped out to Texas) we have received daily calls to update back and forth on his condition. I am tentative to report that Kovu seems to be getting his strength back, I'm hoping he is rounding the corner. Dr. K. and Dr. Z. have gone above and beyond the call of duty here. I've never met a Vet who cares for my furbaby as much as my family and I do. Even though I have several offices much closer to me, I know I'll be moving my 2 other dogs, and 3 cats to Capitaland. Thank you so much for everything, and miss Morgan thank you for being the "go between" and handling the emotional phone calls. Don't stop caring ladies, it's a hard quality to find lately!!

I just received the most beautiful, thoughtful sympathy card from this outstanding hospital. Dr. Zahn and all of the staff wrote a personal note, remembering Cocoa. Cocoa was a 12 lb Lhasa Poo. She was almost 18. By the time she reached the end of her journey, she was blind with cataracts, deaf, had dementia and was starting to lose control of her hind legs. They gently wrapped her in a pink quilt, I sat in a small chair and held her and pet her and told her what a wonderful girl she is. Her tail slowly wagged as she said goodbye. If you love your pet as much as I did Cocoa, then this is the only place you should take them.

Dr. K is amazing! I have been bringing my 1-1/2 year old catahoula mix to CAH since we got him at 10 weeks old. All of their staff is amazing, from front desk, to assistants and obviously the vets. When my boy was 5 months he contracted infectious pneumonia and he couldn't stand on his own, wouldn't eat, drink and was declining rapidly within 3 hours. I called CAH and Dr. K was able to see him right away. They gave him fluids, antibiotics and lots of care and attention. We had him transfered to an emergency clinic so he could be monitored 24hrs. Later the next day he was able to come home. Their accommodation and care saved my dogs life, they adore him as we feel the same about them. 10 stars for this clinic and the wonderful staff!!!

I brought a rescue kitty in for a basic check, tests, & vaccinations. Everyone was lovely -- from the front desk staff to the vet tech and Dr. Pedersen. They treated the cat with great sensitivity and patience, and were alert to every detail re: her health and adjustment to being in my home and then at the vet's. While I've done rescues, trapping, and community cat management & care in the past, it was a help to learn a couple of new things during this visit that will help to prevent potential problems. I was very impressed with their efforts to educate and accommodate me as a new client re: their services. They really are a cat-friendly and pet guardian-friendly operation.

I can't believe how great they are!!!! They saved my fur baby Cinnamon. Since we inherited her(1 1/2 years ago) shes never been out going or a big eater. I took her to another vet when she came to live with us for a check up and shots. I also noticed a small lump. and they said she was fine it was just a benign cyst and it would come and go because she was old. About a month ago she developed a huge lump,3x the size as before( it was the same lump it had just gotten bigger) and it was turning colors!!!! She ( being a dog) bit at it and it opened. I rushed her to Capital land vet and they did surgery the very next day.( it wasnt a benign cyst! It was a mammory tumor!!!! (And an infection!!!) Apparently shes had this infection for a very very long time. Now she is fully healed. Shes a completely new dog! She eats full meals, jumps, plays, runs all over I can't express my gratitude enough to them for saving her and giving her many more happy years. ( ps: come to find out, shes not that old) Thank You so much!!!!

We have been taking our dogs to Capitaland Animal Hospital for more than twenty years and our experiences there have all been positive. We have had five dogs now who we have entrusted to their care and, from puppyhood until the day arrived when they left us, they have handled every situation with great care and sensitivity. We have come to regard the staff as dear friends, and we can recommend them without reservation.

After bringing our first animal to Capitaland they were very nice and professional. They handled a very tough experience for us in a way that made us comfortable. Recently we emailed them with a non-emergency medical situation and after 4 days I haven't received an email back nor a phone call. Now a non-emergency has escalated and I will have two pets hospitalized as we hope that they recover. Not a happy camper. After several calls from me to them the response is rather than refer a vet that specializes in our pet needs they will gladly charge us for a "preliminary examination" so that they can refer us to another vet. No thank you. I will continue to search for another vet and will no longer be able to share the positive experience from years ago as a reference point to recommend capitaland. A shame that a simple phone call could have prevented this review.

My wife and I found this vet after our sick dog went untreated several months at our old vet in Lansingburgh. In the first visit they diagnosed the problem and unfortunately it was too late to save her. I have taken all my dogs to this vet ever since. The only reason I give them four, not five stars, is because of the prices. The prices are on the high side, but if you want the best care for your pets, be they sick or in great health, this is a great vet to go to.

My experience with Capitaland couldn't be further from that of the other reviewer. We have used them for years with no problems at all. When we had to put our cat down due to a sudden illness, the staff (especially Dr. K.) were incredibly compassionate and kind. The facility is clean and they are always quick and courteous. I recommend them highly.

I would give this place no stars if it were possible. Do not send your pets here unless you are looking for people with no compassion. We sent our three dogs here for a few years when suddenly one passed away extremely too young and unexpectedly from uncontrollable seizures. When we arrived at the vet with him (he had already passed at this point) my mother and I were beside ourselves. We could not even speak. We were balling our eyes out. They had no compassion what-so-ever. NONE. All they kept pestering us about was the money. I'm sorry, but when your beloved pet has just passed the least think you could do is be a little compassionate but literally the first thing they asked for is their money. We were so appalled we left their practice immediately. I would not suggest this place to anyone. We have found an amazing place--Homestead Animal Hospital on exit 12 of the Northway in Mechanicville right by Saratoga Lake. The staff is wonderful. I really cannot say enough great things about them. They are friendly, warm, super knowledgeable and most of all--compassionate. We drive all the way from Delmar and it is so worth it. Their prices are also lower than Capitaland, not that it matters much, but it is an added bonus. DO NOT GO TO CAPITAL LAND unless you want to be treated as another dollar sign...

We've been taking our dog and cats to Capitaland for several years and have had nothing but great experiences. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous, the facility is immaculate and their prices are competitive. We recently had to put our cat to sleep after a brief illness, and couldn't have asked for a better vet during such a difficult time. The vets were extremely thorough in his care and we sure to keep us constantly updated and provided us with their honest thoughts. The staff was above and beyond caring and kind, and did everything they could for him while treating him such compassion. I can't recommend Capitaland enough!

I am a little early on posting this review, the blood work for our family dog Kovu isn't back yet. I have to take the time out and explain that during a blizzard my poor dog became very I'll and lost a lot of muscle mass. I haven't been to Capitaland in 17 years, but I remembered how wonderful they were with my rabbit. I just received the most beautiful, thoughtful sympathy card from this outstanding hospital. Dr. Zahn and all of the staff wrote a personal note, remembering Cocoa. Cocoa was a 12 lb Lhasa Poo. Dr. K is amazing! I have been bringing my 1-1/2 year old catahoula mix to CAH since we got him at 10 weeks old. All of their staff is amazing, from front desk, to assistants and obviously the vets. When my boy was 5 months he contracted infectious pneumonia and he couldn't stand on his own, wouldn't eat, drink and was declining rapidly within 3 hours. I called CAH and Dr. K was able to see him right away. They gave him fluids, antibiotics and lots of care and attention. We had him transfered to an emergency clinic so he could be monitored 24hrs. Later the next day he was able to come home. Their accommodation and care saved my dogs life, they adore him as we feel the same about them. 10 stars for this clinic and the wonderful staff!!!

I brought a rescue kitty in for a basic check, tests, & vaccinations. Everyone was lovely -- from the front desk staff to the vet tech and Dr. Pedersen. They treated the cat with great sensitivity and patience, and were alert to every detail re: her health and adjustment to being in my home and then at the vet's. While I've done rescues, trapping, and community cat management & care in the past, it was a help to learn a couple of new things during this visit that will help to prevent potential problems. I was very impressed with their efforts to educate and accommodate me as a new client re: their services. They really are a cat-friendly and pet guardian-friendly operation.

I can't believe how great they are!!!! They saved my fur baby Cinnamon. Since we inherited her(1 1/2 years ago) shes never been out going or a big eater. I took her to another vet when she came to live with us for a check up and shots. I also noticed a small lump. and they said she was fine it was just a benign cyst and it would come and go because she was old. About a month ago she developed a huge lump,3x the size as before( it was the same lump it had just gotten bigger) and it was turning colors!!!! She ( being a dog) bit at it and it opened. My wife and I found this vet after our sick dog went untreated several months at our old vet in Lansingburgh. In the first visit they diagnosed the problem and unfortunately it was too late to save her. I have taken all my dogs to this vet ever since. The only reason I give them four, not five stars, is because of the prices. The prices are on the high side, but if you want the best care for your pets, be they sick or in great health, this is a great vet to go to.

My experience with Capitaland couldn't be further from that of the other reviewer. We have used them for years with no problems at all. When we had to put our cat down due to a sudden illness, the staff (especially Dr. K.) were incredibly compassionate and kind. The facility is clean and they are always quick and courteous. I recommend them highly.

We've been taking our dog and cats to Capitaland for several years and have had nothing but great experiences. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous, the facility is immaculate and their prices are competitive. We recently had to put our cat to sleep after a brief illness, and couldn't have asked for a better vet during such a difficult time. The vets were extremely thorough in his care and we sure to keep us constantly updated and provided us with their honest thoughts. The staff was above and beyond caring and kind, and did everything they could for him while treating him such compassion. I can't recommend Capitaland enough!
